The most amazing thing that i discovered in the last 10 years when i started to seek the truth about existence, is that all the enlightened people from different backgrounds, different religions, different epochs and millennia, at the core, are all talking about the same thing, that's the most astounding fact that i discovered, and yet no one can really teach you anything, it's all up to you.
There is no teaching, that's what I have been thinking these days too!
Yes there is only living in the here and now with totality of your whole existence and let the presence grow.
Very True
Most astonishing but profound. findings which points to truth.
it’s crazy how i’m finding “my people” through this.
This makes sense - if there is a need to make a decision, then there is resistance.
When you are in the now and at peace, then life flows through you and you will do the things that need to be done in the moment. In other words, you are the instrument of the consciousness ❤
Yes, precisely. Thank you.
Steps to Knowledge teaches being present gives you the only real freedom, the freedom to do what you Know you must do.
With our attention here now we connect to our real self, our spirit, we become available to being directed by spirit.
"In stillness all things can be known." - Steps to Knowledge
Kate S , you have summed this up perfectly !
Either indecision or resistance or decision or just flowing. All of that is the whole. It doesn't matter. Just see that and laugh. Nothing can be out of this including the idea of fragmentation or of imperfection or perfection or becoming. So what if you're uncertain. That uncertainty is perfect. Your anxiousness is perfect. Your doing or not doing is perfect. Thinking you're the doer is perfect. Thinking your not being the doer is perfect. Not thinking is perfect, also thousands of unstoppable thoughts raging in you is perfect. Just see it all and laugh. No striving no becoming no I no mine no practices no gurus no people that 'know' no prostrations, hours of meditation, no systems. You can let go of it all and remember to laugh when you find yourself. Then from there start. Look at what you are without all that stuff. In a while you'll see you're only 'life happening' like plants growing or any group of animals, just in a more conciousness way and that none of it is 'you' again keep looking. The more you see what is operating, this will obliterate the individual and then all actions, reactions etc are perfect and do not bother you. That is true freedom. Give up trying to understand any guru, look at yourself only, understand yourself only.
If you are the instrument of the consciousness then what is this you, where does this you end, what is the gap between you and consciousness, what is it's substance made of, how is it measured, where does consciousness begin, how is consciousness measured?
Or alternatively would one instead say you and consciousness are not two? The you described as an instrument is none other that consciousness operating at a different and connected dimension of reality to that as compared to absolute reality whereby only consciousness is and you are none other than that consciousness.
Would one then question whether the former or alternative scenarios be of greater truth?
@@mistamatthias8786 To paraphrase you, “The more you see what is happening then this will obliterate the individual.. then all actions are perfect.” Sorry, but the “obliteration of the individual” is how to become a perfect vessel of numbness, immobility and essentially a, “Stone Buddha.” Hip. Hip hooray on your parasympathetic support for reptilian immobilization, metabolic shutdown state, even though you would naturally assert a deep misunderstanding on my part here. It is NOT the obliteration of the ego or self as popularly conceived, as that conceptualization or non-conceptualization (however, you frame it) is the penultimate egoistic stance!
Decision means a choice between options. Clarity means to know what is a right thing. Then there is no choice, ergo no decision, you just do what you identified as the right thing. If another thing is also right, it doesn't matter, because you did a right thing. That's what matters!
What if you think you’re clear but you’re not ?
The cause of the feeling to decide emerges from your presupposition that a situation has only one right respond and thus, you have to act on it. This is that creates the anxiety on deciding together with the desperate need for making decisions . In other words you can not let go, you want to control everything, through your mind’s conditioning.
@@anywallsocket You should never think about "what you are", you should always be aware of "what is".
To become clear, you need to liberate yourself from your identifications, images, desires, beliefs, etc., and then look at the whole thing. You will know that you found a thruth if it doesn't depend on your identifications, images, desires, beliefs, etc.
@@elmarwagner2683 "you should.." aren't you suggesting an act of will, to overcome will itself, is it actually then possible to achieve it by your very suggestion?
@@pankajarora7672 Good question. There is no right thing. All actions of the body, and mind is based on previous experiences, which is a reference to determine the "right" thing. However, that requires no intervention, and is autonomous. Moreover, if we think I am deciding, where is the I? Who is I? Mind? Body?
