What can you add to your set up to get you more excited to study? 😊 So much love for you all ❤ We're nearly at 100K whoa
*Bonus tips* (I always try to share new things you might not have heard of but common tips are common for a reason! :)):
- Minimize the items on your desk. Note that don’t have to be *this* clean as evidenced by my study space at Caltech 😅: ua-cam.com/video/PBNMs8MjT2Y/v-deo.htmlsi=mTC8mGpCpRqC30Qk&t=497
- Put items of distraction out of view. If you have a bookcase of interesting books in front of you, this could be distracting so consider putting these things behind you
- Similar to if you make visual progress, having a calendar or planner easily accessible helps you stay on track
- Space saving and nifty items like cord organizers in my Essentials make it so much easier to be neat: amzn.to/3G6zLm4
- Plants are also mood-boosting!
Even if one is using a laptop on bed, it really helps to get a 'portable laptop bed table' which allows you to comfortably use laptop while sitting on bed without compromising your eye level. I recently got one. And the laptop gets its hard top to place on too.
Also, highly recommend to get air purifier.
And indoor plants like Pothos are my favorite! Wholesome effect on mind!
Yo! First comment here...
Oh yeah, I like using my Dyson purifier! I got one to help with my eczema. And thanks for the suggestions!@@HumanHuman.

Let us express deep gratitude to this enlightenment channel created by Amy senior, couldn't done without you
Philosophical comment! Looking forward to see your positive philosophical comments on Amy's upcoming content too.
Stay blessed!
I truly couldn't have done it without YOU
So much gratitude for you and each wonderful member of our community!
Peace upon you all.
Many of you have been asking Amy questions regarding how to focus and avoid procrastination. Just to shed some light on those questions, focus isn't something you get by following a couple of superficial tips. It requires a 'wholistic' approach for you to take in gradual steps on a daily basis to get into the lifestyle change and one of the MAJOR steps you can do is to create the best workspace for yourself. So obviously, this vlog by Amy will definitely help you to enhance focus and avoid procrastination too!
I just went to my bookshelf for you all, and got out my copy of 'No Dream Is Too High' by former astronaut Buzz Aldrin because he has resonated similar thoughts in that book. Buzz narrates that to "think" and let the creative juices flowing, one has to have a a physical "environment" that promotes that mindset rather than shun it.
I'll say that you don't have to worry about spending too much to get that creative workspace;
just simple steps to get an indoor Pothos plant, light colored curtains, white/off&white walls, daylight coming from windows, a decent chair and table to keep posture and eye level at ease etc. etc. And you can even put nature wallpapers on your device screens that have a calming effect. This way, along with wholesome physical environment, you'll have a wholesome digital environment too. And of course, clean your phones from those unnecessary apps etc and avoid social media useless feeds. You must create wholesomeness in your physical and digital environments BOTH!
Amy, so many aspects of a creative workspace design you mentioned I ALREADY totally endorse! So THANK YOU SO MUCH. I say it again & again, it's because of content creators like you that students are finally getting to see real narratives of productivity rather than the usual superficial so called productivity tropes that don't even work. When one creates a wholesome workspace, much of the action to study, create & work flows 'itself'! The 'deliberate' effort to get to study or work is reduced and creativity and work becomes like a by-product because you won't even 'feel' like doing putting in the effort, the mind will be enjoying the process of work since it's getting wholesome stimulus to push itself in the productive direction.
Also, some people might find it to be more comfortable to study on bed. I studied mostly on bed during high school and aced academics. So if that's you, go ahead! Make sure to get something to fix your sitting posture on bed though.
I was just telling a Friend yesterday that Amy uses those screen light protection glasses, and here you are Amy, showing them properly! I think turning on warm light on laptops and phones etc. is also pretty great to avoid eye strain.
P.S. Finally, a top in thumbnail that matches the Caltech's logo color!
Yes, I love how you said "holistic" - I need to use that word to describe my videos and advice more! I super appreciate you being here on this journey with me HumanHuman. Your praise and help to our community are magical in ways I cannot describe.
P.S. Regarding working in bed, I think you are especially disciplined (and more disciplined than me) because everyone else I've talked to will think about work when trying to fall asleep or feel sleepy and want to go on their phone when trying to work in bed. That's why I recommend to everyone that it's likely much better to avoid working in bed. Plus, the biggest factor is that you don't have social media haha!
@@wamyy5 Amy, yes I agree that students need to realize that you aren't repeating things in your latest vlogs, but actually reinforcing and interrelating the concepts to make your content more cohesive and tightly knit. And even if you do not repeat, one needs to assume that many of the concepts you are talking about are related to other concepts from your other vlogs too! That's one of the main reasons I encourage students to explore this channel and watch other vlogs too and share with others so they can relate concepts and form a 'holistic' mental map of your advice from your content.
You are absolutely right about focus, it is a lot easier for our mind to change depending of our environment! As humans we always adapt to our situation, so that factor will make studying or anything easier, if instead of forcing ourselves with absolute discipline, we adapt ourselves and our environment to our best interests, thank you for this great highlight. 😊
@@carolinaCCC5 Thank you, as always, for valuing my guidance, Carolina!

