  • Chef John Yeo took the leap of faith amidst COVID period to resign from his Executive Sous Chef role, to set up a small store located in Telok Blangah serving high quality ban mian and handmade dumplings. Reason? The simple motivation of giving back to society.

    Chef Yeo was the head chef overseeing my wedding banquet dinner in 2016. Extremely nice chap, humble and talented cook. My guests were full of praises for the high quality food that night. Am happy to see that he has came out on his own to pursue his dreams. Will definitely go support him👏🏻👍🏻

    I don't live in the area but happened to pass by a few months back and tried their noodles during the no dine-in period of COVID. I've never heard of them but patronised the store for the first time. Both my partner and I were pleasantly surprised at how delicious their food is. The texture of the noodles, the uniqueness of the dried chili, and the freshness of the fried dumplings!
    The boss is also very thoughtful: as the noodles were take-away, he nicely tossed them and ensured that the sauce was mixed evenly before transferring them into the box. This ensured that the noodles didn't turn clumpy and that every strand was coated evenly even after we reached our destination. A small gesture like this went a long way and was appreciated!
    Was surprised that this store was not famous and I'm glad that it is finally, and deservedly so, getting some air-time on social media :) The food is very reasonably priced as well and the boss is generous in the amount.
    Will definitely return if I am in the area and if I am free, will travel down again to show support!

    I stay at Telok Blangah and my family patronises the stall regularly . My husband likes the brown rice meehoon. Is healthy and delicious. My daughter tends to like their fried kway teow. For me I like all. Recently we tried the fried fish head meehoon with black beans. Is yummy. The couple is very hardworking, humble and polite. I wish them 生意兴隆

    yo can i just say, i appreciate the person who designed his stall front. the good use of accent red to tie from top of signboard to circles on the menu. then the actual attention to subtle detail, playing "ban" into the font type selected for chinese wording on the signage, very similar to mahjong tile wording......and that smart use of the typical chinese frame around the yanan mark...!!! very nice la! good job! idk if you were paid a lot for it, but it felt like u knew the stall owner well and you made the store front very "him".

    Omg, if I am not mistaken, he used to be a sous chef back at Westin Singapore, as I was carrying out my internship there. Hope that all goes well for him.

    I have tried this a few times and it's great. I feel a bit bad I haven't gone more often. There's a lot of other great people and food at this centre too so it's hard to choose :)

    Latest updates: I've just checked with Chef John, he said thr is Online Order from Mon - Fri only but if thr are overwhelming Orders he'll indicate in the System "Busy" temporary stop taking Orders.
    He opens from 8am - 3pm but the less crowded timing at 10am on weekdays

    But the q system is confusing . Need to place order before joining the main q. If not for customers who told me , I would not have known . Cos there’s no signage about this order/queue system .

      @@jamessun318 Tried it this morning. Noodles were perfectly done, sauce savoury sweet, and the soup was superb with a tint of umami and seaweed. Had the $5.50 dry version, excellent.
      Nevertheless there is fierce competition from this hawker centre, long queues at wanton mee, fishball noodle and carrot cake.

    I've order grab food delivery from this store before. For me, the ban mian noodle is so so only, can't feel the handmade texture. The broth has a lot of anchovies in it, I feel like it would be better if they strain out the anchovies from the broth as I think the soup will be better without those soggy anchovies residue. Maybe the dry version will be better, gonna try next time.
    On the other hand, their char kuey teow is really really good and I like it very much, got wok hei, big fresh prawn, lap cheong and is very flavorful. I recommend char kuey teow over the ban mian.
    The fried dumplings taste not bad la, but the size is very much smaller than the standard fried dumplings.

Maybe should adds in your's noodle 🍜 picture likes the Prawn 🍤 noodle 🍜 ☕ looks extremely delicious. Because some times we buy foods and drinks is by Our's eyes 👁️👁️👁️ sense.       Life is about change. I've got fired about 5 times , the hardest is working at a place that is dysfunctional or going bankrupt or outgrown...Wow, good for you Chef, definitely a good move.