Please derive the answer from here on.
For the past 9 or 10 years or so, I have tried, to the extent possible, to live my life making as few decisions as possible. That's because I am smart enough to know that I don't know what lies around the corner. Thus, rather than guess/hope for the bess, I rely on Universal Guidance. This decision...to not decide... hasn't let me down, nor will it. The Universe (a.k.a. God) will not trick you or lead you astray. This, I can promise you.
this reminds me of a time in college when I decided to do absolutely nothing and then aced all my classes and had amazing friends
Amazing. Tell me more
@@noahmaillouxmusic when I realized I was struggling so much because I was trying to do so many things-- I was trying to listen to lectures, I was trying to do homework, I was trying to go to extracurricular activities, I was trying to eat healthy, etc I said to myself, "perhaps you are meeting resistance because you are trying to do things. Do absolutely nothing and let it all go and see what happens." I still remember that exact moment I thought this. It was in a politics class and I was fretting about a pop quiz that was going to happen next week and whether I could understand everything the lecturer was saying to be fully prepared for it. The moment I followed that thought, I stopped struggling. I wasn't trying to listen, I wasn't trying to get an A, I was just being but I understood what the lecture was about, I took notes effortlessly, I wasn't worried about the test, and I did all the assignments not because I forced myself to but because it just happened.
I struggled with social anxiety at this time too. I kept thinking, "how should I dress? What will these people think of me? If I say this what will happen? I should appear a certain way to these people. How do I form deep connections? How can I make friends?" etc. But I applied this letting go method and I just chilled. Before I knew it I found myself in a deep conversation with a person I just met and we actually became very close friends.
Even now, years later, I remind myself this philosophy whenever I agonize over decisions or life in general feels too overwhelming. I call it "unclentching" or "doing absolutely nothing."
Awesome ! I suppose you just enjoyed what you did and the results were excellent.
i can say the same, amazing friends and a beautiful girl-friend. all very beautiful. It felt like heaven, i still can't get out of that year, still finding how can i enter that dimension again.
@@adarshmalodia302 release the past, focus on the present moment
I never comment but I have to say this is absolutely and simply logical, also feels right when you compare it to your daily life and the times you have made decisions. But it's really shocking to see 99% of psychologists say exactly the opposite of this, they practice will and discipline!
It depends on your goal. Practising will and discipline will bring you success in life. Abandoning will will lead to the liberation of the mind. Are you content in being a mouse in a rat wheel chasing cheese? Or would you rather stop the chase and the cheese forever?
Happy to say that as a psychotherapist I am in the 1% category. I refuse to brainwash people based on a rigid training. I'm guiding people towards awareness only because I was able to see through all the traps of conditioning, which includes the illusion of choice
All thought is conditioned by our past, and all decisions we make are based on our past experiences. So, all of our decisions are made by a conditioned and reactive mind which is not free of the past, but is a slave to it. True freedom in life requires that we disregard the mind, which is merely the product of the sum of our past experiences and the fears that result from them.
I believe you mean ego not mind
Did you quote that from Freud verbatim? Those ideas are not with merit but are limited in scope as they are century old. Not just any century but the most explosive one in human history.
it doesnt matter. you will die anyway.
Loved this. I was completely void of will when I was in a state of being in non-being, it was quite unpleasant to say the least. I struggle with decisions and thought it was a weakness but this perspective has made me reconsider. Thank you. "Take care what you think. Only the illumined can know reality. Wanting nothing from the world, they are still here with everyone and less certain than we."
Did you begin making decisions again,, and how was it for you?
It's not "how do I get to a decision-less state of mind."
It's looking at your thoughts and feelings (body sensations) and realizing they come out of nowhere. You don't choose them. How would you choose a thought? By thinking of it and seeing how it makes you feel, no? Except you don't choose how it makes you feel, nor did you choose to even think of it in the first place. You just thought it, and felt something about it.
Choice IS the illusion. It's not how to get there. It's to see that you never had it. And life has still been meaningful, incredibly so. There are still morals. Still rights and wrongs. Your conscience hasn't gone away. You learn (thank God).
But even then, we don't consciously choose to rearrange our brain neurons such that "Aha, now I've LEARNED this."
No, it just happens.
You're living a story. There is no choice. The idea of choice is the ego, and probably even the devil, too - if we're playing with metaphors.
Simple explanation sir ☺

