I made macrame jewelry and pot hangers back in the 70s. So glad it's popular again! But I never thought of using fabric! Thank you!

I can't wait to get started on my FIRST rug.
I enjoyed your upside down turned around unedited video, it didn't make a difference to me. You are one ahead of me since I've never made a UA-cam video.
I live in the USA...
Glad it was helpful! Have fun with your project!
Top!!👍

Muito interessante
👍
Thinking I might try this with plush blankets, do you have anytime tips before I try? Love your videos
Wow - great idea. Cut the strips first and then wash and dry, and it will save you quite a bit of mess. Let me know how it goes!
My birds would have a heyday with your work stand! Lol
Right?!
Beautiful, just beautiful! Sounds easier than many others for me.Love it...but ..where am I going to find colorful sheets like these?? Well, I'll enjoy the video n thank you very very much for showing us.
Thank you! Appreciate you watching!
@@DIYOnTheHouse So far, I've followed yr instructions on no-sew braid rag rug n they turn out soft, fluffy n nice.Haha, I've also completed one for my nextdoor neighbour using her sons' old TShirts.Actually enjoyed the whole process.Very therapeutic. Thanks again n greetings from Malaysia.God bless u with His creativity n the work of yr hands, sister
I want to thank you for show me this is very interesting, but I have a suggestion for you. Could you take a giant clip to Hut the material
Great suggestion!
I LOVE this. I want to make a stair runner which needs to be 18 feet long! 😳. Once the fabric is cut into strips, how long do you estimate it would take in terms of hours?
Also, I see that you've added lots of length to the strands. It would be OK to add as you go wouldn't it??
Thanks in advance. X
I would totally add as you go. For the purpose of the video, I wanted to be able to show you how big of a rug 30' strips would make. For you, I would make them roughly 10' long and then add as you go. I would love to see a picture of your project if you don't mind, diyonthehouse@gmail.com
@@DIYOnTheHouse Thanks so much for replying.
How many hours did yours take after the strips were cut?
I will certainly send a picture when it's done. 😁
Why not use a couple if clothespins to holdvthe cardboard in place?
You can sure try that!

Hi, have you ever tried using old towels to make this? Thank you.
Yes- I tried, they turned out okay. The terry cloth can be tricky and very messy.
Could you do this with strips of denim, like old jeans? Or would denim be too stiff?
This is one I think denim would work! Because you don't have to pull it tight. I am guessing that you may want to do 1" strips instead of 1 1/2". Let me know how it goes if you try it!
Just wondering the same thing 🙂
@@Yooperchic Stretch denim will fray and break. zJust an FYI
@@cavelleardiel thank you😊

I love the rug but I found it easier to add fabric to the lengths on the dowel as I needed it rather than have to pull the wound up balls through the knots.
YES!!! I wanted to try to calculate how long of fabric strips made my rug - but that wasn't necessary, I agree, in hindsite, adding as you go is the way to do it.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤👏👏👏👏👏👏👏IRAN
👍
It looks so difficult! I can't figure out the 2 inner/2 outer (middle?) parts.
I think you are referring to how to make the knot? It is a square knot. Here is a different video that I show how to make the know, maybe this one helps. ua-cam.com/video/rs06xi70EfU/v-deo.html
@@DIYOnTheHouse Thank you. I'll let you know how it goes.😁
Is there a problem with washing and drying these rugs? Made a crochet denim rug years ago and it wouldn't dry! Finally threw it away.
This is how we wash them - and then I line dry them ua-cam.com/video/zCDsES-AVmo/v-deo.htmlsi=aagtQws-diGkiZNy
@@DIYOnTheHouse Thank you!

funny moment 👩🏼🦳👱🏼
I wanna learn it, but it's too hard. All I do is plat stripes of cloth together.
If you can plait, you can do this. Just give it ago.
Beautiful
Thank you!
