Nimrod is a bit of a stretch (especially since its so long) but it’s better than Insomniac so it’s got something going on

Funny - pretty sure my parents said the same thing about Green Day in the 90’s, and their parents said the same thing about the Beatles in the 60’s, and their parents said the same thing about Miles and Coltrane in the 40’s. Music is always music, it just doesn’t wait for us to catch up.

I'm so glad Weezer resurfaced in the 2020s from Blue memes, led me into alternative rock of the 90s and 2000s that I'm still exploring today
Weezer, Radiohead, Green Day, The Strokes, Blink-182, The Smashing Pumpkins, Coldplay and a bit of My Chemical Romance, and probably more to come; it's been a year and a half since Blue for me
I remember this on Television, and they had a contest. If you won you got to meet Green Day. It was guess the song they play before "The Grouch" I was super young and didn't know it at the time which made me so sad. But they played the song "Big Yellow Taxi" by Pinhead Gunpowder. In which Billie Joe was also in that band along with Jason who is now the other guitar player in Green Day since the Warning tours. - Fun fact. Pinhead Gunpowder is a great Punk Rock band too! I own 4 of their albums now. And rumor has it, they still play shows from time to time in California.

I think Joni Mitchell wrote “Big Yellow Taxi” in 1970. Covered by many people in many genres Folk, rock, punk, country... Of course, I really like Billy’s Pinhead Gunpowder version too!

The Bottom Of The Hill! I fucking love that venue. One of the absolute best shows I have ever seen was there.

The broken nose actually helped Mike's pitch for harmony vocals. It was off before that, then it got markedly better after he broke it (or it was a coke-induced nosebleed, I don't recall seeing him actually hitting it).

Dookie, WTSMG, Def-maybe, nevermind, and in utero were the best records of the 90s. Dookie literally had no bad songs.
Dookie was playing the night I dropped sid for the first time. When She came on I was trying to figure out if I was high or not (anyone who's dropped knows what I'm talking about) As She played I thought they were speaking a different language and I started tripping balls. Single best night of my life.

Yeah, They played there a couple of times in 1998 and also in 1999, which was one of they're very few shows in '99, unfortunately, footage from that show has been missing for several years.
