LYRICS:
If you have friends in Gloryland
Who left because of pain,
Thank God up there, they’ll die no more
They’ll suffer not again
Then weep not friends,
I‘m going home
Up there we’ll die no more
No coffins will be made up there
No graves on that bright shore
The lame will walk in Gloryland
The blind up there will see
The deaf in Gloryland will hear
The dumb will talk to me
The doctor will not have to call
The undertaker - no
There’ll be no pain up there to bear
Just walk the streets of gold
We’ll need no sun in Gloryland
The moon and stars won’t shine
For Christ himself is light up there
He reigns of love divine
Then weep not friends,
I’m going home
Up there we’ll die no more
No coffins will be made up there
No graves on that bright shore

As a former baptist and Catholic convert, these simple Appalachian gospel songs are the best America has to over regarding praise and worship music.
When I hear this song I picture a soldiers funeral on a beautiful hillside in west Virginia buried amongst his forefathers who fought and died before him.
Ralph wasn't singing here , he was preaching a sermon!
I agree my uncle died of cancer when you're back in 2023 on Donnie k&d 941 under the phone for his funeral and if I get the funeral home liked it
Amen amen and God boy😊❤
My sweet daddy has been gone two months today. He had so much trouble in this world, but he never wavered in his love and faith in the Lord. He has no more pain and no more sorrow. I miss him more than words can express, and this hurt is worse than any physical pain I’ve ever felt but one day, one happy day I will see him again.
💕🙏🫶
I hope you find peace and a smile at least when you hear Ralph sing. I know it helps me with our losses here ❤
😢 we want my uncle back in July 30th after the day after his birthday camper within a nothing about it it took me very quickly😊 Donnie queer Pendleton county 9401
First time hearing this song, it gave me goosebumps.
That's any Ralph Stanley song😊
This is only one of many Ralph Stanley songs that get the tears flowing. What a blessing.
Thank-you Fargo (Season 5) for bringing me this song.
Love this song, especially Mr Ralph Stanley’s version!!! Scripture teaches us: “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;” (Ecclesiastes 3:1-4) Thank you Gaither Family for sharing! ❤️👏✝️
Been atheist all my life, and I don't think that will change any time soon. Never understood why people believed in God or Christ or all the gospel. Didn't judge it, but I didn't get it. After listening to this...I don't know. I think I get it.
I I think it's about humility, the song kind of brings all the walls down.
@@chrishasyourkeys2808 Agreed. No matter what your faith is, the clock is always ticking
Put it this way - there aren’t many great songs dedicated to nothing. If anything you appreciate the devotion. And the singing…
@@robertyates7858 That is true
🙏GOD........... Bless you friend
I find more meaning in this song than any of the modern worship music. There's a depth and theological content, and a a realness that I find lacking in most in what I hear in contemporary services.
I was saved by grace and Baptist by conviction
Ian Scott Totally agree! I am an Evangelist!
I think of this song after my best friend was killed in a utv accident
Amen
I couldn't agree more. This music represents a deep spiritual worship and being saved... Not just lip or hand service. Anyone can raise their hands up to praise God but is it because others are doing it or because God is stirring your heart and you can't not praise him? None of my friends like this music but I will never stop being an old time christian.
I cried. What else can I say. I’ve just been moved in a way I’ve never experienced.
What a beautiful song. It's simplicity is hypnotic. This is simple and honest faith.
I certainly believe when God hears people singing like this about Him, He can't resist coming near to His people and celebrating with them.
A.D. Brother, 2022 A.D. !! Praise
amen to that
yep, the eternal, omniscient, omnipotent Elohim YHWH is intensely interested in what people do with their dying flesh.
So true
Thank you, Death, for sparing Dr. Ralph Stanley over for so many more years. He's finally joined the angel band, but the wonderful music he and Carter and all the Clinch Mountain Boys left us will live forever. We've lost a true American icon.
Amen.
The soul this man had is impossible to replace. He was definitely a major influence and had a voice that stood there like a cypress stump in a hurricane, strong and unmovable. Go rest up there in glory land Ralph Stanley. Keep them Angels Singing till we all get to a better home .
He was truly a gift from God!
Hallelujah
Amen I look up to him as a Father.
Amen!
a great man indeed
Those harmonies give me goosebumps. Think you know harmony, try that.
I've been to opera venues around the world. Twice to Berlin Philharmonic for Beethoven's 9th Symphony on New Year's. Nothing compares to Ralph Stanley and his harmony. Absolutely beautiful.
One of the best live performances I've ever seen.
I grew up attending church with singing just like this. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I'm guessing a church of christ?
Carter's voice has surely been missed in this group, he will never be equaled by Ralph or any other bluegrass singer.
This will never get old, I hope it lives forever. Reminds me of my Grandmother, God Bless her soul
glory to god and the lamb forever, what a promise of eternal life, over in glory land
I cant help but tear up when I hear the sound idk why but it hits me different
The smile of appreciation and wonder on the man’s face at 2:01 says it all.
God is Great
Watch that guy at: 1:43 left of the woman. THAT's how i feel when i hear this beautifull song
I love this song! Yes praise GOD in Gloryland we 'll die no more. There won't be no Alzheimer's either. My precious momma is suffering with this disease. She was a good woman, one of the best mommas an she loves the LORD. Sure hurts to see her in the shape she s in. But one day soon she 'll get a new body, thank you JESUS!
Praising God even now for her complete healing. God is ABLE!
My friend Tony loves this song!
"That song talks to me!" Tony A.
