Thank you for this video and for the infos given. Interesting cab ride with sky overcast and little rain in small part of this ride. Nice view over the beautiful cathedral at the end and Nice horror seen at 1.37.10.
Beautiful route from Bratislava to Brno. The line to Kuty needs renovation even though it is one of the main lines of the Czech and Slovak railway system. The stations are dated but nice. The renovation of the bridge under construction over the Morava is already present in the Czech Republic. The railway junction of Breclav appears to be in excellent condition. Here too the Skoda Elefant and Panter reign supreme. Note how Ceske Drahy (Czech Railways) insisted on creating a high-speed train using the Austrian-made Railjets and adapting them to the blue-light blue livery of Ceske Drahy CD. In the past I know that on the flagship line Brno - Praha (which I recommend you see) the Eurostar Pendolinos passed, borrowed from the Italian ETR 450s. CD has probably undergone an evolution. Here you can see the new Skoda EMUs for Moravia. On the line to Ostrava there are also LeoExpress (private company) operated with Stadler Flirt rolling stock that will cover, with a view to interoperability, Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic and also Ukraine. Too bad the weather didn't help and the whistling of the wind, connected to the speed of the VECTRON, made the sound unlistenable at times. It's not your fault, of course! The final line is beautiful when you arrive in BRNO and you can see the old Spielberg fortress on the hill and the Gothic cathedral. If you have the chance to return to Czechia it would be nice to do the Ustì nad Labem - Dresden line that follows the Elbe canyons or the Prague - Dresden. Or the line that goes from Ustì nad Labem to Cheb passing through Karlovy Vary. Czechia is full of lines. Thanks for everything!
Thank you for your suggestions. I did a few lines in Czech Republic, hopefully soon will be able to do more of them. It was a great journey. And the wind noise...it is just, I am sorry. Sometimes the outcome is better, but sometimes it is just like this. It would be nice to be able to repeat the filming, but it is not always possible. I wish you nice weekend.
Well... the statement that the Slovakian part needs a renovation is... somewhat... a huge underestimation. A lot of train drivers refuse to drive faster than 20-30 kph under the limit - to not damage vehicles and to ensure passenger comfort...
As far as I know the project of upgrade of line from Bratislava to Kúty should be in some sort of progress, and last info I have seen about it is that they want to build it for 200 kph. But the question is whether they will be able to do that or whether they will be able to do that. Even the short section from Kúty to border with Czechia is significantly delayed and all the delays and issues had led to reactivation of crossing from Holíč to Hodonín and alterations in project on Czech side. Also City Elefants do not operate in southern Moravia as they are build only for 3 kV DC while the electrification in southern part of Czechia is 25kV AC. I think it was the ÖBB that had insisted on operating Railjets between Vienna and Prague, for short time this line was served by Pendolino.
2:49 Class 736.1 (rebuilt on the chassis of the former T466.0/735), it's a Road Switcher type locomotive, full equipped (passeng3r) line locomotive, temporally used aa a station shunting backup.
The departure from Bratislava Main Station pretty much resembles Budapest-Déli with that old tunnel. It's a shame that both stations are in such a bad condition.
great video, i made this journey back in june when i did a month long tour of europe visiting 23 countries in 30 days, although out of bratislava my train got diverted through southern czechia before making its way to brno
I guess it was not diverted via souther czechia, but via the line Kúty - Holíč - Hodonín - Břeclav (back to standard line). So rather western Slovakia / southern Moravia. The reason is the construction works on the bridge over Morava river and on the line between Kuty and Lanzhot.
Even though it was raining and the camera was wet, the journey between Bratislava and Brno was great. Great information as usual 😊 I saw the train line from Vienna at 1:02:23. I've seen this route from the video you published in the Cabride video between Vienna to Breclav. 😃 By the way, when the train is passing the border between Slovak and Czech country?
@@ZvonimirZelenika I didn't realize that this river was the border. I missed this information when I was watching while discussing with my family. Thank you!
Love country view, thankyou. Heavy rain in final part of journey, but no winscreen wipers used. Is this not a safety issue. For example late viewing of signals?
Pozdrawiam serdecznie ✌️
A question not about trains. Can someone please tell me what kind of flowers appear at 54:00 on left side of track. A pretty bunch at 54:36. They are beautiful and I would like to see if I could get some seeds over here. Any flower experts in the audience? Thanks!
It could either be Brassica napus (I would write the common name, but that could be bit problematic) or Verbascum densiflorum. It is hard to tell and there is a chance that there are both species.
@@shytoad130 Brassica napus is more or less common agricultural crop, so maybe you will be able to only get truckload of them ;) Since I don't know where you live I can't comment whether you will be able to get Verbascum densiflorum, but it certainly is available in Czechia (If that info is of any help to you).
