I got one for Christmas. Greatest shave I’ve ever had! Even with the Manscaped blades. Can’t recommend enough
Great price point
I encourage you to try some other razors too then 😂
@@OhioShaveswell, that's the thing. For first time people it's good, but sort of in an illusory way. There's way too many of these. For example the merkur futur, which is 80 dollars for a 6 dollar razor rebranded and unchanged. Maybe not the best example though. My first was the Pete and Pedro razor, 50 dollars, which I later tracked down for 2 dollars!!
REALLY appreciate the review. I bought this 2 months ago or so as I just started back with safety razors for the first time in 40 years (when I was a kid, I had the benefit of steady hands and eyes, and wayyy less "geographical features" on my face). I also found a '62 Gillette medium flare tip (the exact one my old man gave me back in the day). At first, I was a little easier to get comfy with the Gillette, but the Plow is my Go To. From your videos, gonna probably get the Henson and probably the Rockwell 6C. I just have to see how they stack up. Thank you!
Thanks for your support 👍Your on the right path. Henson and Rockwell razors are on a whole other level.
Most people by the leaf razor and either the twig or thorn. Great combo. The Henson is a big winner as well if your making the switch from disposable razors. If you don’t get the correct angle, it does not cut, which is huge when you’re learning how to shave with a safety razor. I can’t stress that enough. Thanks for subscribing and supporting the channel.
Got the Henson in the mail today! Thanks for the additional personna blades. Can't wait to try them in my first shave with the copper Henson.
Enjoy!
I'm very surprised! I figured this video would end in you crapping on them before I started watching. Glad to see that they actually do care about making a decent product.
It’s still a knock off. You can buy one for $20 on Amazon without a stamped Head
Normally i like the sound of razor feedback but you can tell that sound is tugging and pulling. Thanks for your honest content brother.
Thanks for your support👍
Personna blades make every razor a better razor. My favorite go-to blades.
My too right now 😁
Other people who use double edge razors may need to substitute "Personna" with something else.
i used feathers as my first blade .very bad choice. fixing to order some persona
USA made or platinum from Germany?
@@OhioShaves I’ve used both and can’t say which is better. Both great blades. Also love the reds, don’t know where they’re made. I would say made in the USA simply from an economic standpoint. All about keeping jobs here.
This razor was my introduction to DE shaving. Had enough of cartridge razors so I tried this out that I had in my bathroom cabinet for quite a while. I got this for free because I had my renew blades for the trimmer and as a reward they gave you some free thing every few months, and thats how I got the Plow. It was okay, wouldn't recommend. The black started coming off of the razor so that was my turning point of adventuring for better razors
They advertise really hard. They do a really good job at it. They have sold millions of men's grooming products. Thanks for sharing. Interesting.
You just need to get used to using a safety razor. Once you do you will never go back to cartridge.
The way you shaped the French beard was amazing. Fall in love that. I have French beard but not the same. Can you do like separate video how to shape the French beard with safety razor?
Yes I can
@@OhioShaves waiting for it
Considering it’s designed to shave the groin first and foremost the fact that your able to use it on your face it does well.
"For face use only"
5:41 legit in between each shave the bird chirps. It’s hounds like he’s shaving the bird 💀
🤣 it's a very nice oak tree outside my window. These birds sing every morning. I actually enjoy it.
Shaved his feathers
So satisfying thanks for the review
My pleasure 😊
Watching you shave is different. I just used barbasol, hands and a non single blade razor and had a preference based on availability before I got my beard trimmer.
thanks for sharing
I bought the plow also because I didn’t know what safety razor was even and it changed my world. I ditched cartridges. Why is it considered entry level? Does it not perform as well as other safety razors?
For the money, it shaves very well
I thought there was just a lot of Hype! It's just a re-branded $20 razor. Save your money.
Well that's not at all contradicting
Thanks for the advice. I'll keep using my Parker 97R then!
@@nathangehman7018he thought there was just a lot of hype and there is/was
I think he means save your money by buying this product and not a more expensive one.@@nathangehman7018
Wait what? I’m confused.
That’s a generic razor that’s rebranded by a lot of other companies, and Manscape charge atleast 2 or 3 times the price. Sort of like the Rockwell R1, which is a weisi or Dorco that’s been rebranded and doubled in price.