Amyyyy, this video was so much fun to watch!Your setup is really nice and this video definitely inspired me to put ONLY the important things on my desk hahaha. This also felt like a mixture of vlog, tour and a study related video (i really hope this makes sense lol-)
Congratulations on almost 100k subscribers Amyyy! impatiently waiting for the live video. And good luck to every student who is having their exams or about to have them!!!
Prayers for your exams! Ace them! You got it!

Thanks Mariam! I'm glad you enjoyed this style hehe. I agree with the mixture you mentioned!! And thank youuuuu. I'm so excited! I need to figure out how to do the countdown!
And yes GOOD LUCK to you too!
@@wamyy5 Amy, for countdown, I think you'll have to do a Live around when you reach 99.9k because the EXACT numbers of subscribers will only be visible to YOU ONLY. YOU logged in from your account, the content creator. So you can see those numbers in real time and do the Live when you see them nearing very near to 100k.
I like the new video style, its very engaging and can tell both you and Shawn had a fun time with it
Thank you! Yes, we did have fun with it haha
THANK YOU FOR THIS GREAT VIDEO AMYYY!!❤❤🎉🎉 Thank you for every one of your videos you take your own time out for uss! Trust me, your videos REALLY help me out, so thank you😊😊🎉🎉
THANK YOU FOR BEING SO SWEET AND SUPPORTIVE ❤ I appreciate you acknowledging my efforts to help you. You telling me I'm being helpful is the best reward :)
Good to see you are standing some moments while studying. After decades of long hours sitting to work and study everyday, I got a bit annoying back pain now. Therefore, be careful not sitting extremely long in a day, particularly you are young and you can avoid the problem.
Indeed! We should definitely not making sitting the norm
Congrats on 100k
Thank you Leon!!
amazing video with perfect timing!! I'm currently organising these days
Awesome! :)

AH I love these suggestions! So happy you care about other parts of me hehe. I'll add these to my list! Vlog coming in the new year!
@@wamyy5 It is a great idea! I also would love it.
Yayyyy! Can't wait for them!!@@wamyy5
Your videos are so inspiring. Thank you for making such useful tips. Do you have any tips to study many subjects in a day?
Thanks so much for watching :) I'll have to think about that more but I'll add that to my list of video ideas! For now, what I remember is that doing the homework of a class in that class before it's over was super helpful since you're already in the zone. Thank you for asking!
Hey Amy I love that you showed your stack of boxes desk. You brought to life the statement "Do what you can, with what you have, where you are." I'd love to see a video talking about that attitude. It would be so motivational for me : im literally alternating between bf my child + memorizing some verses. And whenever she wakes up i test myself with active recall. Is that the right term "active recall"?
Peace be upon you, Sarah.
Profound statement which you mentioned! And nice vlog suggestion based on it!
Amy reached a 100k subscribers! Wish you could join us at the Live countdown, but you can see it as recorded version in the Live section of this channel. Thank you SO much for taking out the time to write such valuable messages for Amy and the community! YOU are an essential part of this community!

@@HumanHuman. peace and blessing of Allah be upon you too! ☺☺ Thank you!!
Hi, thank you for pointing out how like that part! I do tend to try being resourceful and I find so much satisfaction in that. Ah, you're so amazing for doing all that, but it must be stressful! Yes, active recall is great! I'll add that to my video list. Thank you for your suggestion! In the meantime, a lot of my vlogs discuss that mindset :)
@@wamyy5 satisfaction! I couldn't put my finger on the feeling I get! (@Humanhuman. A SubhanAllah moment 💡barakah)
But no tbh it isn't stressful. It is frustrating when doing homework and I'm in the zone lol I admit. But when memorizing, it actually helps to be away from the book and test yourself
I’ve been feeling really depressed lately because of exams…I’m usually really good at maths and practice everything I can and work really hard…but when it comes to exams I panic a lot and end up making a lot of silly mistakes…this hadn’t been a problem until recently…can you maybe make a video about how to handle exam anxiety?
Nice to see you...
Nice to see you too!
It would be great for inspiration if you put a technical video.. But I wonder what we can put as all is in books and courses we read and how much rights we have..

YAY thank you! We're so close! Yes, like your own comment all you want - I believe we should be our own biggest cheerleaders :)
😀:)
Hi, Amy, what types of students usually tend to be the very best ones at Caltech and other top schools? Asians or Jews or Indians?
Its honestly really confusing how you said that studying on your bed ruins your focus but I feel most productive when i study on my bed but i really think its because i'm used to it or smth but if you can just explain why this is! Thanks!
Hi! I explained in the video, but essentially it's because your brain associates different settings with different activities. Thus, working in bed typically means mixing work with rest, potentially making it harder to focus when working and/or to relax when trying to fall asleep
@@wamyy5 Omg I didn't actually expect you to reply!! but thank you so much this helped I didn't quite understand the video and you really made my day! I am just so happy because really helped me to improve a lot in how I study tbh you are my role model I really look up to you so it just makes me so happy that a you replied LIKE COME ON YOUR SO INSPIRING!
