27 minute top to bottom run- bit.ly/LongForm...
The San Juan Mountains in the Southwest corner of Colorado offer some of the most scenic and rugged high country terrain in the state. The monsoonal flow has been keeping the dirt in perfect shape and the wildflowers are head- high currently. This ride starts at about 10'700ft and climbs well above 12'000ft, into the alpine. This was "first run" for Chris, considering how tall the flowers were getting, I call this a win. This lap can be accessed off of Coal Bank Pass as well as from Molas Pass, depending on how much alpine you want to access. We rode this as a loop from the bottom of Engineer Mountain Trail and just made it out of the woods as the mid-day showers were moving in. Best of times with Chris Boice. #followcamfriday flower smashing goodness. This was ridden on my Yeti SB130lr with a 160mm RockShox Zeb. Perfect all-day high-country weapon.
Get out there and enjoy the high-country this weekend!
Yep, pssssssssss 🚬, pass it on....
Gorgeous trails, phenomenal riding, master editing and eating random things off bike parts in the garage = Why Nate Hills is still the #1 POV MTB channel
Nate is about riding with friends, not jabbering constantly like the rest of the UA-cam pack. These riders have the chops to let their skills do the talking.
Wait.... You don't want to hear about what I had for breakfast and how I lubed my chan.... lol
I have never in my life seen anything look simultaneously both extremely challenging and fun at the same time. Wow. Just wow.
That is what I call mountain biking! You guys were ripping, that side hill off chamber action was insane!
Tacos and beer indeed!
Love the van, super sweet!
Ooooo, spy music. I like all the random noises you make while riding. Always adds a bit of excitement to the video.
I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: Best MTB channel on UA-cam by far. Whoever is second is wayyyyy behind. Keep them coming brah. 🤙🏽
Cheers!
Don't say it enough... but thank you for all these great videos. I love Mountain biking to a fault/obsession like most. I bike my local trails 3+ times week but nothing compares to these destinations. I'm lucky to get 2 or 3 MTB Trips per year and while I'm on a good run, Breck, Moab, and next Bellingham, being able to see these rides on my lunch break keeps me sane and hungry for more. Another thing your vids are not about Nate Hills.. but about the ride and I appreciate that as well.
Thanks for the kind words friend, stoked to hear I am motivating you to get out and ride. What this is all about.
I still can't get over how good Chris is on a bike
Chris is one of the most gifted riders I have ever had the pleasure of riding with. Textbook technique.
@@natehills9388 Yeah. I get giddy when I can be on the same second with (*admittedly sniped) Strava segments... but I know I'm doing it with commitment and having a fat kid aero advantage, not with actual bikehandling talent.
You always find the raddest trails. Don't forget to snag a few fish out of that pond while you're there.
Looks so cool with all the high plants.
Here is a fun game. Every time Nate says, “yeah!” or “yes!” you have to do a shot! 😂🤘
"Oh hoh"
Or “yo”
No doubt. Every 15 seconds or so.
Drinking games.
This is insanly beautiful. GRREAT!
I hope you we're able to hold at least 2 cans of beers after that arm pump. Thanks Mr Hills for this awesome trip!
I always budget enough arm strength for a couple of post-ride libations, haha.
The San Juans are my favorite place on the planet.
Unreal setting.
The texture and build of these runs look paralyzingly grin-worthy.
I always rate the quality of the trail on how many laughs and hollers Nate provides.
Dudes...you shredded that ride like a block of cheddar. Excellent swirl of technique and flow. Was that gimballed? Great share, thanks!
Thanks for watching. I always film with a gimbal for UA-cam.
Nice flow mixed in with with just enough chunk to keep you on tour toes!
T-Storms in AZ today- Sunday (which we need), but no Shreddy for me.
AZ, powder to mud.
@@d0u6s ha ha, yup. Trail 100 absorbs the water pretty well, but the rest will be mud fest.
Did the Molas Pass to Engineer Mtn, the hardest ride of my life (for a sea level rider).
Eng Mtn descent is so fun! One of the best I have ever done.
Beautiful loop!

It's great to see some rain out west!
Superb trail, nice green "grass" :)
Definitely Colorado will be a nice place to go Ride. 😎
I want that mercedes sprinter! Trail looks fun fo sho!
Chris can build you one.
Nate, pretty extreme trail on Coal Bank Pass! Enjoy the tacos and beer as I get out of hotel quarantine tomorrow here in Bangkok. Blue skies until next week. Jg
Great video Dude😎😎
How do you decide which bike to ride? Good stuff, appreciate your skills.
Always depends on the situation. The terrain, the people I am riding with, what I have with me.
Grew up in Durango, hope you hit raiders ridge to snake charmer, twin buttes - ed and flow, log chutes dh up junction creek, last part of Colorado trail to Kennebec pass, and star wars on west side of town.
So much good trail in Durango.
What a nice man😱😨😷😎😎😎😎👍👏
Краса! Вeauty!
I’m no Chris Boice but how do i get you to follow me around one Friday?
Keep up the great vids!
Nice 🤙🏼
Saaaaak!!
Brutality senderos, 💪🏾🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🚵🚵
He say Narnia? NICE!
haha
Row-day
Topisss!!! 😎😎😎👏👏👏👽👽👽🤙🤙🤙🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
No under-biking going on here, thank goodness!
Two words --- Si ck!
...maneuver, foot down turn around
amazing nature singletrail and no bear? :) FREERIDAY
Trails are LUSH this year. This trail looks well worth the drive from the FR.
All those trails out there are overgrown, janky, and unmaintained. He cut out all of the climbing bit in the 2nd half and the 5 miles creek traverse at the bottom to get out. You've been warned!
Heavy localism vibes.