Great video, thanks for the content 👍
What is it then?
Welcome. That would be a great topic. Thanks for the suggestion and your support
NOT the only example of this. Consumer's best choice depends on much online shopping, checking some forums, maybe also checking some UA-cam videos.
The razor head is derivative of the Edwin Jagger DE89 and Mühle R89, which was a collaborative design effort between both companies (possibly introduced around 2003), as both were previously using Merkur heads. Numerous brands have used the design. Perhaps a better, cheaper option is the Maggard MR18 Safety Razor (with their 'Standard V3' head and wonderful MR18 handle). An even cheaper model is the Yaqi RAC1801, though they offer several varieties including RASS1902, RAS1912. Or one could simply buy the razor head (SRH04 or SRH04G-NL (in gun metal)).
Give a shot to the parker 26c . Very good open comb and doesn't bite ar all
Good to know👍
Looks very similar to the design of the Rockwell 2c. For a beginner I'd rather buy the Rockwell because they will sell you plates later once your technique improves. Just my .02
It’s totally different the the 2C. More like R89 clone
Looks very similar to an R89
More aggressive
Hey Ohio Shaves, great video! Thanks for always being so honest with us all. I really do appreciate it so much. I’ve been watching a lot of your videos lately, and I find them so helpful! I’m planning on purchasing a DE razor, but I’m not sure which one to get. I mainly want to focus on head shaves..with some neck line touch ups. I really like he Rockwell 6C so far. Price really isn’t a factor to me at all, I’d much rather spend money on something that I know will work perfectly for what I need. I’d rather ask you for any DE options. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance buddy!
Thanks! The Rockwell 6C is a Winner for your Needs. You may want the 6S because it’s made of stainless steel and In the USA
Sounds good, I’ll take a look at the 6S as well. Thanks again for the help!
@@PhyZiiCxwhat did you choose?
Nice shave!
Thanks Will
Hi my friend. I am from India and Fan of wet shaving. You said water for wash and soak the brush. Everyone used to say specifically like hot or warm water. U just said water. So just wanna know normal or warm or hot water?
Just warm water for me. I don't need scalding hot water on my face.
@OhioShaves as usual another great detailed educational breakdown of wet shaving products. I'm curious if you would do a comparison video of The Manscape 2.0 Vs Parker 78R razor? Both using a Personna blade?
That's going to happen👍
@ you always come with truth I have like 2 of Manschaped razor and forgot about them.
👍
Great review! Will keep an eye out for this razor. Incidentally, have you lost weight? You're looking well. 👍
Great video, thanks and best regards!
Thanks for your support
top review👍have a nice week
Great video as always. Would you recomend it for head shaves?
No. Much better options out there.
Looks like a great beginner razor for those who don't quite want to spend the money for a 6c or Twig. Though, Id still recommend the 6c to everyone. How does it compare to the parker 78r you tried the other day?
PARKER is still a better razor
Plow 2.0 looks exactly like a zomchi.
💯
Muito bom tamanho e peso preciso um barbear seguro São Paulo Brazil
Concordo
hey bro, im wondering what you recommend the most, because i currently have the plow 2.0 razor for about a year now. And im thinking about getting the Ti22. do you think the ti22 is the best single blade razor you ever used? i need help in choosing because i currently do not have a budget for single blade razor blades, so please let me know thanks
Here's my video: ua-cam.com/video/esn8HhWqfEw/v-deo.html
@@OhioShaves so the Ti22 is the best razor , and your go to?
I have a king c gillette safety razor which was $27 and is chrome plated. it looks and feels great but my brother, after shaving with my razor, is really enjoying it. so im trying to decide if there is a better razor I could upgrade to and sell it to him for cheaper than a new one.
its 102g so slightly heavier than the manscaped, it shaves really well (but its also my first and only safety razor). I've been looking at the henson razor, im just worried the weight might feel too light since part of the quality feel of my current razor is the weight in the hands.