well said 🙏
Not making a decision is a decision.
By not choosing, you choose.
It is your will to do so.
It's conscious volontary decision.
So the expression of will power.
Otherwise you believe yourself to be a slave. You glorify it, and are proud of it.
How amazing.
May this man be bless in the living of its self determined glorious life.
Depends what decisions you are or are not aware of
NO, absolutely not.
There's a third concept of 'neutral' apart from two opposites. Intellectually conceive that. A whole new dimension awaits there!
It's not about making a decision or not. It's about whether the root cause of your decision is wholesome or unwholesome. If you just do what you feel is right from your heart, then there is no decision and there is no will. You would be in harmony with the world with no mental resistance in your speech or actions, whatsoever.
“Where there is desire, there must be illusion.” Correct.
His words are treasure 💫💫🤍🤍🤍🙏🙏🙏
There goes the will down the drain. So call modern gurus tells you the free will and all. “Will is the strengthen and fortified form of desire. It has every form of resistance therefore exclusive.”

The integrity and austerity of this man can not be missed. It literally pours out of him. Whether one can understand what he says or not, there is nothing pretentious about this man.

This is so deep! ❤ I love how he inquires into the nature of so many of these concepts that society teaches us to cherish and value, but in reality are nothing but illusions. Thank you 🙏
I really love his explanations on whole / holistic / holy.

awsome speech that remind me what Ido Portal said about mouving " don't need to drive my motion because everything is already there I need to know what it stopping it"
Challenges are part of the flow of life in this physical world and difficult decisions will have to be made - only we don’t have to resist difficulties and suffer unnecessarily but deepen our timeless grounding instead
Need for deciding comes when thinking. Still thinking you are the one who decides over your life. After decisions comes seeing, knowing. Not thinking. Illusion of choice necessary to keep up.
Exactly
Until it’s not and then it’s not forever, as long as you don’t think.
This came into my youtube feed a day after having a conversation about decision making with a friend, and basically trying to explain all of what he says here, not as well. Krishnaji strikes!
Yes, the sound of water down a stream. Muted and contained by the ground surrounding it. Like white noise, the sound feels static but there is movement occurring. The totality of the relative motion of thought is gathered as simply as such. Why not throw the fear into the stream?
Wow!
Excellent explanation of Will.

This is a great philosophical view for folks who have achieved very little in life and can’t find purpose. I could see how thinking like this might make you feel better on the inside about yourself.
Your surface-level understanding well demonstrates your superiority and achievements in life.
What about for well-to-do multiple business owners like me? This vid has really helped me to optimise my decision making process...or lack thereof.

a movement that's whole... non fragmented... it seems to me that that's how animals live: they follow the flow, the river of their instincts, they do not think and they don't make decisions... Is that so? if that's so, can a human being come "back" to that, but on another level?
You might be interested in the idea of "non-doing". Beyond thoughts and emotions, which go along with them, there is intelligence which knows without knowing and acts without acting. This intelligence can be found by listening very closely. Its voice is extremely quite and almost completely obscured by the noise of thought and emotion. Nonetheless it is always there. Hearing it means action happens, without someone deciding or acting. Despite sounding esoteric this is very practical and available to everyone.
definitely yes, that‘s the way of taoism. aligning again with the flow of nature.
In my understanding one’s instincts are shaped, to a considerable extent, by past experience and this is where animals and humans cannot be equated so far as this discussion is concerned given the fact that an animal has quite a limited experience in its life as it is focused mostly on its physical survival and search for a mate to procreate, so its instincts are guided by these necessities- eat, sleep, chase-whatever it takes to stay alive. Humans can, if they choose to, have a totally different level of existence much beyond the confines of survival and procreation where they can have innumerable different experiences, like interacting socially or chasing goals or learning something, which will continuously shape their instincts to an advanced level making it trustworthy enough to be relied upon to take decisions regarding the course of their lives.
Human beings is also animal with special abilities.

All desire is an illusion 🤯
Ironically, Freedom is not Freedom of Choice, which is truly freedom of consumption, which is to be free to have oneselve trapped and enslaved. One way, or the other. Great world to be able to pick how, exactly....
I salut Mr. Murti for having taught me that very hard but valueable lesson. That said... the problem is not will. Is not desire. Life IS, after all, about sensual expierences. The problem is a will unaligned and opposed to what is divine, what is true and holy. That opposition will no longer do. For none of us.
It reminds me of another question from Krishnamurti about the Correct Action. Image what it would be like to live without making mistakes, without it being bad or good... Although perhaps putting it that way is the expression of desire.
Making mistakes or good actions would mean there is a person deciding what is good and what is bad. But this idea can be observed as a thought form with which can be identified. Within this thought form there is a created positionality of a person and it's seeming decisions and how a 'person' feels depends on how that 'person' looks at any given situation or decision. But what of the seeming decisions that are made without having an opinion about it? That which decides itself. Is it good or bad?
@@Varryify right, it’s basically how we perceive a decision and its outcomes, did it ultimately “benefit” us or whatever. But of course from the perspective of the universe, things simply *are* - weddings, funerals, award shows, poverty, gala dinners, famine, etc
Thus why the idea of reincarnation and Earth being a school for our souls has been appealing to me recently

