The ease of destruction of the ship using technology just slightly more advanced than the ship itself shows just how much they have to fear from the aliens.
Foreshadowing :D
the forest is dark and full of horrors.
Yea they just learned a metaphor from Evans, they immediately flex on the whole planet 😂
😂true…
No. They understood that the wolf represented humanity and little red riding hood represented the Di-Santi.
"I can FIX her" - Whenever i see Tatiana Haas
You do her, I ll take care of sexy alien lady, bro xD
Nah man, she can make me worse!
realest comment of the day
13:23 - you will find out what the nanofiber does
16:44 - you have found out what the nanofiber does
25:20 - and now you know why they don't care about the nanofiber
We will learn to fear again!
Make America Fear Again
Usually it doesn't make sense when the villain goes and reveals their plans, but considering the aliens have no concept of lying until humans explained it to them it makes sense they would be honest about their intentions.
Especially if their intent is to “make humans fear again.” The world-wide eye in the sky and menacing message that we’re bugs seems like a highly effective way to instill terror.
The book didn't have them act like a Bond villan. I suppose the show writers couldn't figure out how to do this part and went with a lazy exposition dump.
@@canhamducbet Did you really read the book? They also reveal their plan there.
@@Kaiser58 In the book, they discovered what was happening from the captured data, and we get a summary of the revelations. Sophon didn't show up and start explaining. It was a really neat section, and I was hoping for a bit more creativity.
Yeah, Evans called Wade’s team bugs - also during the first episode in the Cultural Revolution the crowd was chanting “root out the bugs”. It must have sent an extra shiver down Dr Ye’s spine when she saw “You are bugs”
😊👍
and the Aliens are no different than the kids at the beginning when they want to kill all scientists (teachers), making it easier to conquer Earth (China). History repeating itself.
This is even sadder when you read the books. My man Listener didn’t deserve that.
@@requiemlul3140 - You mean Evans? He didn't? Really?
@@rodjacksonx
No. The Listener. That’s the San Ti who warned us.
Yea if nano-fiber existed its creation would change the world, it would be the equivalent of inventing the automobile or the microchip. It would create a new age of wonder and fear, able to saves many lives as well as take them.
12:45, Raj grew up on war stories. Us vs Them stories. Is it a wonder he's in the military?
The paragraph about the nanowire cutting through the ship is the highlight of the first part of the original book. While visually spectacular, its significance lies in the revelation of the secret exchange between Earth civilization and the Trisolaran world thereafter. In the original text, this is referred to as the "Gu Zheng Plan" because the arrangement of the nanowires resembles a Chinese instrument called the Gu Zheng. According to the original setting, Evans intends to invite an extraterrestrial civilization to destroy humanity, aiming for the equal survival of other species. This is a childish idea, but Evans is such a childish person. He gathers a group of people with similar ambitions on the Judgment Day ship, so it's unreasonable to have children on board. The reason for using nanomaterials is that they are sharp enough to eliminate the crazies on the ship while ensuring that the cutting surfaces of the storage devices are smooth enough for the data inside to be recovered. Moreover, this operation concerns the entire Earth civilization and cannot be accomplished by some small group. In the original, it's only after a meeting of military officers from various countries that the decision to use nanomaterials is made. There are undoubtedly innocent people on board, but there shouldn't be children, and it shouldn't be so noisy. The characteristic of this plan should be silent, allowing people to be eliminated before they realize it; otherwise, they would have enough time to smash or destroy the hard drives and storage devices.
In the original book, Ye Wenjie is a complex character. She sends a signal that lets the Trisolaran world know about Earth's existence, but later in her life, she witnesses the madness within this organization, with Evans' thoughts also turning extreme. She hopes to rectify this mistake. Netflix evidently simplifies her experiences. Sophon is a high-tech entity in the Three-Body universe. Utilizing it enables real-time communication based on quantum entanglement at superluminal speeds. This information is gleaned from the data on the Judgment Day ship, which Ye Wenjie is unaware of. Sophon can display characters on retinas, create illusions like cosmic twinkling to deceive astronomers, and interfere with experiments in particle accelerators, hindering humanity's exploration of the deep structure of matter. This ensures that humanity's technology does not make any significant breakthroughs at its core, guaranteeing that when their fleet arrives on Earth, Earth's technology hasn't fundamentally advanced.
the episode we all want to react to lol
Why are your reactions so fire
The part where she's explaining how the Sophon works is really interesting to me. She's so vague on purpose but also bragadocious and arrogant and willing to share minor details about how it works y tell an enemy how your secret spy disruption tech works? This speaks to a psychological deficit present in their species. They are too sure of themselves.
It's no wonder the Sophon sentient supercomputer is so powerful, when they unfold it from it's proton state, it's literally a motherboard the size of the planet. It isn't all know, it still has to be there with them I think - this explains a lot of things like the scientists "hallucinations" aren't hallucinations - those are subatomic particles being manipulated directly on their retina's. That's how they were so easily able to time it with the "universe blinking scene" previously. If they had been dosing these scientists with something to make them see something they wouldn't be able to control it with that kind of accuracy
The scene where the Sophon flies thru the building and hits the back of Jin's head and she freaks out and takes off the helmet. That was no projection of feeling into her mind by the helmet, it was one of the Sophon's literally in the room with them.