Henson is a great razor. If you're worried about the weight, why not a Rockwell 6C. Here's a link to save you some money. If you decide to go with it: Buy Direct and Save-

Great video coming out tomorrow using the plow 2.0
@OhioShaves oh, awesome! I'm going to order one through your link. I've never tried a saftey razor before. Very sensitive skin. In ohio here too :)
Awesome. Don’t forget to pick up a variety pack of blades on Amazon. The ones that come with it are just OK and you’re gonna want to have a variety pack of double edge, razor blades. To See what works best your face.
what is the model of brush you are using ?

Thanks for your support. Much appreciated.
What is the name of the clear block you use on your face? is there a link I can follow and buy.

Whats better that manscape plow 2.0 or the parker 78r or a tie
Most likely the PARKER. I'll have to do a comparison.
@@OhioShaves I'd watch that for sure
i love this product manscape is a great razor i wish i can buy a half a million units every month for ever
👍
I had the first version of the “Plow” and it lived up to that name!😳 I tossed it!
😂 I think this is why they bought a knock off from China. That was a decent shaver.
I agree with Kris…the Plow 1.0 was bad with worse no name blades, tore my face up…
Thanks for sharing
@@OhioShaves Thanks for the videos!
What kind of shaving bowl do you use
I actually use a bowl from any pet store. It is collapsible and it is made for small dogs to make them eat slower. You can pick them up for about four dollars. Works great for me
I bought my safety razor for like $10 at a thrift store. Why buy a new one when there are already plenty out there in perfectly fine shape. Mine is probably 50+ years old and the chrome is still brand new.
One buys what he wants, can find, and can afford. If the razor for $10 from the thrift store works well for you, then this is good. We have options for inexpensive, and for old, and for new.
@@10floz30minutes I just wish more people were willing and able to shop for used products because we could reduce a lot of waste. I'm all for innovation but when it comes to standardized products like this, we should do a better job passing them down to others instead of throwing them away. Assuming it's still in good condition when I'm done with it, I'm gonna donate it to a shelter along with a bunch of blades.
The bigger battle is getting people to switch from disposable razors to get rid of the waste in our landfills and our oceans. Bigger battle.
What have you found to be the best razor in the Rockwell 6c that is affordable and available/easily purchasable? I have the Gillette 7'oclock's right now and the astra platinums.
Rockwell. Not sure I understand your question.
@@OhioShaves like which blade have you found shaves the best in the 6C?
@@wolfenhauzfrom watching a lot of Ohio shaves videos I believe his favorite blades are personas, Gillette nacets and Gillette platinums.
💯👍
@@badtothebone346 thanks!
34$ that's crazy they sell those same razors in other brands for 20$ they probably cost 5$ to make. These companies are making a killing 😳
No shit. Where is this razor sold everywhere. I couldn’t find anything?
@@OhioShaves Lies
What’s that mean
@@OhioShaves Because I am giving you examples of the exact same razor for 20$ just as @Bboykidcombo mentions, but you keep deleting my posts. So you know what some of those razors are.
I bought a zomchi for my first safety razors got it for 20$ it's the same make and model as the plow 2.0. I'm definitely switching from cartridges to double edge blades. My next safety razors is going to be a baili. 🙏
This same piece is named as hajamat trowel razor. Made in china 304 steel handle
Lots of different names. They just stamped this one with their logo.
I think it would’ve being better to use the razors that came wit the razor cause that’s what most users would do, most users aren’t professionals who know what’s good quality & isn’t so using better blades off the bat isn’t a true test of jus the plow itself
I use the same blade to review any new razor. It gives me a baseline to start from. They only give you a few blades anyways. So in my mind, you're gonna have to look out to buy more blades eventually.
So better than a 5.00 joint?
🤔
@@OhioShaves I just got the traditional one where you twist it to open it haven't used it yet. Is this razor better?
What razor is it. Parker?
@@OhioShaves just a cheap chrome one that comes in a blister with 5 blades
@@OhioShaves The name is Assured on the package. What about Feather blades too are Personna better?
I need a haircut lol
😂
I dont even need to full shave since im asian lol
But i have this ugly side mustache edges (not even a full mustache and it just looks gross to me)
👍
Any chance you’ll do a blackland vector review?
If he sends one. I can't afford to buy every expensive razor out there just to review
First Razor I used and I butchered my face! I wish I would have looked up wet shaving before cutting my face to shreds!!
🤣
