    Life saver. I've always picked sleep and grades on the sleep-social-grades triangle, but perhaps this video can convince me otherwise.

    Peace upon you all.
    Everyone please give a HUGE shout-out to Amy for the extra effort she has put this time to make this vlog for YOU ALL with a high level of production quality! Not the kind of production quality with filters and special effects etc, but one that has used tech & resources to make the content more informative, interactive & instructional!
    Best way to give a shout-out to the Caltech Queen is to share this vlog with others. I know this might seem like an overused line, but honestly speaking time management etc issue has been an issue being discussed by so many on the internet but hardly anyone is explaining it the way Amy is doing it! To maintain a balance between sleep, study/work etc and other positive activities! Where many have failed to comprehensively outline a plan to manage these aspects of life, there Amy has successfully come up with a comprehensive wholesome plan that inspires you to balance your health and passion! (Maintaining your health should be your passion too.)
    And all that in a high production vlog that mentions & explains tools & methodologies to do that! So we must appreciate all she is doing for everyone here and take out just a couple of minutes to share it with friends. I think everyone of us can do this at least. This will not only encourage Amy to keep being on the growth pathway to make her content even better in the future, but also keep you contented that you are sharing realistic narratives of productivity that show ACTUAL ways to be more productive rather than pumping you up with shallow so called motivational narratives.
    Let's all take a little step today and share this amazing message by Amy! Just try to absorb what I am saying, because we need more of these positively influential time management/productivity etc methodologies out there in a world where fake productivity narratives are so common.
    If you've read till here, you CARE for Amy, for her community, for the world and thus for the human race!

      Ah your kind words are no fit for me! Thank you for always being there for our amazing, smart community and me ❤️ I also love how you said we should prioritize health - I completely agree! On the triangle, I think that as long we were trying our best, sleep should be #1! I'm grateful you gave me a shout out for my extra effort for this video - no effort is too much for you all! :D

    Honestly... _really_ glad to hear this. Time-blocking is debatably the _number _*_one_*_ thing_ that's been scaring me off of _truly_ going into productivity optimisation. Boxing off everything in my week sounds like a flow-draining, will-sapping, living... well you get the idea...
    I actually feel the same about reps vs. time constraints (for the most part) as well, so that tracks. 😁
    Great vid. 👍🏾

    Thank you SO MUCH for sharing these tips that are not just a repackaging of everything already out there. I have an 8th grader with anxiety and we spend a lot of time trying to un-knot her feelings so we can move on to the next task. The feeling of time pressure really pings her anxiety and leads to a lot of feeling 'frozen' -- which makes the pressure worse. Your suggestions for finding systems and habits that make the best use of time are absolutely invaluable. Thank you thank you thank you.

    I'm a ninth grader here, learning have always been easy for me, I have really good grades (between 19 and 20 out of 20) but I am extremely anxious all the time, always stressed about my grades because I've always thought they define my worth ( like if I didn't have the grade I wanted I would think I'm a failure). And seeing how she works so hard compared to how I work (hard too but not as hard as her) I feel like I'm not doing enough and I will never succeed. Because everytime I do something on my own that I normaly enjoy doing, I feel guilty about not studying. I mean I don't plan my life like that and I don't study in waiting lines so it makes me feel like I'm so lame. I would really like to make my whole life about studying like her (also sorry if my english is bad I'm learning)

    I am done with my mid terms and am preparing for preboards. I wasn't able yo do *my* best in the mid terms and even if I ranked first I could've done better, it was just that I has participated in so many debates, muns and those had drained me because I well, didn't win them all. I finally have time to manage everything and focus on boards (pretty big deal in Indian) and have been consistent lately which feels good tbh. I genuinely enjoy studying and well your videos are a great help so yes, I hope all good things for you. This turned into a rant i'll get back to the video now, lots of love

    I haven’t watched the whole videos, but I have to pause it to comment that I’m immensely grateful because you have create the digital planner that I have searched for the whole year because I cannot master Notion to make it aesthetic and organized🎉. Besides, I find your videos are like practically helpful for me and also the other people ,like I have watched a lot of self-help videos, but they are just Talk some thing that in general, and do not have a real action about it but you are different, so I just wanna say thanks I really like your video’s style

    I have binge watched handsome number of videos of amy, and I got to tell you that something about the stories you shared gave me a new perspective, I'm looking forward to my success. My grades in last test were 3 B1,1B2 and a A+(in computer science I love it sm). This test tho although I flunked chem test cause of cramming I did pretty well in others , I will update when I get my stuff graded. Until then lots and lots of love and support to you amy ❤💗
    Ok here's the update for the test I gave a week ago 3 B1 and 2A2 , I suprisingly got 3rd rank in chemistry from my class I thought I flunked but anyways. I feel like small progress is still progress. Gonna achieve that all A+ one day💪
    And I've got another set of exams in a couple of days. I fell sick but I'm still grinding hard let's see the results this time . Also I got ranked 4th in my cls this time. Thanks amy love you!!