Im 5000 miles from America, not religious at all and i absolutely love this song for some reason, i always have it on my playlists!
me too buddy! don't know why...but it always hit me into the heart...
JESUS had that way to get to your heart don't turn away from it
Because God is speaking to you, friend.
Open your heart and let him in 🙂
@@lukef1586 That's good advice mate. A lot has changed in 5 years. I found God in tough times and now I speak to God every day. Even got a favorite bible verse; Isaiah 41:10
@@thomasparg1981 Do not fear: I am with you; do not be anxious: I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.
Take good care, brother
I've lost my Mother and Father now. I love them more than anything on Earth! Both loved older music as well as I, myself. I had his recording played, "Going up to live in Green Pastures," at my mammas funeral. Cried my eyes out. And I played Hank Williams wonderful version of, "I'll Fly Away," at my dad's funeral.
Truly inspired, yes truly inspired, from on high. thanks for the share, happy 2021.
May the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace.
RIP Mr.Stanley....such a great song I know the place he is talking about I will see you in Gloryland some day! Thank God!
I always loved this song. Miss ya Ralph....you ARE THE BEST!!!
That Jack Cooke tenor makes my hair stand on end
MY DAD LOVES THIS SONG
so do you this was the first song you learned
I absolutely love this rendition .... domt hear this sort of thing anymore
I'm not religious but this song has gripped me for about 6 years. Amazing. Makes me cry actually.
Please don’t get hung up on religion. Always place your personal relationship with your lord and savior Jesus Christ first. It’s spiritual brother not religious. Mr. Stanley was a gift from God. As a favor to yourself do not throw your salvation away over the topic of religion. You are spiritual and God prefers that open channel with you. But a little Bluegrass music doesn’t hurt the soul either. God bless brother.
Thank you JESUS for Your Love
Praise God for music like this!
tears streamed down my face thinkin of my dads passin away hearing this song
I'm atheist but this talent is amazing! Harmonizing is astounding!
Please give your heart to Jesus and let Him save you from your sins. You will never regret it. But you will regret it if you don’t give your heart to Him.
What's greater than the harmonizing is the place they're singing about. Just imagine how greater the harmonizing will be there. And the only way there is through Christ. If there was another way we wouldn't need him. It took God 6 days to create the earth can we imagine what heaven will be like. But only through Christ can we see him. I've seen people on their death bed who would not accept Christ as savior and repent take their last breath and the look on their face was so horrifying that they saw where they're headed and there's no turning back after that . Today is the day of salvation tomorrow may be too late
@@amyzhu1027 Can't change opinions after they've been made
@@cooperwilliams6269 God is bigger than opinions and is able to reach the hardest heart.
@@amyzhu1027 Don't think grace meant to start this but okay.
Rip. Thanks for everything.
Dopesick brought me here... ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great song, and what a brilliant choice to end the series.
nothing like some good harmonizing...
This has me smiling from ear to ear!
God Speed. Dr.Ralph..RIP
One of the best songs ever
To me he was the epitome. I miss him dearly. God rest your soul Dr Ralph Stanley❤
I can’t wait to go
Home ❤ home to the father one day
I love Ralph Stanley's music!🙏
This is why I play Blue Grass.
reminds me of my grandma, NO IM NOT CRYING, there was something in my eye...
Legend. He is surely missed.
On key from start to finish, acapella. Impressive.
He had that unique mountain voice.
Definitely the best of later configurations of The Clinch Mountain Boys.
I really miss Ralph.
Want this played at my funeral.
I am forever grateful to the Coen brothers for introducing me to Ralph Stanley
Beautiful song God Bless All and Thank You God for everything ❤️
Up there we will die no more...
I love Ralph Stanley! Such a great musical talent in blue grass. Such a sought after talent that the late Bill Monroe that was associated with the origin of the term “Bluegrass” sought to have Ralph Stanley in his band. Once he was told that his obligations to his brother far exceeded his want from Bill Monroe bluegrass, Bill was needless to say: pissed! Especially hearing all the great music he belted out through the years. With the most prominent song of Bills being “Blue moon of Kentucky.”
Amazing!! There is no words to say about
One of many reasons why bluegrass is my most favourite music genre, is the fact that the songs always give me goosebumps.
I love it too but loads of other music / musical styles can do that to me too.
Look up "Sacred Harp and Shape Note singing".
Still done some back in the hills.
AMEN!! Praise His Holy Name!!
Seeing Mrs. Vestal really punches me in the heart😢😢😢😢
If that doesn't put a lump in your throat, you are not alive.
Pure mountain sound.
God put Ralph in my life
Who - atheist? Buddhist? Zoroastrian? - is not moved by the exquisiteness of this legacy? and when not - in 2100? in 3000?
Thank you, GV, muchas. for posting.
The Lesson is this Friend....if your moved there is a longing in your soul...for Truth...
Wow the chills
You want to feel the Power of God's love...right here....THIS makes the hair stand up on your arms
Not too many songs move my soul, but this one really does...
I cant stand being around many Christians, but I’ll always love Ralph Stanley
I can’t wait to meet Brother Stanley when I get Home to Gloryland.
Truly heartwarming
Rest in peace, Ralph. There won't be another like you

I first came across this song and just liked how it sounded.
Then I listened to the lyrics and am like 😭😭😭😭😭
I’m not sure why I’m drawn to this, it’s definitely not my style of music, yet I enjoy listening.
I'm not religious but the more old country gospel you listen to you hear Jesus calling.
