I love the scene when The Mask sings Cuban Pete. It's so funny and very Broadway-esque. I really really love the bit toward the end where he appears over the bar and pulls a Clint Eastwood with that line from Dirty Harry. "Now you have to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya....punk?"
The comment at the end was originally a line from Don Knotts in "The Ghost and Mr Chicken" where he played Luther... a nervous reporter investigating a haunted house. The line was "Attaboy Luther" and was said multiple times during the movie by somebody off camera.
Ahh...man Cameron Diaz was something..! "The Mask" cartoon was good too. Those were the days. All the movie characters have done justice to the original characters just like in the cartoon.
Oh, I watched this in the cinema and remember when Cameron Diaz entered the bank. Complete silence in the theater and then the biggest ovation you can imagine 😅❤ Great video as always!
The " That's a spicy meatball." line was first introduced in a 1969 Alka-Seltzer commercial that spoofed the filming of a commercial for Italian sauce. The "commercial" actor keeps blowing the line and after innumerous takes (and eating of meatballs) the actor needs the relief of an Alka-Seltzer. Fun movie; love the incorporation of the Tex Avery style of animation. 🤪 Enjoying your channel & reactions.
Glad somebody mentioned that. I, too, remember those Alka-Seltzer TV ads. Weird, more time has passed since "The Mask" was released than the span between the ad s and the movie!
Also the commercial with the guy sitting on the edge of his bed "I can't believe I ate the whole thing !" over and over again and his wife disgustedly says "You ate it Ralph." Those commercials were replayed for years.
Thanks for commenting & reminiscing. Now, who remembers Alka-Seltzer's 1950's jingle of "Kerplunk goes the tablet that gives the fizz, Get that feel better feeling that Alka-Seltzer gives." and continued for several more lines, later to be replaced by "Plop, plop, fizz, fizz. Oh what a relief it is." Man, oh manischewitz; I'm old!
They were going to add his voice recordings later and just have him lip read the script but Jim figured out how to talk with thise teeth in and it worked even better
The Mask is based on an ultra-violent comic published by Dark Horse comics i believe. The film was originally intended to be a very violent but was decided to be tone down by the writers.
Wow. I’ve seen this movie so many times because of the dog and not Cameron Diaz and I never knew that was the set from Ghostbusters and I’m an 82 baby so GB is my wheelhouse or at least I thought it was 😕. You really do learn something new everyday. 🍻
This movie was actually supposed to be a scary movie but they changed it hired Jim Carrey and found Cameron Diaz when she was modeling and this was her first movie and she did very well.
Funny, you should mention Joker. The Mask was originally a mini series put out by Dark Horse. They did several mini series of the mask. They also teamed up with a couple of other comic book companies. One of who was DC now the Mask/Lobo was a fairly nice mini series but not more thsn meh, but the Mask/ Joker. Now, that was great. When the Joker got the mask he spent 3 and a 1/2 issues just wrecking Gotham and at the last moment.Batman appealed to Jokers ego and got joker to take it off.Apparently joker and Doel come from the same brain factory.
If you'd like another movie with, to me, a pretty funny death scene, I'd recommend watching 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' from 1992. It's a comedy horror film that's is not really connected to the later TV show.
Lmao - yeah, former bank worker here…nobody was getting hit on or getting dates by working there. “People are funny about their money” we said weekly.🤭 Not sexy. Ever.
29:30 does it freeze here for anyone else? Son of the Mask was pure trash Tom & Jerry ripoff 21:51 Peggy fate in a deleted scene Fun fact: The Mask was initially a comic series and after this was a cartoon series (although not voiced by Carrey) and included Milo
when mom said, "isn't she smoking" not even realizing later on the masked Jim would say the same. "SMOKING!"
20:39 “[SINGING]”
Thanks, subtitles, that’s so helpful.

Notice he starts spinning like the Tazmanian devil pillow on his couch where the mask was laying.

Can't believe I didn't recognise Redfoot from The Usual Suspects

Milo's the real hero
When camron Diaz looked her best
Lmao - yeah, former bank worker here…nobody was getting hit on or getting dates by working there. “People are funny about their money” we said weekly.🤭 Not sexy. Ever.

I find that weird that it shows the pj's he wore from the day before and not that night, they should have been striped.
Richard Jeni committed suicide in 2007, funny man with too many issues.
😢
Son of the Mask sucks, with different people and same breed of dog but not milo
