    I've had my note 9 for 4 years and it still works flawlessly. The battery is still good and I'm a heavy user. I'm recovering from having 3 major surgeries over the past 18 months and I'm bedbound so I'm always on my phone. I love my phone.

      5 years of heavy use and my battery is still going strong. I slow charge it at about 250 milliamps by using a cheap charger with three usb plugs and making the phone share the available charging amps with something else.

    This phones have tons of things that I use that none of the newer ones have. Like 3D home button, SD slot, Iris scanner, headphone jack for sure, led indicater which helps me to know whats going on, simply these are huge deal for me. This phone could have been much better if it had more strong software. Gcam helped me get some amazing pictures that tells how capable this is. And I yet enjoy using it and would really miss these features which made it the best

    I had this phone as a work phone. I fell in love with it. I ended up purchasing the 512g, in copper. The battery isn't as strong as it use to be but, recently purchased a punkcase with a 5000ma battery. So now when the battery runs low, I switch on the punkcase, and I'm back in action.
    One thing, I really love, is the s pen, which I use a lot. Also, the headphone jack is a plus, which I also use. The new ones don't have the jack.

    I am rocking this phone since end of 2018 and now my battery became pretty weak like 65-70 percent capacity left. So I watched out for a new one but every new phone seemed like a downgrade in some instances for me. Unless you are ready to spend 1000 euro plus what i definitely don't want. Things I don't want to give up are 1440p display, headphone jack, and expandable storage. No chance you find a new phone with all of that. So I decided to order a new battery and fingers crossed I don't break anything. Only problem with the Note now is the outdated softwares so I will eventually try a custom rom.

And recently Samsung offered 400 for S24 Trade in. Still use the N9 for work. It gets a pretty easy life. It is so far beyond any personal gadget I have ever owned. It takes my breath away. The Note9 is the last and greatest of the era before Samsung decided to follow Apple's ridiculous "edge to edge" nonsense and RUIN the display with an obtrusive camera hole. How anyone could think that was a good idea is beyond me. The Note9 is the perfect design with just enough bezel to fit in a camera at the top AND still have true edge to edge design on the sides.

    What's up with the outdated software rant? That's the reason why note 9 is not worth buying anymore? As long as its able to connect on the internet, chat, call, text it's a phone worth buying, I have a Note 8 and it still works nicely, the battery drains fast for sure but aside from that my 6 year old phone works perfectly until now, and my next phone would be note 9, why because of its the traditional features like phone jack and its got a bunch of extra accessories inside the box unlike the newer phone nowadays.

    • @redslate
      @redslate Рік тому

      It's not explained all that well, but software updates include security patches to prevent malicious code from exploiting your device. When you think about just how much personal data is accessed via you mobile device, this is a huge concern.
      It'd be the equivalent of running an older OS on your PC. You might be fine for a few years, but, at some point, you'll make yourself a target. DO NOT connect a WinXP (or older) device to the internet. You will be exploited in minutes (not even exaggerating).
      Plus, your mobile phone is with you everywhere you go, so, if you're compromised, not only is your data at risk, but your *exact* *physical* *location* is known.

    Slightly cracked screen from the lower half of the left side. The back has many dents but nothing to worry about tbh. There is no power button anymore, but I can find a replacement easily. With a cover on, I'll be good to go for another year I believe.
    New phones aren't really exciting tbh. Flip and fold don't interest me. I would consider buying z fold 6 next year if it's cameras and battery life are at least similar to s24 ultra and if it has a built in s-pen slot.

      @Shredderof_POWDA Рік тому +1

      Really? Storage is the only thing you mentioned on the new 2023 phones. Have you looked at the specs of the new phones? They perform better in just about every category. Larger battery, more ram, 120hz refresh rate, better cameras, state of the art chipset, 5g capability, new technology, etc...and the note 9 doesn't receive software updates anymore. (I own a note 9 btw). In terms of future security and performance....note 9 doesn't compare to today's phones. Storage should never be a buying point of a phone, imo. We live in the cloud these days.

    • @redslate
      @redslate Рік тому +1

      Samsung's camera tech has improved *substantially* since Note 9, and more sensors have been added, allowing for some pretty amazing photos/videos even at a distance. Not saying that alone justifies an extra expenditure for you, but others will definitely find value/utility in this.
      Also, the newer 'Notes' (S21, S22, S23 Ultras) no longer feature MicroSD slots, so I'd argue storage has been downgraded on newer Samsungs. (It's now a paid feature/limitation ala Apple.)
      I agree with you on flatscreens. Curved is such a gimmick.

      pt 2 You can't use Bluetooth much at all on an airplane so the audio port is needed if you travel and want music or audio books. Also 5G is getting banned completely for airports and isn't in some states at all yet. Making that feature useless. Outside of software that has barely improved, 5G thats not fully implemented and hazardous, and software updates that are not even needed. Oh and extra camera lenses...There is no phone from Apple or Samsung that's more than MARGINALLY better.
