I bought one today! With all of this craziness its time! My dad has wanted me to get a gun for a long time. I chose this gun because its a 9mm and its very affordable. Its small, but I am very small women so it should work nicely. Next is to find classes. Yes I have shot guns before, but I want to educate myself! Thanks for the review.
I purchased the CPX2 also with pink grip. Love it! Not to experienced with guns, but hit the target almost every time. With everything going on today, I’m ready to protect myself and property if need be.
If you have failure to feed issues out of the box, check to see if the magazine springs are installed backwards. Both of mine were backwards. I turned them around and it solved the problem.
Thx for the review. 100% agree with all of your pros and cons. I didn't have the pinching issue using the flat mags, so that's what I use. I filed out the finger grooves to get a much more comfortable fit. Was not difficult to open up. I also filed down all of the mold lines and sharp corners. I bought a couple of these. Awesome for a spare truck gun.
Why do so many ppl complain about the trigger??? I've finally come to the conclusion that the folks complaining haven't spent much time in their lives shooting revolvers. Which incidentally used to rule the land 40yrs ago. Quite frankly IMO those were inherently safer guns because of that trigger! A person that is proficient with the DOA (revolver type)trigger seem to have a leg-up, and do very well with the newer striker fired triggers. However ppl who only like to use striker fired guns because they are "easier" tend to struggle with the DOA trigger. All n all nice video.
7 years EDC. NEVER a problem shooter with over 3K rounds. I did have to send it to SCCY to replace slide & magazines because of rust developed (sweat) because of literally EDC for 6 years (If I'm wearing shoes, I wear the SCCY). Guess What? SCCY took care of it. Got a Remora Full cover sweat shield IWB holster to prevent the sweat problem (hot summers in GA). Have had many much more expensive pistols, but always go back to my CPX 2 because of the reliability. Not so with the others. How many pistols have you had (have) that went 3K + rounds perfectly? I know it will always go bang.
I'm waiting for my first one now but as I understand it, unlike most striker fired pistols that always have the striker cocked, the SCCY isn't. Pulling that long trigger is to cock the hammer as well as fire it at the end of the pull, just like a double action revolver. However, it will take a lot of practice to overcome the long trigger reset.
i just got one at a show today, i wanted something cheap for a new gun. i was skeptical about the bottom half being plastic. but when i got home all ive heard is mostly good reviews so im pretty happy. i kinda bought it based on the design and didnt expect much from it but glad i chose it now
Just got one myself- previously ordered G2C are unavailable from a warehouse infected with C0-19. I have the same issue with the middle finger. Overall happy just to have something to stuff my 9mm in and it fits in my old soft holster- same with 2nd mag. ...surprisingly not too gouged with the price today... Thanks, *A.
@Mike Oxlong So then the longer pull of DA revolvers is a dumb idea?Same concept. A lot of the 380 pocket guns also use the longer trigger pull for safety features.
moniterlizard07 yea but most revolvers are also single action.. at least any id buy Are. I totally understand the DA trigger on these guns just not for me
I actually prefer a pistol with a decent pull. Not too hard, but enough. Great budget pistol. Not a glock, not a sig, not a S&W, but still American made. It’s good and reliable as long as you use good quality ammunition.
I nabbed the CPX-1 (with the safety) and think pretty well of it. 9mm in an affordable and compact CCW platform. Any civilian defensive shooting will result in seizure of the firearm during review. With this you get the deliverable on accurate, (much more)safe, reliable, and plentiful firepower on tap in a small package, without the consternation of property loss afterwards... so long Hi-Point...you've just been knocked off the top of the pile.
The CPX-1 is flawless. The CPX2 IS VERY AMMO SENSITIVE. I have a few videos showing how it blows gun powder back in your face. I also ran it against a Jimenez JA nine and surprisingly the Jimenez destroyers the Sccy Cpx2. Over a thousand rounds and no malfunctions. The Sccy has a long trigger pull and runs 115 grain Remington flawless. Everything else especially Winchester was nothing but problems
About ammo selection, Guns are like women, they like what they like and you can't talk them out of it. If this comment makes me a sexist, so be it. I'm 73 years old so get over it.
Nice review. I really like your objectivity. I have seen a lot of videos on this gun where people talk about the trigger. I don't think it is evaluated properly. This is a DAO gun. It cannot be compared to a single action gun. It would be the same as complaining that you have to push in the clutch and move the shifter in a manual trans car, and then say "Gee, I don't have to do that in this automatic trans car." Exactly. They are 2 different kinds of cars. It's the same for guns. Personally, I LOVE a manual trans car and that is what I've been driving since 1991. People who have only driven automatic cars can't quite understand why I like the manual cars....because it is foreign to them. Same with a DAO trigger. It's foreign if you've only been shooting single action guns.
I also won one at a Gun Show here in St Pete! And I already had one, because I really love this little gun! Got used to the trigger pull and now I shoot it and carry it often. Put hundreds of rounds through it and never had a fail. People don't trust them because they are cheap. (inexpensive) I wouldn't call it cheap. I have two of them now, and I haven't got around to selling the new one. I don't think I will! I seriously like this fine little shooter! Am I nuts for keeping them both? Maybe. Thanks for the video. Nice job! I think you might want to keep your CPX-2. Or give it to me, and then I will have three!
I have two of this both CPX1 both fire all ammo perfectly even steel ammo!!!! The only problem I had was 1 pin started walking out put lock tight on no problem since. I load 11 in mag and 1 in pipe total 12. Have FDE& SNIPER GREY love them both, over 1000rds each. Trigger will break in as you shoot the gun more and practice with it, shoot 115 grain sime124 & 147 Grain through it . Then load your hollow points through it. Pope off a few rds with it the more you use it the easier it runs. Thanks Ham&egger
At first i said wtf.but it really is a very good and reliable gun.esp.for anyone.most esp.women.#1because it does not have a safety.and it can not go off or discharge from accidently dropping it,as it doulble action only.the hammer is always at rest.until You to pull the trigger.its a long pull each time.which is a training issue.a safety in a time of need is a another problem one does not need.when you need the thing to work.not a gun for a house full of children.but one for a bartender that works late and has to close and lock up bar.usually the last one to leave.when no one else is around.i give it high marks all around.4.5,out of 5.