    Hi Amy. Thank you for your advice!! I really appreciate the video. I know you mentioned that you don't like to time-block. I'm curious how did you balance school/college tasks with other areas of your life e.g. personal, hobbies etc.? How did you provide structure into your day or make time to do personal tasks (e.g. admin, house chores etc.)? Also do you use notion for all tasks, even small ones or would you use reminders instead?

    • @wamyy5
      @wamyy5  7 місяців тому +2

      To be honest, the most structure I have is planning around my set events like meetings, events with friends, meals with my family. I typically go by priority of tasks and if there's something like laundry to do, I'll start that first since I know that it will be running while I'm doing other things! Essentially, I use a combination of Google Calendar and Notion since Google Calendar also gives reminders for my tasks and I block my events :)

      @kiaraa1505 7 місяців тому

      @@wamyy5 Thank you for replying :) Would you use Notion for smaller tasks (e.g. 5-15 minute tasks), such as replying to emails? Also with priorities how do you differentiate a task must be done (e.g. homework) from tasks that need to be done (e.g. grocery shopping). I've heard people mention you should only have 3 max. priorities for the day. However, often there are other life admin things that also need to be done.

    • @wamyy5
      @wamyy5  7 місяців тому +1

      @@kiaraa1505 It depends on if replying to emails is something that you might forget to do if you don't track it! No need to differentiate tasks that both should be done on the same day. Just put them both at the top! There comes to a point where too much tracking and categorization takes away from the point of actually executing.

      As for your question regarding avoiding distractions while studying, you need to understand how your mind works. Your mind is basically looking for a break from study when you want to use phone or do something else. So don't try to force yourself to avoid the break. Instead, simply 'replace' the 'activity' for break with a healthier one. So rather than using the phone uselessly or doing something else unhealthy, bring a healthier habit/activity for that study break your mind is looking for, example: go to home garden and gaze at the open sky while breathing deeply, or have an indoor plant to look at during study intervals, or just close your eyes & lie for a few seconds. See what positive healthy activity you can use to give your mind that 'break' it's looking for. This way, your mind gets the contrast to be refreshed.
      Also, try your best to make the process of study fun for you. This is one of the best ways to study long hours without losing focus. Have you ever wondered that while watching your favorite tv show, your mind almost never gets bored. Why? It's simple: you are enjoying the 'process' of watching the tv show because all your curiosity, fun and dopamine etc is invested in that 'process' of watching. So find ways for yourself that you actually start enjoying the 'process' of studying, You can start this by observing how your mind reacts to while studying a subject you really like or is your favorite. Then apply those thought patterns to other subjects as well and see if the interest continues in those subjects as well. Keep trying and exploring to be interested in the process of studying. And think of those amazing end rewards too for motivation.
      Hope this helps.
      Let me know if you have any other questions.
      And I am really glad to see you actively participating in Amy's community consistently. You were really active in her recent Live too!

      I think that we should give ourselves at least a little "me time" when we wake up so we don't dread a new day. Studying often feels like a drag and while it is technically for our own good, it does not feel that way. So I like doing this on the weekends:
      - Wake up not terribly early or late
      - Eat a good breakfast with my family
      - Stretch
      - Look outside or walk my dog (when I had a dog)

      I’ll add tasks like “study for x” in my current week or later weeks ahead of the exam!

    This content is poetic. A book I read on this topic was a similar work of art. "Dominating Your Clock: Strategies for Professional and Personal Success" by Anthony Rivers

      Peace be upon you.
      Really glad to see you're aiming for top US colleges for your education and the level of effort you're putting to achieve that!
      So when it comes to academic classes/courses/subjects, try to choose those that align with your chosen spike in extracurriculars. (For example, if your passion is Mathematics etc related and you choose to pursue extracurriculars in high school focused on Mathematics, then you should mainly choose classes/subjects that are Mathematics & STEM focused, along with one or 2 humanity subjects like English Literature or Sociology.) To know more about what is spike in extracurriculars etc and how to portray it in your US college applications, I suggest you watch Amy's vlog 'Common App hacks to make ANYONE Ivy-worthy (+how to make a SPIKE)' and read my pinned comment there carefully.
      Then you can watch Amy's vlog 'How to get into a TOP 10 COLLEGE'.
      And if you have any other questions regarding studies or US college admissions etc, feel free to ask.
      Also, you can ask your US college admissions process related questions on the recorded Live on this channel titled 'College Admissions Webinar - Amy & Olivia'. (just go to the Live section of this channel and you'll find it).
      Amy said previously on her channel, that video will now be the go-to college admissions "forum" per se. And she or Olivia will answer your questions there too related to college admissions.
      And seems like you're new to Amy's channel. WELCOME! This channel has an amazing wonderful supportive community so feel free to drop some positive feedback on Amy's latest content and ask your questions.
      Looking forward to seeing you in the future too on Amy's content here on UA-cam, be it her vlogs, UA-cam Shorts or community section posts. Amy puts so much effort in creating genuine honest candid content that works to give the best results for you all in your academics and life. She really really cares about her viewers. That's one of the reasons your experience on this channel will be positively unique!
      Stay blessed & best wishes. Looking forward to see you here again soon on Amy's community.
