Hi Cara from across the border in West Sussex! I’m busy sewing up a friend’s handmade wardrobe as she has motor neurone disease and can’t sew anymore. However that hasn’t stopped her from creating a dream wardrobe and I’m now her hands to sew it all up. It’s been so interesting creating for someone who sews but also is now a wheelchair user. She sure has a lot of plans and lots of yummy fabric that I wouldn’t have sewn for me but suits her beautifully! How lucky am I?
@@sosewmad I've just received a fabric haul of baby related fabrics! I'm going to be a Grammie this summer! Our very first grandchild and the first grandchild on both sides!
Love your makes, Cara - you’re so talented, not just at sewing but also matching fabrics to patterns which really suit you! Not that I think it’s needed, but well done to you for your weight loss program- I’m sure you already feel reinvigorated 😊. I went to the V&A last weekend and saw the Chanel and Diva exhibitions, which were glorious! Just a little tip - if I’d known beforehand, I wouldn’t have bothered to take so many photos as you can get a beautiful big book at the end of the Chanel exhibition with lots of stunning photos and information, which is currently on offer half price at £20 (or £18 for members) and it’s a lovely keepsake. Have fun ❤xx ps love the earrings and there are also some lovely ones in the V&A shop!
Hello Cara, I do enjoy watching your vlogs. Your makes are just amazing. I am also doing the learn to fit course, I have learnt so much already and am looking forward to part 2. I have just made the Maison Fauve Dandelion jacket, and am so pleased with the fit. It's also the first time making a lined jacket. That's what I love about sewing, there is always something new to learn, to stretch your brain cells a bit 😊
How exciting I'm loving the course, isn't it great to get your brain cells working on a project! Love the dandelion, I do hv the pattern and I will make it, eventually ☺️
Thanks for sharing the info about the fitting course, I thought I was going mad as every time I clicked the link from size me sewing it didn’t work, now I know why. I love the Pilar jacket and the blouse, those colours really suit you. 💙🧶🌈🍓
So enjoying your videos as always. I just so wish MF would include layers and more features for the pdf versions of their patterns. I have little time to sew and use a projector to cut my patterns. I just can't take the time to stick together paper pieces and adding A0 printing to the cost of a pattern makes it just outside of my reach, not to mention tracing. I know the companies have their reasons, but it's tough to miss out on these gorgeous stylish patterns!
That's such a shame. Maybe it'll change in the future. I love putting A4 pages together I find it v relaxing and luckily never takes me too long. Thank you so much for your lovely comments it means a lot to me
Your Pilar jacket and Chelsea blouse are gorgeous! I’m thinking of getting the blouse pattern for my upcoming birthday. February has been a month of sewing tops. Finally made the Arlington sweater and am so pleased with the results. Of course, the weather has warmed up 😂. Happy sewing, Cara!
I’m really looking forward to doing the fit course once it’s available again, I was once able to cut out a 12 top and a 10 trousers straight on of the packet but these days I have to negotiate narrow shoulders, full bust adjustment and hormonal belly. I don’t fit into any specific size except maybe a pillowcase. I’m glad you mentioned it, I had previously thought it wasn’t going to be available and that I’d missed it but they confirmed it will be back as soon as tech allows. X
Fabulous makes Cara. You are so inspirational. You mentioned Legend textiles and I just wanted to ask you something about their fabric. I know you purchased some Ponte a while back and I wanted to order some but previously when I’ve ordered Ponte online from other sources I have not been happy with it. It has pilled after the first wash and wear. Legend have 2 types. Can you recommend either and are you happy with the fabric. Hope you can advise me. Thanks so much ❤
@@sosewmad thank you so much for your prompt reply - how did you know it was the collar that attracted me🤣? . You’re not only clever at sewing!! I’ll give the pattern a look. Thank you again
Lovely blouse & jacket, look forward to seeing your Pogonip, just finished mine as I watch you. Interested to see your husbands jacket too, I made my hubby one a couple jeans ago and it sort of drowns him but not sure I can adjust so may have to make another
Hope to see your Pogonip on the reveal day! My machine seems to have stopped sewing button holes, so that isn't helping. Sounds like a great plan to make another jacket for hubby!
Cute 60’s jacket!😅
Thank you

I'm sorry to hear about your friend but delighted you're getting to use your amazing talents! ❤️
Thanks Cara. It’s a horrible horrible disease but being able to keep her creativity going for a bit longer is a privilege.
Great vlog x
Thank you
That blouse with the Pilar and the pans you made before will look amazing together! Good luck on the suit jacket!

Great makes Cara. Your Pogo fabric I have just used for a Marlo cardigan.
I bet that has made a wonderful cardigan!

The ponte from legend Textiles has been great for me so far and I wear my trousers all the time. It hasn't pilled at all
Slimming Wells???

What is the jacket pattern you are wearing.
Hi, it's a shop brought I'm afraid. But the cocoon coat by Sew over it has a very similar collar

@@sosewmad oh no 😟 I used heavy duty press studs on my first pogonip as the fabric was thick I couldn’t do button holes.
@@nicky-Sewandsnip I wish I had too, but impatience got the better of me
