I think you missed the Piragua. Its scrapped or crushed ice,in a cone form placed upside down on a paper cup and covered with syrup of your favorite flavor. Its very famous on the Old San Juan bay.
Im from Puerto Rico and there are a lot of more places to go when you come to travel and a lot a more food, like mofongo, arroz con habichuelas, alcapurrias, pinchos that are the things that puertorricans like to eat more, the beach that you can go are mar bella in Vega Baja, manatees in Manati, crash boat in Aguadilla, flamenco in culebra, that are the most beautyfull beaches in Puerto Rico. When you travel to Puerto Rico dont go only to the old San Juan go to other places too .
We went there last summer. My family enjoyed the Moro fort . So much history to see there. I felt like Puerto Rico is the combination of the best part 🇭🇹 and 🇺🇸. My family go to Puerto Rico every few years. We LOVE it there. Everyone was Super nice. We felt so safe.
Limber is not crushed ice. It’s actually an ice with flavor. Piragua is the crushed/shaved ice and they pour a flavor syrup. But nice job done in the videos! Glad you enjoyed my island.
I was blessed to have a friend in high school who invited me to go to Puerto Rico with her to visit her Grandma and her Titi and Cousin. I didn't know what to expect before I went. The host family (friends of my girlfriend's parents) were a little nervous when they found out I was coming. "What do we feed her?" they asked. I told my friend that whatever they make, I'll eat--if I wanted to eat burgers and fries, I can stay in the states. Everyone we visited was so warm, loving and welcoming. I immediately fell in love with the island and its people. I also fell in love with the food! And OMG, did I get a chance to eat. Every home we went to welcomed us with hugs and kisses and then invited us to eat. Puerto Ricans are my adopted people. I love the people, the food and the island. If you plan on visiting, don't do the touristy stuff. Go Air B & B and get to know the natives. There's so much more to the island that tourist attractions and shopping. The people are warm, wonderful and friendly. You won't be able to keep from falling in love with the whole island. I was so blessed to be able to stay with a family that called Puerto Rico home. I dream of eating rice and beans, mofongo and bacalao. I want to go back and rediscover the people of this wonderful island!
If you love San Juan, you would love the paradise on other cities, as Culebra Flamenco Beach, Icaco Island on Fajardo, the views and food from the Mountain, the best Dawn you would see on Rincon or a beautiful beach as Crash Boat or Las Ruinas on Aguadilla, there's a lot to see and food to try outside San Juan, like Piñones, Ponce, Arecibo (some Caves) There's a lot of things waiting for you on your next trip ❤️🇵🇷
Worst service in there. The cofee its good but the mofongo it is so blah. I visit every year and last time I decidedly I was never coming back. There is a lot of places better than Manolin, my family is from there and fhey don’t like that place. Raices restaurant ( touristy) or any chinchorro around there its so much better. Bacardi its free, I have necer pais a cent.
Great video. I was raised in PR and you pretty much hit the essentials. Good job! Only one small error: A limber is not liquid. It's basically fruit syrup frozen solid in a cup which you suck on while it slowly melts. What you describe in your video is called a piragua and it's also fruit syrup but partially frozen like a slurpy. Limber by the way was named after Charles Lindberg the guy who flew over the Atlantic in the 1930's. It's the way Puerto Ricans pronounced his name. Again, great job and thanks.
I was there in Sept and visited most of the spots in your vid. Brought back the feels and makes me wanna book a flight again. One spot we hit that was amazing was Punto de Vista rooftop restaurant in San Juan, great Mofongo with garlic sauce.
Welcome to the island and thanks for coming here. I loved the vlogs. I'm so happy that you tried Mofongo. Is one of the best dishes in the puertorican cuisine. Next time you should try alcapurria and bacalaito (famous street food). Preparation of alcapurrias: The dough surrounding the meat, the masa, is made primarily of green banana and grated xanthosoma ("yautía") in most of Puerto Rico. The meat is often ground beef, such as picadillo, but can be any chopped meat like corn beef or seafood. The masa is refrigerated for several hours to achieve a solid consistency, then filled with picadillo, ground beef, etc., and deep-fried in oil.
I’ve visited San Juan many times and I have to say you did an amazing job explaining places to visit, what to eat, etc.!! Just to add here are two of my go spots in Old San Juan: Cafe Don Ruiz - I love the Puerto Rican café con leche and the classic Mayorca ham and cheese sandwich. Princesa Gastrobar restaurant - for great tasting Puerto Rican food and drinks. It’s also very cute and they sometimes have live music.
