Without tariff, American companies can not produce competitive products in these categories. American people are paying 4x for their medicines, 2x for green energy products, 4x for healthcare, etc. But, these products have no chance to be sold outside US. Without global market, how these protectionism will help American to compete?

Donald Trump said < trade war with China is easy to win> by increasing tariffs on Chinese imports. In 1929 the US started a trade war with European countries with high tariffs to solve US recession but failed. No country in the world can use high tariff to solve economic problems. Period. Soon JB will increase tariff on Chinese imports of toys, tooth brush, Christmas gifts, bicycles, furniture, table lamps, door mats, pencil , eraser , rubber bands, small screws and nails, outboard motors etc . There are over capacity of these products in China and they are too cheap for the US to compete.

CNBC Article today Highlights "Automaker Stellantis expects to quickly grow sales of China-made electric vehicles outside of the country through a new joint venture with Leapmotor, starting later this year.
The announcement comes amid increasing geopolitical tensions surrounding China-made electric vehicles in the U.S., Europe and other regions.
The expansion plans do not currently include distribution in the U.S., Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares said, citing, among other reasons, new American tariffs on China-made EVs." MORE Companies will follow USA has hung itself

The US has to re-build its own industry in competition with Europe, Japan, South-Korea and China. YET, I DOUBT THAT THE US WILL BE ABLE TO BUILD ITS OWN INDUSTRY (SOLAR PANELS/ CHIPS/ EV CARS) AS IT HAS FAILED IN THIS ALREADY 30 YEARS. (FOR INSTANCE WHAT US CAR SELLS IN EUROPE?). SO, ALL THESE BILLIONS OF SUBSIDIES AND TARIFFS WILL BE IN VAIN.

eventhough US is the 2nd biggest market, but the world is so huge. Chinese EVs will continue innovate, grow and doing good in other countries. Only real competition will bring up a better technology. US is doing opposite way, they close the market, scare of competition, which make american EVs cannot compete in the international stage. Everyone know american is behind chinese in the battery and EVs technology. American should adopt the same strategy as chinese did in the combustion engineer vehicles where impose regulation like if chinese EV want to enter american market, it must be joint ventured with american companies. then american can learn from them and one day become the market leader.

US imposing 100% tariff on Chinese EV's, Solar Panels and
Lithium Batteries, commercial drones = total decoupling of the related products.
That's the best decision that US made and the most encouraging
action that China readily accepts. This way, no more US stealing
Chinese technology from the 4 manufacturing sectors for now.
It is also good to know that all Americans will have to pay double the
price if they ever need to have those products. Paying US$14,000 more
for an EV that sells for US$14,000 retail.
