One of the fun little hacks with this place that the kids at the high school nearby would do (as a former kid from the nearby high school) is "the flip" where you literally flip the box twice so that the big scoop of sauce that's in there distributes to everything. This place really is the quintessential "go to your nearest teriyaki place" because being next to an all boys school really fed that place to satisfaction.
This would be my favorite one so far probably. That cabbage looks like a major upgrade over that salad in the other ones. A bite with all 3 looks like it would go crazy
Haha, love the passerby comment about the RadWagon (I have one too). It's a conversation starter and an awesome bike even if Rad has had some service issues.
I went to highschool a few blocks away, and I ate Yoshino’s nearly every day. My protip is to get the “half and half” (half yakisoba, half rice) with teriyaki chicken Their yakisoba is sooo good. Another delicious thing on the menu is the teriyaki pork, quite delicious. “Mr. Yoshino”, the owner, as the kids from my high school would call him is a very kind funny guy. He would always run a special price for the high school kids who relied on him for their lunch. A staple of the neighborhood and community (But if youre in the neighborhood, also check out their next door neighbor, Pho Saigon! amazing pho and bahn mi and lunch offerings)
I was literally on the edge of my seat. My emotions were intensifying, wondering whether or not you were going to review the dumplings. Finally after 7 minutes, you reviewed them and my stress went away
Kenji all of these are gold. Thank you for making this series. I was happy enough when you moved to Seattle but now you are pioneering my favorite take out food. Excited to see the next videos
I’ve always loved your opinions on food ever since serious eats, always detailed and compassionate. I think people were applauding cabbage because people may not like iceberg very much. Unless the teriyaki scene in Seattle is so strong people really love Yoshino’s cabbage
Not sure if you ever come up north, Kenji. But if you are ever in Edmonds, you should try Teriyaki Way! The portion sizes are always generous and great service
Pork teriyaki is the order for us if you have a chance to go by there again! We had a great time at SAL. I’d love to hear more about your journey in terms of identity as an Asian American person if there is a venue or previous podcast/something on that. Thanks for the teriyaki series! We have gone to Rainer teriyaki twice! Passed by it so many times!
Just dog piling here. I hope you'll make a short video at some point trying the spicy chicken. It's unlike spicy teriyaki I've had anywhere else. I'm a huge spice fan but I do not like spicy teriyaki 99% of the time. At the places I've been the spicy teriyaki is done through a sauce that end up tasting grating and overly salty. But at Yoshino, I believe they marinate the chicken itself in a spicy sauce and then they serve with with regular teriyaki sauce on top. It ends up with more of a tasty peppery flavor that compliments the already incredible cabbage salad even more. Love this series. Thanks for everything you contribute to the world, Kenji.
I know this is a teriyaki video but seeing downtown reminded me... I would highly recommend cafe zum zum for their keema. Used to get it for lunch regularly. Dont skip on the mango pickle!
Cabbage is having a moment...or my my algorithm if tuned to it. I think it's because fermentables are currently a hot topic and there are several ways to ferment cabbage.
Hey Kenji, sorry to be that guy but since no one else has mentioned it, your title has a slight hiccup in it. I've been having so much fun watching these, I'm looking forward to the future ones!
I just went to Sunny Teriyaki in Ballard the other day as a suggestion from a buddy. I was pretty happy with the flavor as it had nice char (albeit a tiny bit dry), and the dressing on the salad was some of the best I had since it wasn’t too sweet and more sesame forward. Give it a shot if you’re in the neighborhood.
Yoshino's is my local Teriyaki place. It's a good low carb option because you can get meat and slaw without rice (the sacrilege!), and the slaw is quite filling. The spicy chicken isn't really any better than the regular (I think they use the same marinade but with white pepper in it). They are both squarely mediocre, but even so it's a pretty good lunch, and it's an order of magnitude better than BBs Teriyaki downtown or the Teriyaki you get in a couple of the asian run buffets downtown. So I walk up to Yoshino's quite a lot.
Your bike is equipped like a food delivery dad bike. Front hot or cold food insulation, child seating capsule in the back and the hand warmers. Never seen a bike equipped like yours but its clearly very functional
Can't lie I've watched all 9 of these
Can't lie? - more like. be proud!
If I ever visit Seattle, I too shall do the teriyaki pilgrimage
9 and counting…
Same

