Since watching ''Awkward Fish Guy'' play Dark and Darker: I rock Rick Owens daily, graduated, and I am now 6’2. More importantly, my father finally came back from the store with some milk and we both cried in each other’s arms while watching ''INSANE SOLO STEALTH ROGUE | Dark and Darker''
When you have shrine buffs that give the sparkle effect on your screen, it still shows up when you’re in stealth, that’s why that dude was able to immediately track you at 2:10. You still get the ambush buff, but I like poison dagger with rupture a little more for early equipment because ambush scales off weapon damage and poison is flat dmg + bypasses armor. Rupture + poison also go through armor, ambush and weaken don’t (weaken gives armor pen for 5 secs on the target though so you have to burst) if you do a rupture, you get 20 dmg, stacked with poison passive that’s an additional +4 dmg per hit, so 2 pokes is 28+14+14 for 46 total dmg before armor. But if you’re ambushing with weak point you’re getting 28 for 2x50% multipliers, + whatever a strike at 50% armor debuff is. Probably closer to true dmg at 14, so that’s 10-14 dmg left on the table. Just some food for thought. I’ve tried both builds and sometimes I just run rupture + weaken and use invis pots, dropping hide all together.
Question. If a rogue gets the first hit on you or gets the jump on you, is that it? Are you just dead at that point? There are times when I’ve even gotten the jump on them and they still manage to kill me:( I’m a fighter btw
@@sick0fthis I’d practice actively blocking against skellies and stuff. The block collision is really good, I’m not great at that part myself but I’m getting better. Rogues are squishy so if you get two good strikes to the head in they usually go down or have to retreat. They are high burst high risk. Learn your weapons swing type, some weapons thrust, some sweep, some do both in a pattern. The claymore, for reference, is really good. It has a thrust followed by a top left sweep, it’s combo is designed to go perfectly over a shield
@@sick0fthis if a rogue does his thing properly with a half decent weapon he can chunk you on first hit after that his attacks are gonna be consistently lower than the first hit. As a fighter you will probably wanna pop ur 2nd wind right away and land a hit or throw out swings with your superior range to buy yourself some thinking time, if rogue is using weakpoint this lowers your defence for a few seconds too, so buying time is good. 2-4 hits from a fighter should kill a rogue. Remember they're also fast as fuck so don't chase especially if ur covered in armor. If a rogue goes for u it's either all in or if they fail their all in they immediately run or risk dying.
The way you use darkness to your advantage is amazing, it never hit me... you are harder to spot + make them pull out a torch so they are not ready to fight
A couple of games I've turned off dozens of lights leaving a trail of darkness to retreat to if I encounter a team, works out well unless there are night vision mobs around lol
You play it just like me, the best weapon the rogue has is the surprise attack, not wearing boots and using the stealth perk and taking down the healer/mage/ranger first to outplay parties.

playing as a solo rogue and finding another solo rogue face to face is like finding a friend scav on tarkov lol, you either become buds or enemies. I love how you play rogue because i do the exact same things that you do. I beat a team of 3 using all of the methods
I really wish they would make stealth more viable against mobs. Like a hidden detection meter when you're in the shadows so you can actually hide in them. Being able to sneak past dormant mobs would also be great, sure it would mean rogues could technically sneak through the entire map but if you had a mechanic say where the largest chest in a room is opened, it awakens all the mobs. Id settle for just being able to use the shadows to sneak through though. Maybe they balance it with a mechanic such as mobs investigating an area if they see a torch be put out or hear you walking on a particular type of surface. The game has so much potential and I am so excited for it yet I have this deep fear that it will fail. The last game that got me this hooked so easily (even when dying 90% of the time) was The Culling, an amazing game that is now completly dead. I really hope this game goes on to achieve it's potential!
I like the idea of shadows hiding you from mobs, would be really cool! I'd even settle for it being a rogue perk only, just because it is such a rogue thing. And I feel you, I love this game a lot and hope it prospers for a long while. I too played the Culling back in the days, it was such a breath of fresh air back then :D
@@AwkwardFishGuy It would be awesome if they add some more environmental features for each class further down the line. Maybe a cursed door that only the Cleric can open, or environment traps that can be used by Barbarians, like a falling rock. I hope this game has a long and productive future but tbh im happy paying £40 for it as it is, haven't been this addicted to a game since The Culling

