Green Day have always been criticised for being ‘commercial’ and ‘sell outs’… what people miss is that these guys are so professional and tight, they make punk easy to listen to. Years of hard graft is evident in their playing…. Even in a broom cupboard! ❤
Awesome. I never get sick of hearing these guys and I have no idea why. Everything they sing has so much more passion in it....almost an urgent feeling. Idk, can't explain it. These guys are real. They will play forever.
I play guitar in a band, and we do a lot of Green Day covers. I just realized that I play guitar the same way Mick Dirt plays bass. Same strumming style, I stand the same way, and I even make the same faces but I play guitar. lol I even hop like him
I think the reason Billie wasn't using Blue was because this was right before a show and Blue would've been all set up for that show so it would've been easier to use it's backup as seen here. And also, in terms of sound it's pretty much identical to Blue since it's a Fernandes with an angled bridge humbucker.
Probably part of why they played all old songs as well. They had so little room, and they had to have an extra guitar just in case of string breaks, so they had to stick to one tuning. What better to do than the older stuff!
They played this at the tampa concert behind the stage which i happened to go to and im so glad that i went to the concert they did this behind bc this livestream happened to end up somewhat famous. Ugh i remember waiting to get in the concert at the gate and some people were sitting on the floor watching the livestream as it happened god i fucking miss that day.
@@dylanburton4955 as horrible as it is to say… I miss the drugged out Green Day. The speed they played at, the energy they had… it was amazing. I got to see them in 09 before Billie went to rehab… all I can say is holy shit… what an amazing show
first concert , dookie tour 1994 , orlando florida , changed my life , i was 13 yrs old . got to meet billie and tre like seven years later . ha snuck backstage at a warped tour smoked pot w tre cool and the guys from sublime and that dalmation , they had a crazy glass bubbler , billie gave me a pic still have it ,, his son joey drew a spaceman on it is what he told me, ha,, love these dudes they changed my lfe. discovering lookout records and diy comunity in the early nineties, seein g====fifteen and jawbreaker and so many legends and it all started with them
@@brettfriedman587 they can't do panic song but there's no reason they can't do the other ones. i don't know how it works but we should be able to request a band play something if we cash app them or something
this is really great but i cant get over the fact that tre is playing without anything to dampen his cymbals in that tiny ass room with nothing on the walls & fairly thick sticks... i mean i guess playing rock music for 30 years would take its toll on your hearing but man

Christie road to Jar to burnout. Holy shit balls. This kicked ass!
that was the holy trifecta , indeed
1:11 I'm in your house LOL Mike
I still say Paper Lanterns was the best song they've ever written and should close every show with an old fashioned 10 minute version.
Right after J.A.R. they go into Burnout.......Awesome!!!
Extremely garagey love it

I think you worded it right, an Urgent feeling
I love how they’re playing their old songs from their first few albums
They weren’t kidding when they said it would have a garage rock sound and I love it

I like to think I'm a merger of Billie and Mike. I stand and strum the same as Billie, but my expressions when I play are more like Mike's.
Who gives a shit?!!
Aaaaahh.. The 3 piece once again...Heaven!! 💘 the scratchy sound..... Mike on the right too...

I love how Mike mentions the Longview video because seeing them in that small room actually reminds me of that video lol 😂
I watched this live on my phone while riding the bus after work, then a few hours later saw them in Tampa. Great day!

bet you miss it even more now :(
Set to 1.25 for classic Green day
thanx for the tip
I miss how fast they were
@@jgzero18 I'm sure it's harder to do it at the same speed they did when they were younger, they don't do drugs anymore either

Wow, it's been nearly 3 years already. I remember watching this live.
And now this comment is 3 years old. Very interesting.
incredibly selfless of them to do a live like this, and they STILL GOT IT.
Best Green Day performance ever.

Thank you 🙏
Goodman for uploading this, remember watching it live on the day.
this is one of the best setlists ever
When he said "old songs" I was thinking "OK maybe Dookie." First song comes on... "Ohshit! It's 39 Smooth! He meant OLD old."

@@shanekronbergermusic A troll I bet
Now you can’t
I remember seeing this on FB live. Awesome time. Never noticed Mike wearing the Stooges shirt till now tho.
I actually remember hearing about hurricane Harvey
the last 90's green day concert
Rare for them to perform as a trio after 2000 lol but as Billie said that’s not a very big room for them to put the touring members in with them
It's interesting there are doing an instrumental set.
Wonder if we will ever see the trio live again.
True ...
If they decided to do some special thing like they kinda did here they probably will
I just realised all the songs they play are from warning and before in albums that’s proper old green day for 2017 lol 😂
22:09
Wait, why the fuck is Mike not using his pick during Burnout?
He drops it mid way through the song…have a closer look
this sound like shit, i love it. punky as hell, thats the kind of concert i want them to make xD
Anyone ever notice Tre Cool looks like Q (John De Lancie) from Star Trek sometimes?
gonna listen to some pinhead gunpowder now
WHAT??!?? 888subscribers!?!??!

Does anyone know what amp he used for this video? Only of you sounds identical to the record…
I wonder who was the a$$hole that disliked this!
GREEN DAY 4EVER!
I wanna see them play the whole Dookie album
They did it for a few shows back in 2013. I’d really like to see them play all of insomniac but I don’t think it’ll ever happen.
Reading 2013
