Wow. You did so good for your first time. Mine was a disaster. I read so much on their care, but then I had a really hard time with cutting back on the watering in November because we had such a warm November and December. I gave it about 1/4 cup water several times. This is what happened: the leaves never dropped, and the two canes that had flowered the previous year (I purchased it when it was in bloom) ended up sending out over 20 keikis. I hoped the leaves would fall off a year later, and just be behind schedule. They did eventually fall off, but flower buds never grew. Instead I got even more keikis. That overwatering totally messed up their whole cycle.
Hello Nicole, this dendrobium really did well since you got it last July, from seedling to maturity in 7 months, it means that you have been able to give it the conditions that it needs. Having seen your setup, I am not surprised. Congratulations and thanks for sharing. Some comments below are surprising...!
Thanks as always for watching Andre! 🤗 I can't wait for the pink one I have to bloom. I am really enjoying the fragrance. How is your Catasetum coming along? Maybe this can be your next deciduous orchid ☺️
@@NicoleDeanna my catasetum is dry as a bone and the pseudobulb shows no sign of shrinking, I can hear it asking for water but I tell her : NO Nicole said no water until you grow some roots !
A video came up on Instagram of this orchid growing up on a tree in Thailand. I needed more input. Glad you came up on a Google search. Loved the video and the absolute whiteness of this orchid. SUBSCRIBED ❤🌱❤🌱 Thank you
Thanks so much for subscribing and watching, I really appreciate it :) If you have any questions, just let me know. The orchid rabbithole is deep because they grow surprisingly well indoors and are so rewarding when they bloom. Happy growing!
Rabbit hole? How funny is that? Took me forever just to decide which one I wanted. I read too much to have narrowed it down. Ended up knocking on neighbors door and asked her to choose a color. I already knew I wanted a seedling. Best way to learn. From the beginni❤️🌱 Thank you.
It is a beautiful plant and blooming so early in the year is good. That way it will have enough time to grow new canes to bloom next year. Very good vídeo 😍🤗
Thanks for sharing Nicole. I flasked some orchids seeds of Dendrobium Anosnum White. It's my first experience with this orchid and just unflasked the 4 seedlings. Searching, the best media to put tgem on. Daniel
Thanks for both the info, and the encouragement. I have a "Little Sweet Scent" Anosmum, and it is leafless at this point. Hoping for some buds soon. It is mid January now.
Hoping you get buds soon also! My Alba anosmum is starting to bud again, but I don't see anything on my little sweet scent yet either. Last year it was behind by about a month. Hope it blooms soon for ya 🤞
Hi! I love your channel. In fact, I purchased the fragrant package from Carmela's based on your video. I received two dendrobium anosmums, too. But mine don't look as healthy as yours, unfortunately. Everything else in the box was in great shape, but the anosmums have developed yellow leaves with green and brown bull's eye spots. I've sent pictures to my local arboretum plant clinic. Hoping it's not a big deal and I can get results like yours!
Thanks so much for watching! I'm so glad you like the videos. I hope it's nothing but if it's something, I'd contact Carmela Orchids and see if they can send you replacement anosmums! They usually have good customer service, so I'd expect them to make it right if it's a virus! On the other hand, Yellow leaves are normal as they are going into dormancy but bulls eye spots are not. My fingers are crossed for you!
Hi. I contacted Carmela and they told me not to worry about it. It did drop all of its leaves, but it's still alive. They did not, however, tell me what it was! Long story short, I'm still curious!
@@janicelindegard6615 the leaf drop is normal, maybe they fell off with the spots because they were getting used to your environment? I'm glad they replied to you. I hope you get nice blooms soon, they are wonderful plants. I wish they bloomed more often 💖
you'll be surprised by how big that will get even growing indoors. Now mine, even growing outdoors in Florida, my canes never reach the length that they do for Roger. They're not short but not as long as I feel they should be. Mine are barely starting to show nubs, so they are going to be late blooming this year, but a couple are already coming into growth which is about a month ahead of schedule. I'm still not going to feed them yet, it is too early, even though they're growing.
I may have to let them hang if they get lengthy. I really enjoy this one. The Fragrance is phenomenal. The entire grow space smelled like it, especially on the first few days. I didn't expect to like this one as much as I did. I look forward to seeing when you post yours on ig!
Hi how many years you waited for it to flowers from seedling to this beautiful flowering orchids. As i have bought a seedling and i am not sure how long i am going to wait. Ty

Hi Julie, I bought her in June 2020 and she flowered February 2021. Anosmums can bloom quite young!
I have this one... I think I didn’t give it enough period of dry rest... started making keiki instead. 😑
It's ok, next time you'll get it! They can definitely be tricky!
@@NicoleDeanna yeah. Hope so! I am “black or white”, “yes or no” person so all those dry rest types, I try not to have that many...😬
@@orchidsbythelake I completely understand. I find with these it's so much 'grey' area so it can be tough. I hope yours blooms next season.
What is the humidity in your space for these?
40-50% in the winter, much higher in the summer, up to 70% then.