Would like to see them make it so torches spawn randomly off or on. Just to randomize things a bit. It tends to tip players off sometimes when you turn off torches.
Some players are oblivious though. I followed a team of 3 from the start just turning off torches behind them. Killed one and took their portal, other died to the storm. None of them ever thought “was it always that dark the way we came?”
Great stuff man. I was trying to level up a solo rogue last night after they kept assassinating my solo ranger. I did a lot of the same stuff, but didn't do nearly as well. I just felt so weak against everything. Even when I got the drop on someone and got off a bunch of stabs in their face, they or their squad would just one or two shot me.
Yup, that's how it is a lot of the time :/ That's why you NEED higher dmg daggers before you attempt 1v3's :) Also dodging around and generally trying to make them panic is a good idea
If you're planning on attacking from your hide you should be popping your weakpoint before going in to hide. I noticed a few times u didn't use it at all and the fights would have been less close
Hmm, yeah, I sometimes do, but I'd like to have the option to hide again in the dark if I don't find the right moment, and you're quite visible with Weakpoint on. Or I guess I could stop being a little pussy and just fight >:)
That's cause it's a custom edited version using 8 different instrumental "stems" from the game rain world. That game uses a dynamic music system depending on the "threat" that is threatening you, which kinda inspired my edit of it. You can check out the normal full song by searching for the title in the description :)
There is an audio queue but it’s kinda feint, there’s also like a spectre of you for half a second, it’ll be like a ghost version of you if you do it when they are looking at you. With stealth passive you can move 10 steps though, if you walk or crouch. Sometimes if I need to split I’ll run away, hide and crouch then 180 and walk back at them so they can’t just hit my last known location Also poison does not show up in stealth but I think rupture and weaken do. At 2:10 or so he got spotted by the guy who opened the door, that was because of the shrine buff that gave the pink sparkle effect, that will show through stealth still

I go with weaken. Not so much that it's crazy damage, although it's pretty good, but it's to initiate that initial ambush with a big nuke so that the enemy shit their pants, making them easier to handle.
It’s only 50% dmg buff and it has to happen within 3 secs of leaving stealth. Poison + rupture is better IMO. You still get the burst from rupture, but also the passive of poison makes farming skellies a lot easier.
Personally I usually don't have an issue with securing the first kill, since people are usually so surprised and panicking anyways, but sustained damage in the fight thereafter can be a problem, so that's why I roll with poison ^^
It's called Dark and Darker for a reason ;) But hey, if you can't see, they can't see, and the only difference is that you know where you are hiding and they don't >:)
Just pick your fights veeery carefully, as many skellies as you want, but never more than one ranged character. Also, if you're doing high-roller, always bring A LOT of meds and campfires
I try to time it with their actions, so when they're making noise. In that moment they were unlocking the door, so they probably didn't register it in the sea of noise.
There's no ability called Shadowmeld in the game, if you're referring to the text that reads "Shadowmeld"; that was my in game name. "Hide" however is the invisibility, and it makes you invisible for 60 seconds. With a perk called "Stealth" which allows you to walk 10 steps while using the "Hide" ability. Hope this answered your question :p

yep taking out the ranger first what a fantastic idea, ranger just gonna headshot you twice and kill you melee range

armor penetration? move speed? force? agility?
Agility gives you speed, but yeah move speed and flat damage are incredible because daggers do low damage per hit but attack quickly.

@@AwkwardFishGuy clickbate , Just saying this is pretty standard gameplay for a rogue.... Its what you do, hide in shadows, stealth creep, stab stab, run away rinse and repeat etc. Cool video but again its just standard rogue stealth gameplay not 'Insane' i was expecting some sick moves and pro strats that are 'Insane'. Also backing music is actually Insanely good lol
@@3556df44 Haha thanks! Yeah lol, I mean, the clickbait kinda worked man. I'm not insanely good at any game, but I get some ok clips every now and then and I love editing them together with music. But I also like people viewing my video, so, you know...
The music is actually 8 different tracks used for a dynamic music system in the game Rain World, so most of the editing is bringing in certain instruments to fit with whatever is going on. Sorry for the bait ;P