Bro really got the Holy Names smh smh. Needs to go back at lunch time and get the O'Dea for the true experience.
I never thought I’d be so invested in watching a grown man eat takeout chicken teriyaki
Yoshino is close to the hospitals, gave me some comfort during some real tough times. Grateful for that chicken
One of the best parts of this place is BB who runs it, he’s so nice and funny. Love seeing this place reviewed!
This would be my favorite one so far probably. That cabbage looks like a major upgrade over that salad in the other ones. A bite with all 3 looks like it would go crazy
little known fact: kenji filmed all these videos in the same day
All 47 episodes
I like the “post-credits” moments you’ve been tacking on at the end of these. 😄
Haha, love the passerby comment about the RadWagon (I have one too). It's a conversation starter and an awesome bike even if Rad has had some service issues.
I had so many lunches from here as an O'Dea student just blocks away. Glad you went here!! And yes, spicy chicken is the move!

This series has given me a serious craving for teriyaki. Unfortunately southeast Michigan has very few options.
so what youre saying is, to do what kenji's doing and reviewing all of them, would be nice and quick for you to do then eh?
Some great quotes from this vid:
"there was a whole room full of people cheering for cabbage"
"it tastes more like Dr. Pepper than regular Dr. Pepper"
I was literally on the edge of my seat. My emotions were intensifying, wondering whether or not you were going to review the dumplings. Finally after 7 minutes, you reviewed them and my stress went away

Genuinely my favourite series on UA-cam
I wonder if the word has gotten out and all the teriyaki places are on high alert to be on their A game for when Kenji walks in.
You’ll find out in the next episode. (Spoiler alert: nope)
Love that you return back for a second serving to ensure a thorough and fair review.
Adam Ragusea's "why I season my to-go container and not my chicken"
When there was applause for the cabbage in lieu of the lettuce, I felt that
i let out an audible “yesssss” when i saw this video this morning 🙂
My go to spot when I was in Highschool for Lunch!!
Living for the teriyaka reviews rn
Dr Pepper Zero is the GOAT zero sugar soda. That was my favorite part of the review.
"Adam Ragusea steak style" lol our sweet southern youtube daddy will never escape his infamous take.
You're meeting up with Pailin?! That's amazing!
Loving all the bike add ons, can we get a walkthrough? The handlebar covers/windblockers is such a cool idea for colder weather.
Ah Yoshino's. Anyone who was a student in one of the schools in downtown Seattle (O'Dea, Seattle U) looks back at this place fondly.
Yesss Dr. Pepper zero might be the best diet soda out there. It’s so spot on. So much flavor and not any weird after tastes to it
I’ve always loved your opinions on food ever since serious eats, always detailed and compassionate.
I think people were applauding cabbage because people may not like iceberg very much. Unless the teriyaki scene in Seattle is so strong people really love Yoshino’s cabbage
People love the cabbage. I’ve heard it before.
I really hope this series ends with Kenji releasing the best teriyaki chicken recipe of all time.
And like a full recipe, with the sweet mayo dressing, gyoza and everything.
"It tastes more like Dr. pepper than Dr. pepper tastes like Dr. Pepper" made me laugh
You're asking Eric Kim to take great risks with sauce and that gorgeous shirt he was wearing. 😸
I really hope this series ends with a recipe for teriyaki chicken! I can't stop thinking about it
Can you please tell us all about your bicycle? That thing is amazing! ❤
The way Kenji described the slaw reminded me of Curtido, the cabbage salad that is served with Papusas in Salvadorian cuisine.
I'm always super happy when I get cabbage over salad❤
I donate blood at the blood bank (Bloodworks Northwest) across the street from Yoshino Teriyaki, I'll have to stop by some time!
Not sure if you ever come up north, Kenji. But if you are ever in Edmonds, you should try Teriyaki Way! The portion sizes are always generous and great service
After watching seven of these videos, how could I not try my hand at chicken teriyaki? A keeper!
YOOO! This was the place I went to when I visited Seattle! The owner was so chill. The food was cheap but good too!
Passed by it so many times!
how would someone make this legendary cabbage? Shred it and add rice vinegar, a little light soy sauce?
I'm also interested in this, love slaw, especially summer slaws or non-creamy slaws
Maybe some sesame oil too
Deb, Eric, and Pailin? Whoa. My channel favs, among others. Flo Lum is in your neck of the woods (PNW). Would love to see her invited.
I can’t believe the hot Thai chicken thing is infectious
With the cabbage salad is my favorite

