Love watching your renovations Tom! Here is a landlord tip, place inexpensive vinyl sheet flooring ( I buy mine from Menards) cut to size for under all the cabinets, as drawer liners and closet shelf liners. Saves the cabinets from stains, sticky or soapy bottles. So much easier to clean up when a tenant departs. Pull them out, clean and sanitize, put them back. It’s less expensive than shelf paper as well.
Hi Tom. In your last video you were concerned that it was boring for us to watch but NOT ALL !!! If your videos were boring - you wouldn't have followers. For me I enjoy watching your videos no matter what you're doing because my dad was a "jack of all trades" so I grew up with all sorts of things going on around me - it's kinda comforting for me to watch you. Also I've learned how things are done. I was watching your plumbing job particularly since I have plumbing problems in my home. So in my opinion, you're videos are interesting and I watch you every week. Just wanted you to know and may you and Dawn and family have a great weekend.
I hesitated to watch Tom's channel at first because I thought it would be boring but surprise surprise, I'm riveted from beginning to end. You and Dawn are two of my favourite youtubers. Now I can refurbish my house AND keep it tidy, 😂😂😂
Hey Tom, I know you keep saying "This is boring stuff, no one is going to watch" but as a person that is not afraid to try to tackle some jobs by myself, I so appreciate you showing your process. You are definitely spreading your knowledge and I enjoy it and appreciate it immensely. Thank you!
I have a driver's license....lol!!!! :) You are a one man show Tom!!!! We give you permission to be proud of what you have accomplished!!! I love seeing the process!!! Keep it up Tom!! Cheering you on!!!
I've been meaning to send you a huge "thank you" Tom! In one of your (Dawns?) videos you were using a shop vac on a clog in the kitchen sink. After trying everything else, and getting ready to call a plumber, I remembered seeing you do that. It worked!! It was amazing how easy and fast it was. I never would have thought of that in million years - thank you so much!!!!!
I'm standing in line at Walmart and looking at the magazines and there is Tom and Dawn on the front cover (Chip and Joanna Gaines), LOL ❤ holy moly Tom, you were telling us how you were going to grade the yard and voila you were doing it. ❤❤❤❤ you make a great teacher, messes and all. I'm really enjoying this series ❤
We are installing a toilet in our quasi=finished basement and as the cast iron main lines are overhead, we are putting in a Saniflow toilet. Tom, we are accustomed to doing many things ourselves, but this was a totally new adventure. My husband decided to call a plumber, but I snuck away and looked up the process on u-tube! Well, other than tapping into the main drainage line, this isn't a big deal at all! By the time hubby was back on the scene, I showed him the best video and told him that even I could do this! I am thrilled to say that you have inspired ME to give it a shot (even though I am 71)! We may still call our plumber to actually tie into the cast iron, but the rest we will do ourselves! Thank you so much for inspiring so many to have confidence in themselves when it comes to projects such as these! Well, time to end this as I am signed in to take part in Dawn's 'All Day Clutter' process today (5/6/23)! You two have both become a big part of my life and I can't thank you enough!!!
Tom, you are amazing. You can do everything. I used to watch my dad and my husband do all these types of jobs as well. My dad grew up on a farm in Iowa and my husband a farm in Michigan. My father and my husband left the farm to go to college and other careers but they brought all that good knowledge with them. I love all neat and particular you are. It makes for a great result.
I love your opening with the police doing the Minnesota drift down the road!Did they catch your alter ego? It is so interesting seeing the step by step process of your building projects, reassuring too to see ideas come true with hard work!
I know nothing about what you show…I enjoy how you are explaining the process, state that you are not a professional, giving us your thought process is huge to me because you are weighing pros and cons that I would never have considered. Great job on the water! Omg. The work you are doing outside in consideration of horse tenants is amazing. I don’t believe too many owners would take the ground conditions in consideration for them. Again, hearing your thoughts on why you grade this way vs that way is good to hear! If I ever had to have work done, and it was a possibility to hire you, I would in a heart beat! Ok, gushing over, great job and so enjoy watching and learning from both of you!
Beautiful job, Tom ! Wow ! So many different jobs and details… and you master it all! It is very exciting to see that the heat is now on, water is coming on , the driveway is taking shape … Just terrific !! Keep up the great work !! Lucky future tenants !

My husband never uses glue type p-trap because he likes to be able to clean it out periodically and also rescue items that fall down the sink on accident. 😂 My son is in trades school and his instructor said that he likes pex in areas that are easily accessible but underground and behind drywall he still prefers copper. 😂
Tom, I admire your work and your perseverance. Did you just use the vents that were per-existing? I agree that shut off valves are important and many do not put shut-off valves for tubs and showers. I have never regretted the minimal expense that it takes to put those valves in.
I need a video telling me what all the big equipment pieces are called. My toddlers love watching all the construction going on around us and I don’t know all the pieces lol