Fascinating writing and scientific concepts. I think the fact that it's theoretically plausible based on our current understand of physics makes it even more mind blowing.
1:53 Defend the whole human race and our planet. I’m down!
13:13, I know that the Fire Ships are part of History. Still weird to see Liam Cunningham on the other side of siege of King's Landing. Reminder: Ser Davos was the one on the receiving end of the superweapon.
Mathos :(
This episode is absolutely wild. Nanofibers could do what they depict here, but they would have numerous other uses, mostly nonviolent. Can't spoil any of those uses though.
like shaving
All that panicking and nobody thought of jumping out the boat?
Some did if you watch closely
@@Funnydaliano oooops. Watched it on my phone.
I wonder if the current would carry them downstream towards the wires anyway?
No one mentioned that in the original book, the aliens made a lot of sacrifices to make these protons, but in this show, it looks like the alien technology did it casually
Oooohh what sacrifices
@@aurorapaisley7453
Energy, resources, the big eye was actually created by a whole civilization inside that proton. They actually tried to kill the San-Ti by focusing their suns light with that eye.
The Sophon did say it took all their resources to make 4 of them
Cool reaction😊 yes the SanTi not only learned human behavior from the analogies, they played humans with our own rules lol
Would love to see you react to Shogun if you haven't already.

Alright, the ship's destruction was one of the coolest looking sequences I've seen. That said, that had to be about the the dumbest plan I've ever heard. They reject a missile strike because it has a chance of destroying the data. Data that's storage type isn't known. So instead they initiate a plane that requires untested tech being deployed in a massive project in a foreign country that would have required all trans panama travel to be halted for a time (plenty long enough to make the ship suspicious realistically), and could easily have destroyed the data by slicing through the storage device, having it crushed by rubble, burned in an oil fire, or just simply falling into the canal. Honestly a missile would have had probably a lot less chance of ruining it.
The zither (which is what they call the structure) in the book and the show wasn't the most ideal plan, but they were in a rush. I wouldn't agree that a missile strike would have been better though, the entire point of using the nano-filaments was that even if the data was damaged by the initial damage, the damage would likely be so fine that they would be able to reassemble it. While they were unsure of the data type, they were more worried about the encryption, as the storage medium would likely have to be an existing one (since the Trisolarans couldn't exactly send them some form of advanced storage device). Again, you're totally right that there was a pretty high risk they lost the data in the aftermath, but the same risk (really actually a higher risk) existed with a precision strike. Any strike that would have ensured that everyone the ship would die, would have had to have been too large and destructive. As for the trade impact, they didn't halt traffic to the canal, they built the zither, put it in place, then raised it once the ship was passing. Sure, there would be trade repercussions after that, but nothing that would alert them in advance.
They estimated that they only had roughly ten seconds to kill everyone on board, otherwise those onboard would probably be able to destroy the data. The book shows the discussion in a meeting between officers from pretty much every major military. It was pretty much the large scale first operation involving all of humanity's forces, so the location didn't add any difficulty given the amount of resources that were dedicated to it. All of the alternative weapons discussed were either too destructive, too weak, or too experimental to risk fielding on such a large scale. They knew the nano-filaments would slice the ship, they just didn't initially know if they had enough of it.
@@eigerw Exactly! The TV simplifies lots of scientific discussions in the book.
Please react to koi mil gaya movie its an amazing start of the superhero journey you will definitely love it bro
The koi mil gaya movie is the first installment of the krissh movie played by hritick roshan
One thing that was not addressed is if the sophons can envelope the entire world why can't they just blot out the sun and get rid of the bugs once and for all? I know but I am not sure if that's a spoiler to say 😅
The show left out the fact that when Sophon is unfolded, they actually can be shot down if you launch a missile at it. A proton has almost zero mass, when unfolded, Sophon's mass doesn't actually change (it looks huge but incredibly thin, so thin that it is more or less a layer of light). It's not science fantasy like Star Wars... It's all explained in the books (which the show isn't trying to adapt 100% or else i'll be like going to a physics and engineering class).
I think it’s all an illusion, just a simulation as the stars blinking, they want us to fear them so we waste more time with panic and despair
@@roastpork5437 Not only incredibly thin. It is two dimensional and has NO thickness. :)
@roastpork5437 I know. Just not sure I should say.
Controlling instead of exterminating the pest population of an environment you want to live in is preferrable because it's more ecologically sustainable.
Can i be honest with you? I never understood the interest if watching people’s reactions to something you better just watch yourself…can anyone explain to me?…
Dont read this

Horrible adaptation. The books are so much better than this show. They change a lot of things, and worse, simplified some topics that are essential for the drama.
Duh is an adaptation Sherlock 😂
The adaptation is very good, I just wish they didn't simplify the scientific concepts
Why did Sir Davos kill the High Sparrow? I'm not understanding this episode.
