    Mine is my 22nd motorcycle and it is by far the most awesome machine I have ever had the chance to ride! 2 words, SMOOTH POWER!

      That’s a great find number 22. Those words describe it very well! Keep on riding…

    After all these years of having Rune with me, the bike has not faded away and continues to delight me. Thank you very much for the wonderful introduction. With pleasure from Japan.

      Thank you for that delightful comment. I’m glad you enjoy your Rune as much as I do.

    It took 15 years for me to get my hands in one. Cherry red, completely original, super low miles. It is the crown jewel of my motorcycle collection. Every time I take her to stretch her legs, immediately becomes the center of attention.

      Nice, the red really looks good. I bet people turn heads more than the blue that I have. Sometimes people know what it is, either way they want to talk about it. I’m glad you are enjoying it and riding!

    The Rune and my VTX1800 came out at the same time and I had a chance to get 1 but at $31K it was too much for me. I loved the VTX and served me well and had it for approx 6-7 years. This was in Texas so made use of it well, went all over.
    Thanks for this video.

      I do understand, it’s a lot of cash and even more back then. The VTX 1800 is a great bike and I’m sure you enjoyed. Thank you!

    Guess it's about time to put some new shoes on my Rune, last ones were installed in 2009. Time to consider whether I keep it as the show piece to my fleet, ride it or let it go. Second owner, 4,300 miles, I'm overseas most of the time. That last part is about to change in a year or two, we'll see what happens. Either get a tractor to work on the place or a BMW GSA to enjoy Idaho.

      That is a tough choice. I’m thinking to go for a ride and see how you feel.

      I live in the UK and own a 2005 rune that is now a custom built trike a beautiful work of art with 43k on the clock and no rust or pitting on the chrome.

    Absolutely the coolest production bike ever. But I hear the chrome becomes a big issue in time. And I would guess all that chrome is blinding at the right angle.

    • @MotorcycleAuthority
      @MotorcycleAuthority  2 роки тому +1

      The only chrome thing is cleaning around the exhaust but once I found a cleaner that just melts it off, I had no problems. Strangely, I’ve had more reflection problems on other bikes.

      @@MotorcycleAuthority what did you find that works the best? I’ve heard of that issue on the exhaust as well but not the factory chrome going bad. Aftermarket, yeah I have some chrome plated intake manifolds and one of flaking so I never installed them.

      I use Flitz polish around the exhaust. It works excellent. 89 thou kms on my '04. No issues with the chrome

    Who made the seat? Beatiful bike and awesome video :-)

    • @MotorcycleAuthority
      @MotorcycleAuthority  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you! Corbin made the seat. (It had a Corbin tag). I bought it with the custom seat so I don’t know more than that. I can tell you that it is practical and comfortable. I would like to know more about the history though.

      Also, will need passenger floorboards or foot pegs if you don’t have already
