Your videos are so helpful! I work as a coordinator for an after school program and I like to describe our program as a school day but condensed into 3-4 hours and your videos are giving me so many ideas for behavior. I work with k-8th so learning new skills for various age groups is necessary. Also your group of kiddos sounds a lot like multiple groups of kiddos we have in our program but our ratio is 1 program lead : 20+ students at a time. Trying to really make a switch in our schedule right now as we end our semester due to improper training, no classroom management being done/coached on/ developed in, no lesson planning or material prep .. I could go on. I was not in charge of staff before getting back so this is what I’ve been trying to manage since last late august/sept on top of program changes, staff changes. 😅 wish me luck!

Did you know if you slice pool noodles into like "donuts" you can squeeze them between your thumb and pointer fingers and they will pop out of your hands? A cheap fun active activity! A preschool classroom I was visiting had a door chime at the door to alert the teachers of anyone coming in or out of the room. That might be a good thing in addition to the gate. Have you heard of Conscious Discipline program for social and emotional learning? It is absolutely AMAZING!

Can you show us your classroom? How it’s set up.

What did she say about the criss cross applesauce?

That they don't have to and that she was glad that I let the kids lie down if they were not bothering any other children.
