Not repetitive at all - yes, please DO the top 10 foundations of all-time! LOVE your Foundation Fest videos so the all-time one will just be fantastic!! So glad your #1 choice was the same one I chose, as well!!!
I'm hoping it will be a long while before I'd even consider it! I'm not a huge fan of needles (well, puncturing needles, anyway... tattoos are different!) 😂
Shelly, it blows me away when you say you are 46. You could easily pass for 30. Your skin is perfection. I know you've tried The Ordinary's Foundation, but there are two formulas. I'm loving the High Coverage version, and honestly, if I use a sponge, it sheers out beautifully. The other that I like is The NYX Born to Glow! Thanks for sharing your favorite drugstore foundations. ❤❤
I would love to see favorite drugstore foundations from whenever if they are still available. I think it's so fun how excited you get about foundations!!
My favorite fall and winter foundation is L'oreal's Age Perfect and my favorite Sunmer and Spring foundation is Estee Lauder's Futurist. I have dry skin and I am 34 years old. L'oreal Age Perfect Foundation is my holy grail for sure because it's so amazing and at such a low cost.
Yes Please! More and more foundation and skin care reviews! You are the most thorough and informative beauty UA-camr there is! I love your videos. Thank you so much for doing this!
Hi Shelley it's unfortunate that the top two have such a poor shade range, but I did get the number 3 pick (Revolution cc cream in shade 0.5). I like it and it's a great shade match, but it isn't overly mask friendly as it rubs off. Instead I've gone back to an old favourite - the original bare minerals. Washes off the mask easily, wears well under the mask and can cope with the humidity under there. It's been my favourite of the last few months, as it isn't irritating on my masked skin either. I was getting a lot of irritation from wearing foundations etc under the mask which this has eased. I know it isn't really affordable to buy, but it lasts forever as you need so little each time. I think a review based video on the best of all time (that are still available) would be good, as these videos give so many great recommendations in one place. Best wishes.
I cannot thank you enough for recommending the Purito Cica Clearing BB Cream. I am 66 with extremely dry skin. For about 10 years I have been searching for a foundation that doesn’t settle into lines and emphasise texture and particularly dryness. I have tried well over 60 foundations with no success..... until this BB cream. I set it with the By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra Powder and it lasts all day even though it is moisturising. It is absolute magic! I’m lucky as the lightest colour works for me. I cannot thank you enough for your excellent foundation reviews and for your high recommendation of this foundation. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!
I LOVE when you growl with the cica! I always giggle! Thanks for doing what you do and hope you're having a good weekend! Yes, please do the one where you talk through the top ones. Take care and big hugs, Kara
I just ordered the L'Oreal Age Perfect yesterday. I'm hoping I love it just as much as you. I'm so glad I found your channel. I'm 42 with dry skin too, so anything you love should work for me too. Loving your videos, especially the foundation fest marathon. I would love a best foundations of all time video in this style.
You can try my tweak with #s 1 and 2. Mix them. I have the same shades that you do with the same issue, so I tweak the color of the L’Oreal with the Purito and it works. And they play well together. Give it a whirl.
I’m afraid our skin is completely different, the L’Oréal Age Perfect liquid foundation didn’t work for me. But I still have oily skin at age 61. I do love the L’Oréal Age Perfect Powder foundation. It’s awesome on my skin.
I couldn’t agree more about the L’Oréal foundation. It’s the one I reach for most of the time! I will definitely try the Purito next. Stay safe and well and enjoy the season! Kiss the kitties for me! 🐈🐾🐾🎄
WOW Shelly, Just checked out that fabulous foundation chart. Beautiful work. I’m 62, for 2 more hours, have dry, sensitive skin with rosacea. Am loving your channel so much. Your colouring is very similar to mine, without the red. Love all your foundation reviews. A very loyal subscriber. 💗🌹
Great review of these. Thank you Edit: I just want to say I also love how you tell us the color you use because my skin color is like yours. You're GORGEOUS.
Physicians Formula Natural Defense foundation is the best! It is the first foundation I have ever tried that works for me, totally on its own! I have dry, more mature skin. 😊
I was nervous about buying the Purito Cica cream because in other KBeauty base products, shade 21 is too dark but 13 is great. I took a chance on this in 21 and it actually matches really well. For reference, my skintone is abt 1-2 shades lighter than Shelly's and MAC NW10, Estee Lauder DW in 1C0 Shell and YSL All Hours in BR10 are my best shade matches. I don't have a summer shade in any foundation because when you're vampire pale, your undead skin doesn't tan.
