I've lived in Nevada for 35 yrs. Always explored the eastern Sierra mountains. From Lassen to Bishop. Drove 80 a thousand times cuz I'm from Montana. Recently started exploring more of Nevada and I'm loving it. South of Austin has become 1 of my favorite places. On a good wet yr it makes me think is this even Nevada.

Definitely, I think the Reese River Valley near Yomba reminds me exactly of Montana!

@CalNeva Jarbridge is my next place can't wait. I know gas is cheaper the farther east I go. We're still 4.01 here where I live. I see your driving a crv that's smart. My wife also has 1, and we take that little thing everywhere. My truck sits on the side of the house unless it's loaded with the quad and pulling the camper.

@@Wolfkiller24 Yes, very smart on saving gas. Here in Hawthorne, NV I ride my bicycle all around town to save gas for our trips...plus it helps keep me trim from my occasional Miller beer indulgence.

As always, a very interesting trip. I see you finally captured a mountain lion on film, ha! If you strike it rich, I'll take the burros please! They would fit in my backyard just right😅. If I strike it rich, I'll get you the cougar and the Buffalo!

The beautiful and mysterious Esmeralda county! I named my dog after that great place, it’s one of the most fascinating counties in NV. Gold Point looks like a cool spot - for some reason I thought the owner of the town rented out those cabins. At any rate, I can’t blame him for buying a ghost town with his winnings! This looked like another fun excursion! Stay safe and warm, the next big storm is coming!

Hi G! We had a good time checking it out. It takes a cool person to realize that Esmeralda County is fascinating. I hope Esmeralda has a warm doggy house with lots of dry fresh straw and a light bulb...or better yet gets to sleep inside during this doozy of a storm headed our way. Batten down the hatches and hang on for the ride!

So thankful for her love and protection. Yes, the storm is certainly brewing!! The wind is something wild tonight. See you guys in the next one!

This is a really, cool video. Tonapah, NV looks very interesting. I wonder if that diverse collection of figures for sale, is just stored there... Goldfield strikes my fancy... a great RV spot.👏🏻 Thank you for providing us with so many enjoyable facts, along the way, Doug, and Kellie. That corral out there was interesting. Gold Point, what an awesome place to visit. Seven, permanent residents... and some of them must be the kids you ran into. I wonder how the children are schooled, etc.🤔 The fact that it has postal service says a lot. That collection of old vehicles is super. Thank you, so much Doug, and Kellie for taking us to these places. I really enjoyed our tours. Even though you didn't include your lunch, it's still a fascinating video.

Hi Rhonda! Sorry, we had our lunch in a later video....I will include the cookie clip. But....I was able to get the two wild burros in there for you! Ah yes, I love how so many facts are brought to life by the humble rugged Joshua trees! Schooling in the ultra rural parts of The West: many ranch kids are home schooled or go to a school with a single teacher with perhaps 7 or 8 students ranging from second grade through high school. An acquaintance of mine had a graduating class of only 9 at his HS! I knew a rural homeschool family from the boondocks whose daughter earned a scholarship to Oxford, England. Tonopah is one of my favorite places and I have a history there from my childhood...it is super interesting. We were going to cover the recently renovated historic hotel across the street from the Mizpah, but ran out of time. We will cover it for everyone soon. The figures are for sale and ready to be delivered to you in Massachusetts. Catch you later my friend!

@@CalNeva Thank you, so much for including the burros... and the tidbits you imparted to us. WOW, I really appreciate that info on the schooling. That is fascinating. A scholarship to Oxford... that says quite a bit.🎊 Another interesting video showing us diverse places, many of us will never see in person.
I hope that you and Kellie enjoyed your lunch, and especially the 🍪 🍪.
Unfortunately, I live in the Historical District of our town. We have *rules we have to follow. I would love to see the Historical Committee's reaction, if I bought a few of those figures, and plunked them on our front lawn, Doug.
