When you remove the wiper blade either keep hold of the wiper less arm at all times or put it down toward the screen with a folded cloth underneath. If a wiperless arm is tapped or jogged when unrestrained in the up position it will smash the screen. Also often Valeo wipers work better, last longer and fit exactly as the originals compared with Bosch.
This is off topic but I'd love to see a video of how well a rear wheel drive EV does on snow covered roads. I know you say it doesn't snow too much by you but in this wiper video there's plenty. Thanks for these videos and Behind The Battery. Love that channel.
The born handles just fine, we have had a very snowy and freezing 3 weeks, I live in a rural area where lots of roads don't get gritted. The TC really does a good job at letting you get grip to pull away (it super cuts the power), but on one crest I went over there was sheet black ice just on the other side, the back end kicked out for a millisecond, it felt longer, but it sorted itself out really well. Granted I wasn't going more than 35-40mph, because of the conditions, but it made my heart skip and I was thankful the TC stepped in. I'm running all season tyres too. The standard Bridgestone T6 enlite, that came with the car. Seems like a good pairing. It's rare we get snow, so I've never had winter tyres. I think this last 3 weeks is the longest white patch of weather I've seen in the UK in decades.
A few days ago I replaced the original wiper on my 9 month old ID.7 sedan, the wipers was terrible from the start. Bosch is a different world, quietly and flawlessly. I chose Bosch AeroTwin AP17U (425mm) and AP28U (700mm)
I am solving same issue with wipers. A mentioned up, they are horrible from beginning (July 2024). I was in local VW dealer yesterday and ask for new one. Currently they don’t have them in stock because VW is replacing current one by new model. Probably due more claim from driver. So very happy for this video and sharing which vipers are best from other driver. BTW, VW dealer told me, that price of new original wiper is 76€ 😮.
How much? 👀🤯 The wipers on the Cupra born I've not found brilliant in these greasy conditions. It seems to take me twice as long, and twice as much fluid, as any other car to clean the window
I have a good tip for crystal clear windows. Put 1 cap of Salty in your washer fluid it removes the salt and then you don't get that film on the windows. But I'm not sure you have salt on the roads in Passau like it does in Norway.
I dint knkw what eioers cone on the Born but in this weather with the salt grease, they dint seem to be the best. Tronity has been flakey over the last two weeks for me! If it wasnt for the ABRP integration id be seriously thinking of binning it. Ill give it anther month, but it may ne going.
Finally a functioning wiper. It's a shame that VW equips their premium EVs with wipers that don't work. But for 20 EUR it can actually be fixed. Thanks for tip :-).
You can always turn on the A/C button, since there is no reason the A/C compressor could function at this temperature. By the way, the optional heat pump compressor will always turn on here no matter the A/C indication is on or off.

Went to my local VW dealership and they don't have them either... They've had to source from the factory last I heard!
Do you experience any issues with your rain sensors on your ID? Mine suddenly stops cleaning the window sometimes or doesn't even start the wipers when it is not raining that much. Already went to my VW dealership and they just told me, they can't do anything about it.
My id.4 also has poor wiper design. It changes direction directly in the view area and leaves a film on the windscreen. The most horrible are the spray nozzles. They are patheticly weak, and combined with a tiny wash fluid tank it is almost dangerous in conditions where heavy use is needed.
I just found out, that the Bosch A121s would fit better. The passenger wiper is then the exact same size as the original.

I have the identical problem with my ID7 Tourer (November build). I'll tough it out until the wipers are completely gone but good to know.

The OE wipers in our market cost only equivalently 14 euro even if bought from dealer.

Hi - I notised that "Hank" still not have 5.x ID Software (logo headup display) is it not possible to get 5.x update when on 4.x ?? does anyone know ?
I change wipers every 15000km or in april and september.
The factory wipers from VAG are lousy. Something wrong with the rubber material itself. I've always bought AeroTwin from the start.
