- In 10 seconds or less, my review of Kendrick Lamar's meet the grahams. If you haven't heard it, check it out for yourself and let me know if you agree with my appraisal.
Listen to the song: • meet the grahams
To anyone watching, I dropped this review 37 minutes after my review of Family Matters....that's exactly how quickly Kendrick dropped this after Drake
Well played
nice detail
I'm reading this comment 37 minutes after it was posted
Really stretching that 10min mark huh?
Kendrick casually dropped Horrorcore just out of hatred
It's scarier than horrorcore imo. It's the grim reality of real life monsters, bc even if it's not Drake committing those atrocities you know somebody is. Hence why songs like Mother I Sober are so difficult to stomach.
horrorcore is more explicity about violent murder and serial killer tyoe shit. This is scary as hell and has horror vibes but is not horrorcore.
This isn’t even a diss track. It's the musical equivalent of the severed ear included with a ransom note.
not just the ear, the whole head at this point 😭😭😭
@@emomu and not even a ransom note included. Just straight up vigilante work
The alchemist was a perfect choice for this song too
Fr
Uncle Al is always the perfect choice
This was him? Nice.
yh
Alch was like “nah I’m set with the Griselda money” and burned every bridge he could ever have to Drake
It made me stay up till 4 o'clock in the morning. Sheer hatred in musical form.
lol same here
Same. This song ruined my sleep schedule
Diss lvl 1: You don't have a mom
Diss lvl Kendrick: Dear Mother, let me convince you why your son should die
Kendrick was an absolute psycho for that move
The way he said his mom and everyone who listen to sit down and clearing his throat…I think that’s why eve talk about secret daughter because previous talking point is just too grim 🤣
One of the scariest songs I’ve ever heard
I was just telling someone that no matter how rich, narcissitic and famous i may be, if someone made a song like Meet the Grahams for me....i would simply quit everything and wait for my death hiding in some corner of the world.
Shake it off
How tf do you shake that off, if you got Meet the Grahamsed you would A) lose the respect of all humanity, B) have had to have done something so severe it would be earned
@umjammerlammy9993 it was a joke
@umjammerlammy9993 if Taylor Swift can do it.
i read a comment somewhere that says :"listening to Meet the Graham felt like Kendrick was writing that shit with a quill in one hand and a gun on the other".
@arlonaparstek6536 it's almost like... People have 2 hands.
In a dark room lit only by candle light, yes.
truly the greatest diss of all time
yes
Nah Hit Em Up still clears but its close
Yeah probably facts. Ain’t nobody been destroyed so hard
@@royalwarlord2342 Meet the Grahams > The Story of Adidon > probably either Hit 'Em Up or Ether
@@default3252 if you’re 13 years old then yeah probably
uncle al dug in hell’s vinyl bins fr
Already one of the most brutal song ever made, add the context and the timing and it’s the hardest diss ever made
Do you know what this beef has taught me? I've never hated anyone in my life 🤣 I thought I did, but nope, not even close. From now on my metric for real hatred is how much Kendrick hates Drake
For real. Like if I truly loathe someone, my mindset would be WWKDTD: What Would Kendrick Do To Drake?
it's like when people are asked at the hospital about how much something hurts on a scale from 1 to 10. Most of us don't even get to ten but we still think we do until proven otherwise
The LARP for the series is unreal, really helps sells it to anyone who wasnt around
Yeah that’s how I felt too
Everyone was begging Kendrick to drop, then they quickly begged him to stop
This song sounds like something you weren't supposed to hear. The fact it came immediately after Drake dropped a solid ass response is just genius level tactics by Kenny.
Dark and yet brutal. It is great though
Crazy to think that the alchemist was part of this civil war
he is goated
Makes me think back to the track Nostalgia with Pusha T. Kendrick starts his verse saying "You wanna see a dead body..."
Forget different this man a whole Demon.
YOD said it best, this makes Hit Em Up sound like Good Vibrations 😭😭😭😭
It really took all the air and buzz away from Family Matters because of the almost simultaneous drop.
Crazy play by Kendrick+ releasing Not Like Us soon after was amazing
I have no idea what type of old 19th century piano The Alchemist got his hands on when he made the beat for meet the grahams...
Most disrespectful diss track of all time imo
Of all people, Pat, formerly of Two Best Friends and currnetly of Castle Super Beast said it best:
"Oh my god I would fucking kill myself if this diss track was about me jesus christ"
Probably the most relatable review of the song yet
a real nuke of a record.
