Chaotic discord was all I used when bard first came out lol. On ruins I’d just aggro every mob and make them fight eachother. Was a fun time

I’m pretty sure Allegro and Accelerando give triple their base buff. So Allegro is an 18% action speed buff. It just takes two seconds into the buff to stack up. I know this is an older video/guide though so not sure if this is relevant or known now.

buckers can roll with + weapon damage fyi bro, I normally pick up 1 weapon damge +3% PDR for cheap. Armor rating and wpn dmg is expensive though

If you skip 2 notes in Unchained Harmony, but only get 3 perfects and 1 okay, landing you a "crappy performance" will that not unlock doors?

@@TheMetasora I only ask because that is a pretty important detail to add to this video. You only care about playing the songs fast in combat, so if you can play a crappy performance and still open doors then that is pretty easy to achieve.

So when you’re doing your buffs if an enemy is in the circle do they also get the buff? Also say your teamate is in the circle of weakness do they get the de buff?
buffs only apply to ur teammates, debuffs only apply to monsters and enemies

FYI:
- Not optimal: Playing "Rousing Rhythms" back to back in the beginning of the sequence of songs played.
- Optimal: Playing "Rousing Rhythms" once at the beginning of the sequence and once at the end of the sequence.
Reason: It isn't mentioned in this video, but all the songs in the sequence have a maximum base duration of 120 seconds when played perfectly, while "Rousing Rhythms" has a maximum base duration of 90 seconds when played perfectly. These values and more details can be found in the Dark and Darker wiki.
Once in the beginning because it affects the songs you play as follows:
+2 dexterity -> play songs faster
+2 resourcefulness -> played songs last longer
Once in the end because:
The +2 resourcefulness now also applies to the "Rousing Rhythms" song, which if not played once more at the end, would have been even shorter for the shortest song because of its 90 second maximum base duration.

@@Jadriandnd No. Resourcefulness scales your song duration. The song duration affects everyone the song applies to (you and your team or enemies) while buff duration only applies to yourself. You can notice that a teammate of yours that has a lot of Will (and therefore a higher buff duration than you) will have the songs that have been applied to them, expire slower than they do for you.

Hey Yami. You are really underestimating bard. Saying at zero gear you only have 14 mem cap and therefore cant take the songs you recommended is just wrong. By taking Storyteller you get +3 taking you to 17 mem cap. Then by simply having rousing rythms up you have the 19 mem cap you wanted for your initial build. I also think Harmonic Shield is way overrated for what it does (15 armor rating and 15 mr)
i didn’t think storyteller was good but maybe ur right. still on the fence w harmonic shield but i feel like it’s good if ur doing a pdr build like me

@@theturtleking4205 Yeah true, You can put any lute songs last into your wheel to increase your effective memory capacity further, with a green lute you can take alacrity and languor which are really the only two good lute songs for free.

I started to play Bard too as solo now and im still learning. i managed to learn troll and cyclops to kill them fast eneugh. but one thing i think that will be good. is adding the piercing shrill. ( i think its called that ) becous the 25 true damage are alwayse nice to have when they camp behind the doors and also when you fight agains a druid and they go in to rat form they will instantly die the range on that is really wide. maybe think about it or wat are your thoughts about it ?

Peacemaking is only useful if you have a teammate that can stay out of the range. In solos it’s pretty much 100% troll lol
while i know bard is the best solo class, i cant bring myself to play it.
it just looks so stupid, juggling 3 instruments on the run as some sort of fighting style.

When I was playing bard going against barb, I tried to get in a shriek of weakness then kite him and get surv bow hits off. But his pdr was just too high to chip. Do you just have to stay away from barbs or is there something you can do about them

I would say story teller is bis for doing 0 to hero on bard so u can 10 song efficiently bc without it ur not getting all 10 songs take it off when u can use ur songs without the knowledge buff from it

does persuasiveness also increase the duration of stuff like song of silence, peacemaker or shriek of weakness? cause these are debuffs i was unsure if those are affected
@Y4mi Lore Mastery gives you more Regular Interaction speed than Fermata, 24.7 vs 19.6. Both together give you 44.6% Regular Interaction Speed. Unless we're talking about camp fires and traps that Resourcefulness gives you... :D

I don’t understand I tried the good to great music perk but it just said playing crappy music whenever I copied you. Did they nerf it?
You can only skip one note, the rest you have to play perfectly. Unless its the really long song, you can skip 2 notes
What skeleton skin are you using and does that provide any benefits to the class?
its the nightmare skel it adds 10 armor rating but -10 magic resist
If you play Allegro or Accelerando (the 8 second drum buffs) at the end of your rotation they'll remove all of your musical note auras after the 8 seconds are up. If you don't purge them like this, you can't hide in shadows because the notes are luminous.
It looks like this isn't super relevant for your playstyle, but coming from Rogue I really like the option to extinguish some torches and get the drop on someone.
Sidenote for other new players, potions also glow in the dark so if you want to hide make sure to move them off your belt/utility slots. You can equip them while you're running for no movement penalty so it's a good habit to get into. Even if you're not in shadows potions are so bright it makes it really easy to spot you across a big room or through cracks in the scenery.

@@vajas6656 Your shortest buff song lasts for minimum 90 seconds, but realistically it's more like 95-100 which is plenty of time to move a room or two and get a couple bow shots on an unsuspecting target, or open the engagement with Languor for free or whatever. Or even just stay hidden in the shadows if it's not a fight you can win. You're not playing your drum the whole time and even when you are it doesn't *literally* alert the whole map. It's only audible 1 or 2 sectors away depending on the size.

My points bard isnot a rogue:
- Bard is not a rogue
- He plays funky and loud music
- Without buffs, you are a weaker fighter, so you need to constantly buff yourself
- Bard doesn't have perks, that silences his footsteps or gives invisibility without making sound
- Bard isn't a rogue
When I first started playing Bard, I used Encore and always had Harmonic Shield last in my rotation so it could just play it for me.
Also, if you've got ADHD and you're not sure which class you want to play, play Bard. You are _always_ doing something.
