- "We're just renting." It's the rallying cry of a breed of people who were never taught that when you borrow something from someone else you should return it in the same, or better condition in which you received it; it's an excuse often given by people for the reason their house is filthy and disarrayed as if living in filth and squalor somehow spites the landlord. The pig sits in his own shit laughing at what he did to the farmer's land. We all know what happens to the pig though.
We don't, however, know what happened to the pigs who made such a sticky, smelly mess of my customer's condo. They just left. They left their stuff behind, they left the heat on and they left the front door wide open. They weren't even behind on their rent.
And so we were called in to clean this 856 square foot condo from top to bottom. It was the biggest and filthiest job that we've had in quite a long time so when @ReyesTheEntrepreneurasked if he could tag along for the day I knew it would be the perfect job to show him what the cleaning business is all about.

Interesting, thank you for making this video. How much did you charge for this job in total? I noticed you did some handyman work and repairs as well as cleaning. Is that a typical service for this area, or something unique to your business?
Yuck! I live in a multi family home owned by my parents. They just got rid of annoying tenants that never followed the rules last year. When they went to do the walk through it was appalling. Black at the bottom of both toilets, mold all over the bathroom, food smeared all along the kitchen cabinets, a thick coating of grease in the sink, they even left food in one of the cabinets with more mold growing all over it and it spread to the actual cabinet drawer itself, floors so dusty they looked a different color and carpet never vacuumed. Hand prints all over the walls. Don’t even get me started on the smell of the place. The wife had just had a baby within like 2 months of moving in. I just don’t understand how you could be ok living in a place that dirty let alone having a new born baby living in those conditions! She was home more than half the time. There was no excuse. I mean I get it not everyone is a clean freak but it was evident that the last time the place had been cleaned was 2 years ago when my mom had the cleaning come before they moved in. When you are renting you have to clean (and more than once 😒). There’s no if ands or buts about it.
In my experience cleaning for people in their homes, I've learned that people at the extreme ends of the cleaning spectrum (clean freaks and filthy pigs) are all dealing with some sort of trauma or other psychological issues. It doesn't make it any less gross but it does help to understand where they're coming from.
How much would you charge just to clean that house without the carpet cleaning? I just have to tell you that I am impressed!!!! You know your shit!!!

I used to own a cleaning company…I know cleaning and hard work, but these people have absolutely ruined my $525k home. 1610 sq ft…up to $15,000 in repairs. I guess you can take the folks out of the trailer park but not the trailer park out of the folks.

I just found your channel from your comment on Shelby church's channel. I've been a housecleaner for 40 years. May I ask do you give the owner a contract stipulating terms, conditions and specifically the price you are charging. Seems difficult to estimate amount of hours it will take for these types of vacant cleanings. Also, I've seen properties 20x dirtier than that.
Not a contract per se but a written estimate. Obviously, things get added on on a job like this one and those are negotiated as we go.
I’m sure anyone who has been in this business any length of time has seen worse, but what set this place apart is that the tenants did all that in just 6 months.

I really don’t think $500 for all that is too bad. How much mor to do the carpets? I know that no one likes to break a job down to dollars per hour. It looks like you took a lot of time. Do you get a handyman for the broken stuff and leaks or do you do all repairs too?
You are just great. Maybe you have a single Dad or an older friend that’s smart, manly, hardworking… i don’t know how you handle it all so chill. My dream was to own a cleaning business. I never did it.
$500?! Oh, no. It was ever so much more than $500 and the carpets were included. My wife and I did all of the work. The only thing I outsourced was one of the linen cabinet doors.

@@snowfoxxie I have been watching a lot of videos this morning and all l can say is at least the tenants didn't leave furniture , clothes, toys etc. Unless the landlord already got rid of that kind of stuff. I almost heaved just imagining the smell.

I’ve been a landlord. It’s overrated. Shitty tenants always seem to be able to find a place to live so I don’t think being a bad tenant has much to do with homelessness

Yes, but normally a tenant doesn’t leave the place so filthy that you can write your name in the dirt on the walls.
