Probably the best comedy ever, just love how the guys chemistry was perfect, always had each other's back in time of need. Always have a complete rerun every couple of years.
Just finished my rewatch in April.

craig dixon : You have never said a truer word. Every 2/3 years I binge watch every episode from every series. Still tear up when I think of Bomber's passing. Best bit of acting? Timothy Spall. Opening credits. Broken down on his bike on the motorway on a cold, dark, wet night. The look on his face deserved an Oscar. Theme tunes great. Merle Haggard's mate, Oz, singing country in the club. Unbelievable.

Brilliantly written. Just lads having a bit of banter. Luckily my wife was from that neck of the woods and could translate when I got lost.

Delberto.Great year 1983. I left school in 83 and went into the building trade. The cast of the show.Oz, Neville,Dennis are geordies which is only 40 miles from where i live.

Auf Wiedersehen Pet was a great series, I would always tape all the programmes on the old VHS recorder due to going out on Saturday nights then watch them the day after, rewinding my favourite parts over and over to watch again.
Auf Wiedersehen Pet = great television back in the time .. 80s.
This series means so much to me. I wasn't even born when it was made but my Grandad who I never got to meet loved watching it back in the 80's. My mum introduced me to it when I was a teenager and I've adored it ever since. It's really special to me to know I'm enjoying something that my Grandad loved before he died. Almost like we're watching it together somehow 🙈

I never liked soaps but this was undoubtedly one of the best TV serials I have seen. Superb earthy humour.
RIP to all the late actors and actresses, they all played their part to make the tv series as good as it was.
Every time you sat down to a new episode, you just knew they'd get it right.

ian , remember my dad working away from home at the time and it was real to the story lines of the script , a bunch of blokes working on sites away from home , very true to real life. Good times.

This was one of the best series, ever. We wouldn’t go out on town until after it aired, which says a lot for a bunch of single, carefree young uns.
I loved this show back in the 80’s. I met big Pat Roach a few times over the years. A pal of mine had a tyre fitting business and Pat used to use it for tyres as he had a whiter roller with a private plate Pat 1. Last time I saw him he was in Great Barr in Birmingham not long before he passed away. He was a huge bloke with a big heart. Genuinely nice bloke.

Pat Roach knew my mom and dad as they used the same bank and was in there every thursday
Aye Bomber was a great bloke .
He was a great wrestler as well .
It was from the wrestling halls I met him many times over the years.
He had a great career both inside the ring & outside of it with the film roles he did , but gone too soon .

Pat Roach used to always be in one of the railway arches near the bull ring market in Birmingham ,it was some kind of scrap place or tyres or something.I used to park in the railway arch opposite and would walk past him every morning ,he was always scruffy dressed like he was working ,he was a cool guy used to talk to everyone.This was 1987 I was a Pet fan then and still am to this day I binge watch it every year and still love it

Just simply amazing. I consider myself lucky enough to have seen these when they were originally on for the first time. I watch and rewatch the first two series over and over again. Never get bored of them!

In it's day a non miss programme, great. I remember the non swearing, Oz calling Barry a "duck egg" Such a laugh.
Yip I watch from start to finish ever few years, hard to beat.
It's good to see that most of the older actors are still with us. Brilliant series.

When ever I have felt down I just put on the lads to cheer me up. Its has got to be the best line up ever. From watching this as a young boy to now being chippy myself thanks Wayne lol I will never stop watching this true TV masterclass 🍻🧱

Timeless comedy drama, Oz and Barry absolutely hilarious. Not many programmes you can watch over and over and over again, but this definitely one of them. You can really connect with the characters. Absolutely brilliant programme and a great post! 👍

Sad to see how many of them are no longer with us. A fantastic series, still occasionally catch an episode on the more obscure channels. Series 1 being my favourite.

Yeah. An eye opener indeed that "Young Neville" was actually older than Dennis !!!
@tazzatamania: He can also sing apparently and his daughter is an opera singer. Of course he went on to play Robert [ Robbie ] Lewis alongside the late John Thaw in Inspector Morse and its spin off Lewis, and Dr Jack Kerruish in Peak Practice.
during lockdown i've watched series 1, 2 and 4 and it still made me laugh out loud. "How fatal?!"

One of the best series ever made, i`m watching the re-run`s which are back on. I did not know that so many of those fine actors, are no longer with us. RIP to them all and thank you for giving us so much enjoyment🖤.
If your watching the re runs on channel 'Yesterday' they cut so many scenes out and totally spoilt it.

This was one of the most natural, actually… believable series ever produced. It was an ice breaker for using actors with regional accents. I watch the reruns on UA-cam when I need something to perk me up and laugh. Thank you for the insight to where they all are now.
Iconic show that's as funny today as was back in the early 80's when first shown....series 1 has got to be the best some very funny memorable scenes.Oz in hospital after recieving a blood transfusion/Barry's bike leaks petrol hut burns down,Moxy says "This takes me back"😂😂😂R.I.P to all the cast members who are sadly no longer with us today Gary Holton/Caroline Hutchinson departed far too young....Will always be remembered.....

a truly great series one of the best ever produced in this country , as wayne would say they was some top skirt in it as well , brenda , vera, dagma, christine, ,hazel, vicky, christa, once he died in real life and was replaced by his son it was never the same again , the third series in america was nowhere near as good as the first two had been . along with oz he was one of the strongest characters in the show and could never be properly replaced . they truly were the magnificent seven.

Probably the best drama series of it's era. The TV licence was actually worth paying for back then.

Loved Auf Wiedersehen Pet, especially the first 2 series. Great actors and great characters, you can tell they were all really close friends and that comes across on screen. Favourite character, definitely Oz, Jimmy Nail portrayed the character perfectly.

This is just brilliant, well done for posting this. This is without doubt my all time TV series. I can remember not being able to wait for the next episode each week. I am really surprised so many of you obviously loved all the series as much as I did (and still do). All I can say is you all have bloody great taste!👏👏👏👏👏👏

Thank you for posting this video, a step back in time. I love Auf Wiedersehen Pet. This series inspired me to take up a profession in the building trade many years ago and I've never looked back. Brilliant this will never be matched these days with any 2020 television. The cast are all stars and will never be beat or forgot. Love you all.

As an 80's kid, we would be trying to talk like Oz in the playground, 'Aaaah bollocks man' shouted at mates was common :-) seems an odd program to like as a kid of 12 or 13 but we all really loved it.

Probably the most realistic characters on any TV show, I feel I personally know these guys, we've all known an Oz, and we've all known a snotty pub landlord like 'Winco' Arthur Pringle. BTW, did anybody watching on Monday night (Yesterday channel) clock Sheila Reid playing 'Betsy' (Bomber's wife) before she went on to find fame (notoriety?) as 'Madge' in 'Benidorm;?

Wonderful series. I still watch it again every few years and enjoy it just as much. I remember when it first came on TV, being a southerner kid I found the accents difficult to understand at the time.
