- Welcome back to our channel. Life with the bridges.
We are the bridge family trying to get the most out of this rat race we all call life.
In September 2021 we found out our dreams had come true. We were expecting a new addition ….to the Bridge family.
We spent the next 9 months, like any normal parents would, preparing our life for the arrival of our little boy.
On the 11th of may 2022, at 11:11pm we were bless with the birth of our son. HE WAS PERFECT. We instantly felt love like we had never experienced and our family of 4 we always dreamed of. Was finally complete.
We had the most magical first 8 months with Teddy experiencing all that life had to offer. UNTIL on the 24 of feb 2023 he got diagnosed with high risk AML Leukaemia.
We spent 6 months (184 days to be exact) at Great Ormond Street Hospital. He endured 2 rounds of chemotherapy and a full bone marrow transplant in hope that it would save our son's life.
We documented every part of his journey on this channel to raise awareness and give childhood cancer the exposure it deserves.
After riding the hellish and unpredictable storm Teddy made it to the end of his treatment and RANG. THAT BELL!
You are joining us now in our next chapter of this journey at home at bridge HQ, as we try to rebuild our life and continue to spread awareness about what it’s like to have a child post cancer and transplant in hope that this second chance at life we have been given. IS FOREVER.

Our perspective and what we want from life when spending 6 months in hospital fighting for your child’s life, let’s just say has changed a little.
All though myself and Katie have been lucky enough to travel the world far and wide in the past and now are slightly restricted for now due to Teddys recovery. This doesn’t mean to can’t dream, explore and go on adventures from our doorstep to show our son what life has to offer.
TIME is something that none of us have control over and let me tell you. It isn’t on our side. I don’t have time. We don’t have time and you don’t have time. Yes I said it. YOU. DON'T. HAVE. TIME.
So if there is one message we would like to spread to all of our community here on our channel. It’s live for today as tomorrow is never promised.
We are going to breathe deep, dream big, travel wide step out our comfort zone and go and grab life with both hands and make the most out of what ever time we have left on this earth. AND WE are taking you along with us. So buckle up as LIFE. WERE COMING FOR YOU.

What a great holiday. I grew up in rural Wales. We’d take a picnic onto the Dolfor hills which had wild ponies grazing on it. There’s something magical about seeing wild animals roaming free with no fences keeping them in and running over the grass looking for them. That is real freedom. It will be wonderful when you are in your new home. ❤

Y’all are an amazing family with an amazing dog! Kate being able to replace the tube took a lot of stress off Teddy. I am thrilled you were able to have a fabulous week.

You two are amazing parents.Tbh I think it's a good thing that you find it so emotionally devastating to put his g-tube in. One of the saddest stories I've ever heard was a mother talking about her seriously ill toddler. They had always done their best to remain stoic and clinical while he was having injections or other painful procedures. They thought it would help him feel less traumatized if they treated it all like normal part of life. That was until he began to randomly walk up to his parents, pinch them as hard as he possibly could, digging his little nails into their skin, while saying, "Be bwave. Be bwave" in a monotone voice. Then, he would calmly walk away and go back to playing with his toys as if nothing had happened. It seemed as if he legitimately believed that his parents were causing him pain and discomfort simply to teach him to be brave. I can't imagine Teddy ever feeling that way. Even someone as young as he is would be able to tell that you have no choice, are doing all these things because you have absolutely zero choice in the matter, and it's tearing your hearts out.
So sad 😢
I could watch you all for hours especially hearing Teddy speak and seeing him smiling

I’m a 72-year-old mother of two grown daughters, and I have to say you guys are excellent parents! I know it’s partly because you can never take having Teddy for granted, but nonetheless, you’ve stepped up and done a fantastic job!

I can so relate to the tube coming out. My son is 34 years old and has had multiple NG tubes, G tubes, J tubes and NJ tubes. He has been tube free for 3 years now. Teddy handled the tube placement like a champ. Hugs 🧸

Ik how it feels when tubes come out. My situation was different because mine were do to Anorexia but I’ve had many from 15-20 years old I’m now 23 well on April 16th but I still struggle and may need more in the future so I feel for your son but his case is more severe then might but IM SO HAPPY HES CANCER FREE AS OF NOW!!! I loved that you gave me the amazing gift of watching your family on vacation. It is with privilege to be invited to share in your amazing experience and your intimate moments into the life of having a child with and now without cancer. Also, the fear as well of the trauma on what is the journey of fear that is associated with what goes through your thoughts on such a deep level and on the surface that you share with us and others. It helps to educate me and I know it is of massive help to others who are going through AML Leukemia Childhood Cancer. If I ever meet someone with AML, I will refer them to your incredibly beautiful, honest channel. Teddy delights me, I cannot imagine how much he delights you and your family! Although, as you mentioned, he is a toddler now, he will still delight you, I have a two year old grandchild, she is wonderfully behaved for us, yet for her parents, she now is a toddler as well and the car seat has become a rage of terror, as well as the cutting her food “wrong” and it changes as the wind blows at every meal. Lol
How Teddy learns all those words, only to pronounce them later in perfect Eenglish! (Difficult for a non-native english speaker like me.) Those parents…how loving, compassionate, patient, inventive and skilled! And Willow seems to be a real water dog. Lovely area of the UK, will look it up online.

Hint for putting the ng tube in (my daughter had one when she was a bady). The nurse told me to out in the freezer for 15 - 30 minutes before inserting it. It makes it stiffer and it goes in easier. And i had her suck her pacifier.

Christine here, so glad to have had an amazing time. Teddy is just so cute definitely have a place in my heart for him❤. As seniors we have just booked a trip to US for our granddaughters wedding, this maybe the last time we undertake a journey like this, so making the most of our time making memories along the way.
