Thanks, you just kept me from throwing away multiple cans of paint, and rematching colors for a few projects for my home. Major hugs!

Thanks for the tip using large plastic jars as containers for left-over paint. I am thinking of using the big mega-vitamin jars I typically discard for just this purpose. Thanks again!

That is a huge help for me. I've got 12 gallons of old paint in various colors. I was going to throw them out, until I learned that the price of paint has increased considerably. A quart of Sherwin-Williams paint is now $25 US. At that price, I'll strain the old paint and use it rather than spend my whole project budget on new paint. Thanks so much!

Hope you look at these... I have some oil paint that is good and separated with what seems like dried paint in the middle between the black top and white bottom. Should I take that film out or try mixing it all together?

My brother in law has his own paint business and uses pantyhose all the time. He also uses them on his paint sprayer to keep it from clogging. He picks up left over paints from many paint retailers and he mixes them to get desired colors. His father was a painter and he worked with his father growing up. Old school. I have learned a lot from him in the last 30 years working with him from time to time. I wouldn’t want to do it as a career as I don’t like working with all the various chemicals. I do like painting as a hobby.
FYI: It is important to know what you are working with, have proper ventilation, wear a ventilator when working with harsh chemicals such as strippers. People are mislead by certain strippers such as citrus strip just because there are no harsh smell and it is MASKED by the orange scent. It has ALL the same hazards as the harsh smelling ones. If you are unsure look it up on the safety data hazmat sheet.

I love that !!! a brilliant idea, a screw lid is so much better, instead of the normal press down ,which is useless and is not effective, have to clean it each time, and get damaged and stuck , horrible.

I have some dried kid's acrylic water based paints.
I tried adding some hot water to get it soft again, but it just bleeds some watery color. Anything else I can do to save the kid's water based acrylic paints??
They R all dried but the white paint!

I've got about 15 litres of expensive acrylic paint, left over from 5 yrs ago, when the house was first painted, almost rock solid at the bottom, i've got it broken down now after 3 hrs of stirring and chopping from fist size balls to pea sized my drill has got to hot to handle i keep giving it a rest, but after 15 min to hot again, back to stirring by hand. I asked my wife before if I could put my big balls in her tights, but i think i'll use cheesecloth after her remark. : )