Same here. I am several shades lighter than Shelly but somehow the Purito still matches me once blended in. Right out of the tube it looks way too dark.
I was debating when I applied it for this video if it has some sort of color shifting features to it, because straight out of the tube it never looks like it'll match me but within a few moments, bam. It's lovely.
Agreed. When I first opened it, I almost didn't try it because it's gray; not a slight gray undertone like the CYO 101 that I love, but straight up gray like stone. I'm glad I did though because I love the coverage and it's very long wearing but the strong sunscreen scent takes a while to dissipate.
Their shades from one foundation to the other aren't exact but they're pretty close (for example, I'm usually F3 or C3 in their foundations/concealers) so if you happen to be able to find another one in their line that you know matches you, starting there should get you close.
I really dig the L'Oreal Age Perfect foundation too! It's so smooth and silky on the skin. I agree with you on the line, the blush is gorgeous! Great eye look tonight Shelly! :)
Is Estee Lauder Futurist the foundation you referred to with respect to the Revolution Pro? I'm saving the Video (again) for referral😁 Love to see all time favorites! Pretty please? Take care. Have a safe and happy holiday season❤
Hey Shelly! Recently I've seen tons of ads of the new Elizabeth Arden Flawless finish Skincaring Foundation but can't seem to find any dry skin reviewers. Could u Pls do a review on it? Fmr photos I've seen it seems to be similar to the Estee Lauder Hydra rescue. I Just got the Hydra rescue aftr watching ur review of it and now I'm.wondering if the Elizabeth Arden is better 😅
I’m so sad the purito snail cc is gone it has treated my skin so well but I will definitely try the new formula and 100% agree on the #1 it’s been great (except during the summer for me) Happy holidays Shelly and heres to onwards and upwards in 2021!
Hello, foundation twin! Great picks. I thought I’d mention that the Purito BB Cream is an excellent mixer and foundation primer, especially if you need a bit more coverage. It’s a multitasker and I found it because of you! Thanks for that. ❤️
Thank you for the thorough reviews and hard work as usual!! FYI Physician’s formula is not considered cruelty-free (on the same level as wet’n’wild) if taking post-market testing into account
Last week I typed in Purito bb cream swatches and your picture is there....didn’t know if you saw it....I had wanted to try the Purito and the L’Oréal, shades won’t work....will order the Makeup Revolution Pro Perfecting CC Foundation , shade range is much better....love the review!
Nice post! I would like to see your top 10 foundations. I do get a little lost in them sometimes. ;) Weird, I have the old version of the Purito. Every time I wear it, I get a few zits? Weird. I kept testing as I like it & I thought it might be something else. ;( One of the zits is always a unicorn zit rt where a horn should grow. Hehe
I remember seeing your video years ago reviewing the loreal foundation or the Rimmel one and I'm so glad I found you again! We have the same skin tone and skin type. So your reviews are everything to me!! Great video ❤ always very informative. Just subscribed 😘
Hi! What is your opinion on natural/organic foundations that do not have silicones like the Ilia, kosas, nui, inika brands etc? I would love to see more reviews of such products! I remember you reviewed the physician's formula skin elixir foundation, which falls under this category, and would love to see more! I recently started exploring foundations containing mostly natural ingredients, and tried a sample of the Madara skin equal foundation, which was one of the closest ones to a regular foundation. The feeling on the skin is different than silicone-based foundations, one has to use very little, and it looked really nice and luminous. In my experience with natural silicone-free foundations a non-weightless feel is pretty common (I think mainly silicones contribute to having a weightless feel on the skin). I live in Europe and Madara is an organic Lithuanian skincare brand, but I think you can find it in the US.
I've had great luck with Ilia and Kosas! Both are in my favorites (though this video I stuck with new products in 2020 - the serum release from Ilia just barely missed the list).
Great video, Shelly. I have and love the Cica CC cream bought on your recommendation in #23. Must say I don't use primers ever, I'm 47 with most of the same concerns as you. Your eye look is gorgeous BTW. ❤
Hello Shelly! Been waiting for this one! I need a new favorite. The L’Oréal Infallible 24 hr fresh wear I have used for 2 years suddenly does me no favors. I’m sad, I really loved it for so long! Let’s see what you’ve got!!!
Any chance for a list of the top makeup/skincare/beauty things you learned this year? You've shown us several, like the Wayne Goss eye trick and the incorporating more essences in skincare, so I'm wondering which of them have made the biggest impact for you.
