What I find baffling is how grey dealers always look at all Rolex buyers as flippers or interested in flipping. This is not true. Many people buy what they love from the AD, period. Who cares how much you guys like a watch based on the secondary market. Also, Rolex will never, IMO, encourage their ADs to offer discounts. That's absurd nowadays. Lastly, even with the price increases, Rolex watches are very reasonably priced compared to lesser brands like gold Piaget, Chopard, VC, etc....
All Rolex buyers are flippers. Don’t kid yourself into thinking that they are not. Flipping at various stages is a must for almost all Rolex owners. It’s a part of the collection game
Why would it be absurd for Rolex to offer discounts. Right upto 2018 they were offering discounts. I know some AD’s to this day offering steel sports models when you take certain precious pieces
@@gmgwatches depends on how you define a flipper, to me a flipper is someone who buys a watch on a Monday, then sells it by Friday after ringing round all the grey market dealers to get an extra £100. Someone who buys and enjoys a watch for 5 years and then moves it on isn’t a flipper.
100000% the prices increase on Grey market for the 2023 / 2024 versions from a 126715….as less buy from an AD, people looking on second market - i would do so if I havent one already
Interesting only a 1% increase on steel. Its almost like Rolex admitting theyve hiked too much and their client base is dwindling now ‘investors’ have gone. They cant decrease RRP but its as good as with inflation around 2.5%. I wonder if theyve done that to drum up more support for steel pieces and prop up the wait lists so people buy overpriced gold or CPO pieces to ‘get on the list’

Prices increases is due to materials costs, inflation and ultimately Rolex challenging the grey market profits over their own pre-owned platform.
