For the same reason they sell both a Golf GTI and GTI Clubsport. Marketing and up-sell.
The real question is when will there come an ID3 R model?

Anyway, since I'm driving an EV and think about its consumption, my usual speed is 111km/h on a highway (close to 70miles/h) or 123km/h if I'm in hurry. Rarely more. So even the 160km/h limit is more than enough for me
I wanted the normal gtx but in Belgium the normal GTX has only a few options and the performance is almost full option. When you configure the normal gtx like the performance he is about 6000EUR more expensive so I ordered the performance
In the UK the pre launch marketing was about both GTX and GTX Performance, with the differences being the extra power and DCC. However in practice they never launched the GTX, only the GTX Performance is on sale here.
An Id3 sportscombi would have been great.

I bought a 2021 pro last year thinking the 3.2 software would have ironed out issues. Along with buying a european car. Have been back to bw approx 6 times with nothing but software niggles. Cannot wa😢it to get rid.
Are both gtx and gtx performance the app550?? Could software make the 210 a 240 kw?? Asking because I have a tavascan 210kw

Mein ID.3 hat SW 3.5 und die Reichweitenberechnung funktioniert einfach nicht!
Die Topologie wird nicht berücksichtigt und wenn es mal kurz ein wenig bergauf geht denkt die Navigation so wird es jetzt für immer weiter gehen.
Das Resultat: Das Navi will mich von der Autobahn leiten oder sogar umdrehen lassen.
Zuletzt bei Fahr durch die Schweiz: Das Navi will mich eine Stunde lang umdrehen lassen und zurück zum Lader schicken.
Am Ende komme ich beim Lader mit 24% Akku an, weil das Navi nicht berücksichtig, dass es bergab geht.
Das passiert bei jeder Urlaubsfahrt.
Bitte mal die Reichweite des Kanals nutzen um ein Wenig Druck auf VW auszuüben.
Ich bin stinksauer, dass so ein grundlegendes Feature so primitiv implementiert wurde.
Gibt momentan super Angebote für den id3 Pro S... Zuschlagen:))
Why indeed does the ID.3 exist at all at 2:36 the price we are asked to pay in the EU? I'm not talking about the model versions, I'm talking about the comparison with the same VW car in China at less than half the price. VW thinks we are fools. VW-Kraft? Nein, Danke.
The reason this car exists is because the Diesel management did not want any real competition to the ICE golfs. So they signed off on a plastic kludge hoping nobody would buy it and stick with their beloved Diesel cars. Since now VW are facing financial ruin the management decided to try and keep the company afloat by producing a real electric car the ID2
ID3 has significantly more interior space compared to the Golf. They say it has Passat interior space and Golf exterior size. It is very comfortable indeed and feels very nice on the road.
I don't understand why anyone would buy a VW ID3 over a Kia EV3, except maybe if you want a quicker, sportier vehicle?
Kia EV3 looks OK, but I would select Skoda Elroq.
Charge speed and rwd?
There are plenty of differences between VAG and Kia/Hyundai cars that come down to personal preference. In terms of those specific cars, the ID3 drives brilliantly and the EV3 is yet another boxy small SUV that will roll a lot in comparison - and it's front wheel drive. On the upside it has a bigger boot. For me having a family, it's still not big enough to be a first car, so we have the ID3 and also an ID4 (but could easily have been an Ioniq 5, they were both very good).But like someone else said I would prefer an Elroq over an EV3 if I wanted that type of small SUV car. (What I really want VAG to make is an ID3 estate).
Coming from a Hyundai Kona and Ioniq 5, the beeping noises is something I do not miss with my ID3. Beeps for absolutely everything... Also the Hyundai and Kia cars still has the wacky 12v battery issue. The 2025 Ioniq 5 apparently still have the ICCU errors still too