I wonder if the Age Perfect Serum foundation has another name in Europe? I can find an Age Perfect Bb cream (in a tube) and an Age Perfect Radiant foundation (in a glassbottle with a pump) but not this Serum foundation ...🤔 Thx for a great video 😀
I can't seem to find an ingredient list for the European version - I'm thinking that would be the easiest way to compare is to compare the ingredients.
These are fantastic videos! Keep them coming! Absolutely love how detailed you go with your rating system and how you have the spread sheet. I will definitely be checking that out. Will you have a spreadsheet for other types of products as well. Either way I can't wait to see what your lists of other types of products are going to be!!
Hi I'm 48 and I'm having a hard time finding an eye shadow pallet that has a good formula that won't cling to dry patches in eye lids could you suggest or do a video on eye shadow for mature eyes😊
Hi Veronica! I find that most shadows go patchy on me without eye primer, and for my lids I need something with enough substance to kind of smooth out any crepey spots or dry patches. I use either the Elf putty eye primer or the MAC Paint Pot. As long as I have primer on, I can wear just about any shadows.
@@goow thank you so much for your suggestion I will definitely try one of the two I'm from MI so really struggling to keep hydrated skin lol never tried eye shadow primers so exited to give something new a try!Thank you !
Yes I would like your all time faves and a talk through. I was just wondering what your current everyday foundations are when you’re not filming? Is it the L’Oréal age perfect and purito?
It doesn't smell like anything to me, but I preface that by saying I do not have a very sensitive nose so I'm a pretty bad judge of strength of scents.
It's right up there in the mix! I don't assign any value in the grading to whether it's drugstore or high end or to the price, so for example a 95 is a 95 regardless of the price of the product.
It does transfer a little bit. The best so far for me in terms of not transferring onto my masks is MAC Face & Body (which is only $2 more per ounce than the Age Perfect, so it might as well be drugstore pricing!)
Hi Janet! I'm not explicitly sensitive to alcohols, so right off the bat anyone that is should avoid it. But for me, the drying alcohols aren't necessarily an avoid-at-all-costs ingredient. If the product is formulated in such a way that there's only enough of the alcohol to serve its intended purpose (often dry-down, in the case of foundations, but it can also be helpful in skin care products to help other actives penetrate the skin - so there are reasons for it to be there), and it's not just being used as a cheap filler, and there are enough hydrating ingredients to counter-act any drying, then I'll continue to use it. Of course, the only way to really know that is to try it, since we'll all have a different tolerance for drying ingredients. But there are some foundations with drying alcohols that don't dry me out at all, and I attribute that to proper formulations.
I love the idea of the all time picks in a talk through style like this.
Not repetitive at all - yes, please DO the top 10 foundations of all-time! LOVE your Foundation Fest videos so the all-time one will just be fantastic!! So glad your #1 choice was the same one I chose, as well!!!

Omg YESSSS That L'oreal Age Perfect Serum foundation is one of my absolute favorites. It doesn't leave my face greasy after wearing it all day

Great reviews. I love your hair!!
Thanks, Terry!
Yes I would like your all time faves and a talk through. I was just wondering what your current everyday foundations are when you’re not filming? Is it the L’Oréal age perfect and purito?
Yep those or MAC Face & Body if I know I'll be wearing a mask for a bit (though I don't leave the house often... lol).
Yaaayyyyy sooo exciting!
Does age perfect have a scent to it?
It doesn't smell like anything to me, but I preface that by saying I do not have a very sensitive nose so I'm a pretty bad judge of strength of scents.
Yeessss, I'm so excited for this!
Love these videos,thanks friend
Thank you 🙏 this is so helpful!
I would like to know how the Age Perfect holds up next to your high end top five.
It's right up there in the mix! I don't assign any value in the grading to whether it's drugstore or high end or to the price, so for example a 95 is a 95 regardless of the price of the product.
Thank you!
How does the Age Perfect foundation do as far as transfer? I am looking for something that won’t transfer badly to a mask...
It does transfer a little bit. The best so far for me in terms of not transferring onto my masks is MAC Face & Body (which is only $2 more per ounce than the Age Perfect, so it might as well be drugstore pricing!)
Shelly, I have avoided the L’Oreal and Nyx because of the denatured alcohol. Can you give me your thoughts on that ?
@@goow thanks for the thorough reply Shelly! I may reconsider and give them a shot. Happy New Year 🎆.
A good year! (for foundations)
Gotta find good somewhere, and if the good has to be foundations, I'm not mad at it! 😂