Bro was speechless for the first time he needs another ten seconds lmao 😂
can't wait for the Not Like Us review
His pride and pettiness was his downfall 💀
Kendrick wants to haunt Drake's dreams for the rest of his life. Jesus this was savage.🤯
You know he's hearing those "LIED" background vocals during REM stage too.
@@BeastNationXIV EXACTLY. Like just five ghost Kendricks yelling "LIED"
I've never even liked Drake but I still felt threatened by it
preach
could not have said it better myself
This song started with “dear son, sorry about your father” and it gets worse from there. Kendrick talks to daughter feels lighter than talking about all the Drake’s crimes to the parents, in a way.
Completely expected a reaction like that
I caught a bar from that song that no reactor seemed to catch. Kenny says, "37 years old, but showing up as a 7 year old"
In the song "FEAR" (also produced by The Alchemist), Kendrick runs down his fears from the perspective of age 7, 17, and 27. This song might as well be "FEAR" (Pt. 2). And one of the scarier bars was this: "He a narcissist, misogynist, livin' inside his songs. Try destroyin' families rather than takin' care of his own." Basically describing Drake as a villain who is released through his music and basically uses his cult of personality to numb the soul and ruin crucial relationships.
The whole thing was basically Kendrick saying Drake is in the sunken place (after Drake said he was rapping like he's trying to get the slaves free). And you know that after Drake heard this song, he was left looking just like Daniel Kaluuya in the hypnosis scene. One of the scariest beats I've heard Kendrick use, one of the most chilling reads of an opponent that will go straight to your bone marrow.
That was how I felt after my first listen. After listening to it a few more times, it's become one of my favs in the beef. Allegations aside, the beat, scathing lyrics, and Kendrick's performance came together phenomenally.
This song was like watching a horror movie
Toughest listen to any song I've ever heard. But it keeps you on the edge of your seat because you have to know whay he's going to say next. This wasn't an act of destruction. He sounds like he's trying to salvage what little is there left.
its fye you dropping these in order of like actual time
Accurate
It really was something out of a Jordan Peele movie 😭
accurate reaction
finallyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy i was lookin your channel hour after hour to see if this came oout
Diss so brutal that it even leaves me feeling with dread, genuinely one of the most evil kinda diss tracks I’ve ever heard, just straight up demonic. Kendrick out here telling me I must be a pacifist considering his hatred towards Drake
Perfect!
kendricka nd alchemist should not be making music together...that shit be traumatic...remember we cried together
Absolutely hectic nose mate
ya....thats pretty much how i felt too lol
Ah, ok. So now ill see you tomorrow for not like us
TRUE
Eminem is definitely gonna collaborate with Kendrick eventually thanks to this track.
Funny part is, people always make jokes about never getting a Kendrick and Cole collab....but I think we finally got that. Because Cole tagged with Drake like that, then left him hanging when it was time for them both to face Kendrick. And walked way smiling because he knew what was coming. No way he didn't set him up for that slaughter.
And if there ever was a time for Eminem/Kendrick to collab, it would be for an epic diss on those colonizers Ben Shapiro/Tom WacDonald who dissed black folks and black music (while Drake and his fans said nothing).
Yeah pretty much.
dropping the reviews in the same timeframe as the songs is a nice touch
This is genuinely one of the most shocking pieces of music ever released by a major artist. If we are talking Beatles onward, it's probably the single most shocking and dark.
Review took longer than for Kendrick to release the song
had me like 😟🫣😧 the whole time first listen
fair enough
i understand.
can you please actually make a full review, i actually wanna hear it
The only song I can think of that comes anywhere close is Kim by Eminem.
💯%
It makes me wanna apologize for drake, I am not even American, I'm Indonesian, the disrespect stab to the third part of the world 😢
Sinister
ok Dr House, can we cure this patient?
I'm fully convinced this song was the main reason for the shootout by drake's mansion
Nah it was definitely Not Like Us with Drake’s address on the cover 😂
Help I double tap and the video ended
The video ends at 0:10
Kendrick yapping to an imaginary daughter is a big L tho. 😂
It’s only been 4 days, and Drake already lied once when he tried to conceal Adonis out of wedlock.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Drake lied twice
YES OMIGAH SOMEONE PUT IT INTO WORDS