Love this series. Thanks for everything you contribute to the world, Kenji.
Kenji started out eating chicken on the street and now he's filling auditoriums for his teriyaki reviews!
You would think every Teriyaki joint in Seattle would be working double time to put out their best food just in case Kenji shows up.
We must know how much that bad boy was 😂
His spicy chicken is 🤌
Kenji. That's a lot of pressure for one plate of teriyaki 😂
eating chicken in an auditorium fever dream ahh shi
That slaw looks good. I'm a big cabbage guy. Too bad I don't live in Seattle. I'll try making it myself at least
Chicken Kenjiyaki back at it again
Yoshino is my local! ✊🏾
I know this is a teriyaki video but seeing downtown reminded me... I would highly recommend cafe zum zum for their keema. Used to get it for lunch regularly. Dont skip on the mango pickle!
Try the Dr Pepper/Cream soda zero sugar. It's a treat.
yes how much was that bad boy (the bike)? Is it an eBike?
Ya don't make friends with sa-lad
Ya don't make friends with sa-lad 🎶🎵
Cabbage is having a moment...or my my algorithm if tuned to it. I think it's because fermentables are currently a hot topic and there are several ways to ferment cabbage.
Yes! Kenji took my advice on the Dr. Pepper zero. Glad you enjoyed it!
Hey Kenji, sorry to be that guy but since no one else has mentioned it, your title has a slight hiccup in it. I've been having so much fun watching these, I'm looking forward to the future ones!
Yeah, it says 'Teriyskk'

Wow, I used to watch Erics ASMR channel years back and now to randomly see him on a Kenji video was a bit of a shock. Small world I guess

A bit off topic...what kind of bike is that?
Yoshino!!!
Dr Pepper zero is killer!!
This definitely ups the ante
This is great
i am once again eating teriyaki chicken while watching this
i went and bought some after watching the other day
No one told me I could’ve watched a teriyaki review live!
I don’t live in the US but I still would’ve come to watch it 😂
ready to start my day now that ive seen kenji try another teriyaki and zero soda
I've been looking for a teriyaki place with that kind of cabbage since Tick-tock Teriyaki in Greenwood closed down
Your bike is equipped like a food delivery dad bike. Front hot or cold food insulation, child seating capsule in the back and the hand warmers. Never seen a bike equipped like yours but its clearly very functional
Does Kenji have a soda problem?
Were you riding your own ebike or using one of the bike share options?
My own.
You gotta get the spicy teriyaki here and dip in the sauce it's the only way
edit: you mentioned it in the video haha
All the zero variants of the sodas are amazing, they all taste more or less like the original soda and don't have the weird artificial taste.
Yoshinossssssss
Kenji please STOP this madness. You can’t possibly eat ALL of the teriyaki. Your family misses you. Save yourself before its too late… 😔
in b4 Kenji corrects the title (Yoshino Teriyskk)
i bet 10 bucks he never changes it
@@Zach-h2l now you have to leave those $10 as a tip at the next hole in the wall place you eat at!
cabbage salad with rice vinegar is way better than iceberg lettuce salad
Please find a good spot in the U District!
Nasai would be my choice there.
awesome video
Overall this one looks like a fine out of ten. Completely edible but nothing to write home about.
Kenji - Loving this series. I'm speaking for everyone on UA-cam - Shoot these videos horizontally! Much love
My glasses only shoot in vertical, so that's a negative!
He must be stopped!