I disagree. I say intent is fundamental to spirit, along with awareness+conscience. The important difference is whether our intentions are mindful or mindless.
He's wrong. Will is not desire. Will is intent. Sensual desires are mindless, the desire to be mindful is mindful.
What?

Whether you like it or not, there will be a time when you won't have will and decision as well since you will be totally free from these two.
There must be a will beyond decisions made ..
The will of absolut peace- but its peace in itself. At this stage nothing has to be named will, ad its will is already fullfilled- itd no desire anymore
There is will, but will it is given, not chosen.
Not making a decision is also a decision.
Love in action ❤🎉
So it's not about making no decisions. It's all about being aware of our thoughts. You are on a higher level from which you can watch and observe your thougts which include decision making, etc. Correct?
When you know what's the correct action you don't decide, you just do it. Certainly you've also done this in the past. We all have done it more or less, we just didn't pay attention because our minds are occupied with something, almost every second of the day.
To know like this only attention is required, not thought.
Decision is the product of confusion. The illusion is that we are free to decide, but in reality we are just confused. Right action does not come from decision, because there is no alternative thought which conflicts with another thought, no dillema, no hesitation, no second option and trying to figure out what's best.
I'm not a guru and I haven't at all figured out life😅
But at least intellectualy I can see what K points to, and with countless hours of contemplation and reflecting, I've seen that in the end even when I think I've decided something, that instant in reality I've just eliminated every other possibility and I never have enough data to consider or reconsider. Thus sometimes my doing is right and many times wrong or ineffective.
But with clarity, there is no confusion, just seeing and acting in the right way.
Now can we live completely in that way, which means thought does not interfere with bringing doubts, fear, regreting, ruminating, hypothesising, choosing etc..?
As far as I can understand, thought is only necessary for practical things, aquiring knowledge and skills. Letting it meddle with our psychology, fear, confusion and disorder begins.
You don't control thought, you are thought.
@@mozzie888 Most people think so, it's the normal way of thinking. But while it's true that you cannot control your thoughts, it's not true that you are your thoughts. You can discover this yourself when you pay attention without getting pulled into the process. Thoughts come and go without your intervention. You are beyond thought and you can see clearly that you are still there, even when there is no thought at all.
If there is something really dangerous I don't need to make a choice but I am full of desire, thankfuly.

Exactly!
It cuts before we get the answer…!
To do always the correct is like, for example, a good psychologist and her child: She will always know what is coorrect and always do so, with the very best results.
And does this make for a full life?
Does the psychologist know hiself ? You can't read yourself through books
The right thing
When you are dealing with other people though. Who backs down? I guess it depends on the personality and how they react. Conditioning etc.

I think if "Will" dies that means love, hate, and yes fear dies too and many other if not all senses will die because their all interconnected to from two senses which are lebeled as love and hate but now I'm trying to picture how life would be without all these forces. But I like how he thinks though
resistance is necessary for otherwise the spirit has nothing to pull, resistance is a distortion of what is
in fact a pulling. the spirit will meet you where you are. The will is the locator for that. meekness is the key, not dispensation of will, which is inhuman. it is antithetical to life's purpose to create meaning, to overcome the will. let the will be meek and this might dispense with frustration, which is an emotional symptom of conflicted resistance
Unfortunately, I find hard to understand the meaning of this speech. It would be great if somebody could help my poor head around it.
advaita vedanta ❤
Holistic movement means “no individual “ or “no self “;so there is inevitable conflict inside isolation. Otherwise there must be freedom which means no self motivated decisions needed
It has been a year. I don't know whether it reaches you or not. Thought free observation. When you see a tree, just see it and don't name it or analyse it. Just see it. Why?
Thought is the product of knowledge and ignorance. This combination divides the observation into observer and the observed. The observer is the observed as there is no gap between who is observing and what is observed.

