This is an interesting question! I'm gonna pin your comment. I would like to know people's thoughts on the most powerful Master Sword in Zelda games. Personally, I believe that the Golden Sword is more powerful than the ToTK version since most enemies can be defeated in a single hit. However, in my opinion, the most powerful Master Sword in the Zelda series is the one in Skyward Sword. It holds significance as the first game in the Zelda timeline and houses the spirit of the Goddess Sword, Fi, within it. The only drawback is that the Sword Beam takes some time to charge.
I'd say lore-wise, it's probably TotK's since it spent tens of thousands of years soaking up divine power. In practice, though, it _really_ doesn't feel much different from the sword's default. Purely gameplay-wise, though, it's hard for me to say 'cause I haven't really experienced many of them.
@@zekeram129 Its stats are actually the exact same as in BOTW, with 40 durability and 30 attack. This can be augmented with fusion, though, so its peak strength is a lot higher. Ironically, its powered up form is actually weaker this time around to compensate for greater frequency of enemies it's strong against, only doing 60 to the final boss.
@@sheridan5175 It also does 60 Damage any time you're in battle against Phantom Ganon, and has infinite durability against Phantom Ganon and the Final Boss. It's pretty hilarious going to a place where Phantom Ganon spawns in while the Master Sword only has 1 durability left, so every hit becomes a double damage Critical Hit. The sword auto-repairs for the final battle though, so you can't do that there. It doesn't power up at all against the Gloom Hands though, for some reason. Not even halfway boosted like against Gloom covered enemies. Probably a developer oversight that hasn't been fixed, just like how the Master Sword only gets the durability boost from fusing the very first time you fuse a material on it and never again for the entire game. I'd imagine both of those would be noticed and addressed if they do another Trial of the Sword type of DLC, since they'd have to tweak the Master Sword's properties in that case anyway.

It's fucking _hilarious_ if you don't know the light dragon's name though. All I saw was wresting a giant fucking dragon and "GODDAMNIT THE _ONE TIME_ I PREPARE HEARTS IN ADVANCE IT ASKS FOR _STAMINA"_ and then a weird cutscene of Zelda floating in what I'm pretty sure I assumed was either an imprint of her left on the sword or her left in time-limbo or something. Well, up until later, when I peeked at the Forgotten Foundation ahead of time. And I started trying to deny that maybe, the Light Dragon wasn't just "the Hylia-themed dragon"...
Age of Calamity is my favorite. The fact that Link gets his butt wooped right before pulling the master sword and his first reaction is turning around and threatening the villain. So cool.
Almost all the games are like: Wow!, you got the Master sword now you can defeat the evil things and save Hyrule! *Sounds epic music*. The oracle games: You got the Master sword and nothing will happen, congratulations.

Totk’s master sword pull felt too over the top and the sad backstory is cool, but in practice, you can just get it by accident in the most stupid way and also just get it at the end of the game even if you didn’t get every single memory. It’s flawed and I prefer the Oot pull for how you realize you doomed the world by pulling it and the TP pull because of how perfect it is with the build up and the de transformation of wolf link.
I love how the Zelda series made the Master Sword look like the ultimate weapon in each game when others such as the Biggoron's Sword and Light Arrows outclass it. Not the strongest, but definitely the most important.
I personally like how the Master Sword music theme is the BOTW version but it also incoropates Zelda's Lullaby into the melody to symbolize the connection between Zelda and the Master Sword
Hard to say my fave one, either OoT or Skyward sword for me. OoT is nostalgic and the idea of being warped 7 years in time to become and adult was so mind boggling for me as a kid. And Skyward sword, it felt so cool being the origin story of forging the master sword that every link iteration in the future would use.
I love both the Hyrule Warriors draws, because they are popping the cork on a whole bottle of ass-whoopin'. They really sell that there are swords and there is The Master Sword.

Good, so we can assume that in universe every time the Master Sword decides to say "mr stark, i don't feel so good" Link has to travel through the mist with Zelda once again just to collect his blade that every woman already says he owns down there.
For all the time the player has to spend level-grinding in BotW and TotK in order to get the Master Sword, in those games, the fanfare has to be the most uplifting thing to hear in those games. I frankly wish that it replayed at the end of the final Trial of the Sword because those trials were diabolical. I frankly felt cheated out of what could have been my greatest moment in my video gaming history.

TotK is the best, SPOILERS: The sword that seals the darkness is destroyed by Ganon. Zelda earns her title as legend and gives up everything to bring it back to Link, bathing the master sword in sacred sunlight for ten thousand years. At first she resists, trying to protect it, but then realizes it must be Link whom has finally come for it. And she lets it go. The back story, the sacrifice, the music, the zoom out on dragon back above golden clouds... It's magnificent.
I've been very conflicted about this, but... between Age of Calamity and Tears of the Kingdom, which one has the crazier scene? Age of Calamity is still established as the only Master Sword scene to take place mid-combat. The Master Sword itself literally rescues Link and Zelda from death, Link doesn't spare any second after pulling the sword, and the music that plays alongside it is legendary. Tears of the Kingdom is the only Master Sword scene to take place somewhere away from its resting place, and the only one to take place up in the sky (Skyward Sword had its scene on the Surface). For the first time, Link is actively struggling to take the Sword, where in previous iterations (especially Twilight Princess) it was a mere test of strength. Link hears Zelda's final words before transforming into the Light Dragon, and he sets off to take out Ganondorf once and for all.
The crazier is TOTK, the most touching, is TOTK, the most cinematographic is TOTK...but, in Age of Calamity, the Master Sword is a true game changer, Link's savior in a moment of darkness and it can bring a sort of kinship towards the sword which is lacking in TOTK.
Honestly,I'd say my favorite is either TP, LBW, or Breath of the Wild, maybe TotK just from how hilariously over-the-top it is. Wind Waker's is great too, with all of its fanfare. This is normal, in most Zelda games you can find the Master Sword, although there are exceptions like Spirit Tracks, Majora's Mask, Phantom Hourglass, etc.

While the in-game dialogue refers to it as the 'legendary Master Sword,' I think the same as you. The MS in Oracle games could be seen more as a special easter egg or a reward for completing one of the two games that the real MS.

You get the Master sword 4.)Oracle of Ages Postgame- You tell the King of Zora(present) the secret and he will polished your Noble sword. The great Deku Tree DID say its potential strength is essentially limitless. There’s no limit to how much divine power it can absorb.

Link didn’t struggle for ALTTP. Also, TP link had to fight the light coming out of the master sword as a wolf to show his determination.

Overall "the master sword" in the Oracle games is just a stronger sword, nothing special. It isnt required in beating Ganon or give an advantage