@@Lowgss we never use tour companies. Nothing against them it's just not our speed. We rented a car for about 34 dollars a day and explored all over the islands. If you want to see Culebra or Vieques or the Rainforest I recommend renting a car. Beware of the topes slow down when you see that sign. Feel free to check out our videos to get some idea's. Safe travels and Congratulations!
So glad you’re making this videos. I watched many of your videos of things to do NYC and they helped me a lot during my last visit, even though I’ve been there many times. I’m sure this video will do the same for many newyorkers who want to visit my island. Thank you!
Glad you loved my lovely island, next time. Tembleque. Its a coconut based dessert that its just simply delicious amazing gorgeous. And a walk on paseo la princesa there in old San Juan its also nice. Love your videos
Just came back from Puerto Rico! The cost for both castles is $10 now. Also maybe you could mention that you could eat at a restaurant where the pina colada was invented, it was $7 for a drink and super good!
As a recident I would recommend to go to La Fortaleza and just walk around the front of it where there is i huge puertorican flag also for the family’s defenedly should go fly a kite in the morro it’s super fun Those are some recommendations that I dint see and just wanted to say
Glad you liked my town, thank you for the video showing your love to Old San Juan made me happy and proud, and congratulations in your wedding!! Bless you guys
So glad I watched this. My daughters and I tried all the food that you recommended and I must say so myself, those fish tacos are AMAZING! Thanks for sharing this awesome video so that my girls and I could taste the great foods of Puerto Rico!
You have to go to Raises Restaurant. Is very authentic, food is incredible and the ambience, docor and theme take you in the to past. Also just a block away you can find Torrefacion y Cafe. This is a coffee Shop. They sell authentic puertorrican coffee, for sure the best coffee I've ever had by far. These 2 places are a must next time you visit San Juan.
Please pray for healing me financially, having mercy and love for me forever. I pray my husband is faithful to me Saint Anne❤️I pray he provides for me. And blesses me in the business. I pray we can work together and bring my income up. I need money to pay rent and fix my vehicle in the name of jesus 🙏🏻🥰❤️😇🌹I pray my father financially support me🙏🏻💳💰💵
Great tips for a weekend getaway. Next time you should try the mallorca pressed like a panini. I love mine just with cheese but you can order it with ham and cheese.
You finally made it to my Island. Great job as usual , the grave you panned twice is actually the resting place of Jose Ferrer the academy award winner in 1950 . His son actor Miguel Ferrer who died recently is also entombed there. Directly across from the lancha terminal in Catano is my favorite local Restaurant Don Tello you should check out next time. I'm NY born but my Moms family grew up in Catano. I still own the family home in a town called Levittown ( yes the same ones that built the homes many homes in Levittown Long Island }.
I’m going to Puerto Rico in February 2020 and I can’t wait my home town, I wasn’t born there but I’ll my aunt and cousin and grandmas and uncles life there. The Despacito bar?! Im there! Love the reggaeton background music, brings a good rhythm to the vid. All that rum musta given u a headache in the morning at some point 😂
Great recommendations. I have done a couple of them but because I have never been in San Juan for very long it has been limited. I do want to spend more time there and I will try some of these things they sound great.
I went in December 2019 on a Harmony of the seas cruise. We went on an excursion with Carlos Tours. It was amazing! It was private; only the 7 of us. We saw so many places in 5 hours! Highly recommend him!!
you missed paseo de la princesa. it's a like a boardwalk that goes behind La fortaleza. also la catedral. one of the most antique church in the old san juan.

Fantastic video of things to do in Old San Juan! Thank you for helping me add to my list! My family loves it there and will be there again in July. One thing we love to do is stroll around the city and its amazing wall at night. It is well lit up, safe, and full of life. Also, if you have a US National Parks’ Senior Pass, it will get you and 3 guests into the forts for free.
Excelent video, thanks for the positive comments ane great info about the area. Tomorrow I am heading to Old San Juan. You got yourself a new subscriber.
You need to eat the famous delicious pastry (Tornillitos de Crema) in Puerto Rico are too Yummy you going to love it and you going say this, I never eat nothing so delicious like that in my life before and they make Tornillitos no only with a delicious Cream but With fruits too and also make others delicious things like pastelillitos de Guallaba and postres like coconut Tenbleque and Arroz con dulce and also Coquito con Puerto Rican Rum so delicious lol. 🌴🌞🇵🇷 🇺🇸

Limbers, see it at 10:32 in Old San Juan is owned by a family of mine from my mother side. They have been there for more than 40 years.
Every time we are in OSJ we walk to the city door and then buy Limbers from them.

This video of yours helped a lot. Thanks for making and sharing it!