Picked up a CPX-2 about a year ago. Seems to be holding up fine, only about 400-500 rounds through it though. Only issue I had was last winter, about 10 F outside, maybe had some condensation freezing up in it after bringing it outside, hung up on a few rounds, easily cleared but a little concerning for a conceal type gun. Also worth noting, my G17 doesn't care what temp it is or where it is , it just works. But for a sub $200 gun I can't really complain. As for the pinchy finger thing in this review, just swap out the pinky extender for the flat base on the magazine. If they (SCCY) ever come out with a .45 version anywhere near this price point, I'd buy one.
I really wanted to like this pistol...the size, weight and feel are good but the mag release button/lever fell out after 30 rounds and I had to send it in for service. Disappointed in the quality.
Take a ballpoint pen or similar tool, and push down on the button on the bottom of the magazine. Then slowly slide the bottom plate off. Be very careful not to let the inner plate and spring go flying out. Then just slide the other plate on!
@@gregb6469 you're welcome buddy. Hope it helps. On my CPX2 I made one a flat bottom, and left the other w/extension. That way if I suspected I might be having magazine issues, I can easily tell one from other. However I've had that pistol for almost 2yrs and no problems with the mags.
Well, mine ran great at the range, but when I got home and went to clean it the takedown pin wouldn't come out so I started progressively prying a little bit harder and wiggling things around and the top of the pin snapped off so now that I can't take the thing apart at all. I took it apart and cleaned it before I went to the range, so it wasn't like that from the factory. Disappointed.

Mine has been shooting a wide variety of range ammo. It refuses to misfire. This gun has been really good at the range. I haven't tried shooting my new one yet. But my first one is well broken in. I have never won a damn thing until I won this gun at a Gun Show raffle. I am thinking this will be my good luck gun! Maybe things will change after years of bad luck. At the least, I will have two pistols that I like a lot!
I bought mine when they first came out..no issues or misfires unless bad ammo.its my truck or car gun, but I have carried it..it shoots great at the range and is very accurate for the money...and lifetime warranty is great and goes with gun if it's sold.

Jeremy Guenther does the g2c have a safety?
@@JoannaJedrzejczyksForehead yes but. Don't habr to use it
no lifetime warranty tho
Jeremy Guenther Pass...
Taurus May claim lifetime warranty. But whereas SCCY will turn around your gun, your door back to your door in 10 business days or less...With Taurus you’ll be lucky to get your gun back in 10 weeks...
@@JoannaJedrzejczyksForehead well that's your choice but the g2c is a better gun looking and reliability wise. But to each their own
$209 here in Iowa.My girl want one.Idk...
It's a really good gun just don't shoot armscore you get hang ups
Picked mine up at bass pro for $180 they price matched a local farm store, had for about a year and half now no issues. But i like my smith .411 better for everyday carry.
Imagine shoot with 2 hands
Long hard trigger because of no active saftey
They’re 10 rd mags, but you kept getting 11 shots without 1 in the chamber. Hmmm.....interesting.
Seemed like you were very close to the target
Learn how to " STAGE " a trigger bud !!!!!!
Uh.... it's double action.
Learn to shoot a double action bud youngsters can't shoot any more except striker fired
Several mags had eleven shots.
That trigger is enough to make me never even consider this thing lol
My gun fell apart. Not a big fan of this gun.
How the hell did it fall apart? Want to hear the details. Did you do something to it? Be honest!
Idk how anyone likes that 12 lb trigger

Make in America!!
Do you feel like I could be shot with gloves on?
So no safety on this thing
Not a gun for putting 1000s of rounds threw .. SD ONLY..
Yo that white box looks like dirty shit
Sccy 2 would not shoot white box in my gun
Mine has been shooting a wide variety of range ammo. It refuses to misfire. This gun has been really good at the range. I haven't tried shooting my new one yet. But my first one is well broken in. I have never won a damn thing until I won this gun at a Gun Show raffle. I am thinking this will be my good luck gun! Maybe things will change after years of bad luck. At the least, I will have two pistols that I like a lot!
Finish-grip-trigger All shit
Missed 1/4 of your shots in two mags, this gun is trash.
Piece of junk. Spend the extra money and get a decent firearm.
I bought mine when they first came out..no issues or misfires unless bad ammo.its my truck or car gun, but I have carried it..it shoots great at the range and is very accurate for the money...and lifetime warranty is great and goes with gun if it's sold.
What like a Glock piece of junk