A small piece of plastic popped into the direct center of my eye in January. The pain and infection subsided but my vision is still unclear. It has improved since that time slightly. But the vision in that eye, which was prior to this, almost 20/20, is now obscured and blurred in part. Will it continue to heal? I haven't, fortunately, reinjured it. But the blurriness, almost three months later, remains.
To have will something or one has to decide. Who decides? A question rarely asked in the west due to strong enforcement of ego teachings and labeling/thought desire as the primary mode of reality.
What about the decision to get married?
What talk is this from
When you have to consciously decide usually you are presented with the problem that she's talking about. You become aware of making decision when it affects you emotionally. Is she not aware of this?
can there be a decision withpout attachment to outcom?
This is such a revolutionary way of thinking, because we live in a world, where "will" is worship ...
For example, I play online poker to earn my life, and at some level (probably only on the surface) i can see, what he is saying, because in order to have success on my "poker career" I need the exercise of will day in and day out, and I'm in total confusion because a lot of the time, I think what I'm doing doesn't make sense at all, but I don't know better, and this world always says to us "we need to be disciplined, we need will and so on ... "
But now this awesome man appears , and says > will is destructive or something like that ... can you live without will ?
And I'm not sure what to answer, but I think if I try, I'm not sure how I'm going to buy food or something.... :(
I have been reading K for like 10 years (video and a lot of books) but is like a journey that I'm not sure where is taking to me.... is like think no matter what I do, I will arrive to the day of my death, without really understanding....
At some level, one part inside of me, really said to me ---> "what JK teach, has infinite value" but then one doesn't know what to do.
I guess I will continue investigation until the day of my death.
Thanks for sharing
I found the comments here more enlightening than the video
I don't think you need to understand the Whole. This is not our job. If the good God wanted us to understand everything, He would have explained it to us. However, we are born knowing nothing. So for the rest of our lives, we'll be making decisions without knowing anything. Even without making any decision. you make decisions. Such is the world created by someone who knows better. Live your best life in the material world, because that's what you've committed to and that's why you're here, and don't try to find answers to questions that don't have a clear answer anyway.
The stopping of the movement of thinking is the end of time. That is to say, fragmentation has nothing in common with undivided totality; they share nothing, they do not relate. When one looks at an animal or set of animals, is it a manifestation of the analytical, fragmenting mind, or is the undivided also there?
The human being is a concept, a fragment, which is indissolubly linked to its external, non-human counterparts. The animal or set of animals does not exist, and when we say "does not exist" it means that they are not an independent, isolated entity. But in the illusion of the human being as a species, as an independent thing, the illusion of the animal as such is created. Only the fragment implies, necessarily, decision. When the mind sees that same fragment-decision association it is already opening itself to the holistic, to the undivided: a new order is generated, a totally new association, born of the continuous questioning (thus death and renewal) of the known. In other words: while there is fragmentation, decision, causality, there is no genesis, renewal; death is split from life, space-time reigns and suffering is a tonic. The will not to suffer is also suffering.
That is not true. Decisions bad or good are part of what makes us fundamentally human.
Suppose there were two roads X and Y. You went via X. But due to attention and watchfulness, you didn't carry a memory that you chose road X. This is perhaps flowing with life.
Saying that I should have chosen road Y makes no sense because at any time, the conditioned thought process is taking decisions.

The problem in this modern world is people are just self obsessed, people wanting everything in world should happen as they want which not at all possible unless we want nothing
We can't enjoy freedom unless we are independent so first we must attain emotional independence, which means nothing in this world can affect our inner state of mind.
Once we fix this then we can do anything in this world
The whole world is running in a certain way, if we can't understand it we have to suffer, if once we understand it nothing can make us suffer
our nature is emotionally independent. it is conditioning and how we're brought up that makes us think "okay, now marriage, children, this and that will bring me emotional idependence". anyone who questions that understands the truth.
each "person" is born separate - there is a reason - because we ALREADY ARE INDEPENDENT YET FULFILED as ourselves.

Yeah it’s possible to live a daily life without any kind of will it looks like apathy, laziness, staying in bed with depression and addiction. I prefer having a strong will rooted in the desire for a healthy life :) not disagreeing with the teacher lol but this is just my experience with will
On the contrary no will is not to be lazy but to be fully in the Life. Life is pure energy.
The way he says is - if there is a need to make a decision then that means there is resistance.
So apathy and depression are forms of resistance to the present moment.
When you are in the now and at peace, then life flows through you and you will do the things that need to be done in the moment. In other words, you are the instrument of the consciousness ❤
