Love your voice and soul John . One of my favorites .. Keep the Faith the few interviews I have seen with you lately, as they ask you about John, love you do not speak ill of another Brother.. God is love ...
As a displaced Arkansas delta native, I just found this song and can’t even begin to describe the homesickness this pulls out of me. Grew up in southeast Arkansas where the landscape is just like this. Really means a lot to have a song and video that gives a little love to my homeland. Not to mention John’s voice is amazing.
I'm an Arkansan all the way through! So when I heard this song, all I thought was: "It's so nice to see others that are finding the same beauty in Arkansas as I do!!" 💟💕💟
John Oates has always had an incredible genius for being able to get the vibe of a place or situation and put it to verse. I'm at a stage of life. I appreciate his solo work 🙏 more tha. Ever before. I'm 62 and have been a fan for over 50 years. Arkansas is getting the love it deserves from this great song!
This is where I'm from. This song is everything about that natural state. The trails, the rivers and creeks, the wide delta up in Jonesboro where I went to college. All of it! The hidden parts of Little Rock. The land outside of Fayetteville where I spent a decade of my life. I'll never be shed of Arkansas, and I don't want to be. I hope I end up there again one day. Arkansas runs deep in me, John. Thank you for this song.
I’ve lived in Wilson Arkansas all my life! Glad to see John’s visit to our little town inspired him to write this song and make the official video here! Thanks John Oates for this beautiful piece of art! Hope to see you come back!
Thanks, therexs alit of things worth living and dying for, I only drove through. You should take a look at some blues from Willis, youxd love hope without it hoping for someone like you
My favorite song right now and probably forever. I moved to Tucson Arizona like 2 years ago and I’m so home sick. I’m from Arkansas born and raised and this song hits home for me.
It is a beautiful song, and being from Arkansas, I would like to say it brought back memories of having to work in those cotton fields, where my family made their living raising cotton back in the 50's. As a young lad I remember having to pull a cotton sack 10 hours a day, picking cotton by hand, no mechanical cotton pickers back then, but I wouldn't change a thing.
John you only ripen with age to a sweet fruit!!! I have loved you and your talent since I was 3 years old, running around singing Sara Smile lol You will be in my city Charlotte and I will be meeting you for the first time in my life! I waited 43 years, since i was 3 for this day and I can't wait!!! Love your new album!!
This is a beautiful song, John, and I'm happy to forward it to my friends -both musicians and civilians. I'm glad to see that you're still as productive as ever.
Discovered the song on a hiking video of a person hiking Arkansas’ Ozark Highlands Trail. I am going to buy the album. I am thru hiking the Ozark HighlandsTrail in 3 weeks. Absolutely will be on repeat for my two week hike.
@@Stucifer Listen to songs like "How Does It Feel To Be Back", "Love In A Dangerous Time", "If That's What Makes You Happy" and "Melody For A Memory". John's done plenty of lead vocals. The "Abandoned Luncheonette" album has a lot of him too.
You know we all say we want to leave home and move somewhere else to this and do that I really never love a state like I love Arkansas where the natural state for a reason
Well done buddy!! You made me feel that song John. Wow, I must go for a visit. 💜💜💜 What a peaceful easy feeling I have after listening. Thanks for showing up again after all these years. You were missed brother. 💜💜💜😘😀👃👃👃
On the off chance this will be read...by John Oates...saw you at the beautiful Stephanie Weill theatre, your first time in Sheboygan last night. Fantastic...but you experienced the phenomenon here... Wisconsin folks are slow to build their enthusiasm for "new" music/sound. Once you are in, you are in for life. The small but welcoming and appreciative audience were there because it was you and *not* Hall & Oates. Hearing many of your influences...Philly, folk, Colorado, etc., in your live show, I love roots music and your treatment of it, but all this said...you did You Make My Dreams Come True in Sun Records style. That was fresh, fabulous, and fun! (I would buy that record, is what I yelled from the front row but the group celebrating a couple's engagement drowned it out). Please make that album...or at least you tube a few session songs... Disappointed, I was hoping you would do a meet and greet... I bought your memoir and read it... Sure would have liked to have met you and have you sign it to me. I look forward to catching another show in the future. Thank you for coming to Sheboygan!
I would love it if the artists of my youth all took it upon themselves to write and produce REAL music about the things going on these days. We need the voices of those who know the heart and soul of this beautiful country to sing their songs and mayb, just maybe, be a clarion call to the youth of our nation and the world about the blessings we all share. This song is a great start but we need more, much more!
.I love this( real) gritty, passionate John, Could I say spirit filled ? I'm a lifelong Friend-which I say because you helped shape my world as we bothe grew up together in the 70's -to this day. I pray your days will be filled with deep joy and peace. Thanks for the Adult Education and from me ; love, sweet love to you and yours. PS You STILL have one of the cutest Bumms in the music world- no disrespect. Ms. J. H Love Deb K'

Delta kid
The delta is calling you home. Come join us where the cotton grows and the mosquitos can carry off a grown man.
Born and raised in Arkansas. Deployed right now with the Arkansas flag hung on the wall. I can't wait to go back home.
Stand strong brother I've been there . Arkansas stands with u

It's I'm an arkie not Arkansan unless you love riding Kansas's nuts wtf lol L
It doesn't get any better. Purest, most American genre, John Hurt's Guild. For my money, this is the best song I've heard from John Oats.
