I have mine paired with a Sony NW-A55 which adds the benefit not having to worry about the charge button position since the WM port as well as iOS devices do not charge the Q3.
With the Q3 plugged to my phone, and a headset connected to the Q3, can I make phone calls? I do not mind if the mic used is the one on my phone, but I want to listen to the caller in my headset. What phones have you tried?
Q3 has better technical ability, but the Hip has more power. If you're just running normal impedance IEM then get the fiio. If it's a mix of higher impedance IEM or headphones definitely the hip
this video made me decide on the Q3 rather than get a Hip Dac2. my headphones are not demanding and I prefer detailed and clear sound. the moment you said that the bass is treated with more taste was the nail that sealed the coffin of the v2.
Thank you I actually have a Q3 but I really want also I call it a hippie sound 😃😆 + the bass boost is great so either Hip dac or Zen Dac... I am not sure yet...✌️🔆
@@deryjacket i have the same problem too. Playing 24bit 96khz alac on apple music and it still show the same blue light. Some says on audio forum that android resample anything to 48khz
So the Fiio Q3 hasn't enough power for the ATH-MSR7B? You sugest the iFi HIP DAC. Is the diference very distinct? I have a Sony A55 with a pair of Msr7b...the Sony has 70 ohms and i would like to upgrade.
Q3 is a fantastic DAC/AMP with sensitive IEMs.
Yes definitely

I love my Q3 on the sundara much better than with my hip dac weird i know but it just sounds more pleasing to my ears on the q3
Good video, thanks for yout thougts on this.
Would this make a good first dac? I have a few IEM's and 80ohm beyerdynamics
For IEMs it's amazing but anything over 32ohms in full sized it will drive but not impressively

Would these be good for dt 1990 pro’s?
No , nothing high impedance
what should i get hip dac 2 or fiio Q3

I have tried it with my pas4 as a Dac/amp so it didn’t worked out..
Sorry to hear that.
Could you recommend a portable DAC/AMP like this one but for 300 Ohm headphones? (HD 660s2)
ifi gryphon but there is some new ones from fiio and topping I haven't tried yet.
@@jubilant_ear_reviews thanks dude
Hi, i heard somewhere that this does not have a fully balanced dac circuit..... Is that right?
As far as I know it does, but I would ask fiio themselves. For the full specs.

Is this compatible with Sony WH-1000MX4 (if wired)?
Yes it's compatible with any wired headphones that aren't over 32 ohms
How does the Hip dac handl IEM, I mean not the really sensitive...does it hiss...👍✌️
Actually pretty good with non sensitive IEMs , the Q3 is probably a much better choice if you have multiple BA or sensitive IEMs

@@jaroslavfricek7772 let me know what gear you Decide on, both are great. The Zen has a version 2 out now.
Yes yes I know ... exciting I will.... Thank you... off the topic just thinking if I should get Heart mirrors or Jade audio EA3 or both...😁✌️
my q3 always show blue light, even while playing dsd ,24bit flacs
Might be a software problem, please contact fiio
That happened to me on the hipdac listening to Qobuz. The hipdac lights works fine with Tidal. Q3 works fine with both. Both are great!
@deryjacket Did you use android as the source?
@@rizki.adhipraja yes

Do you think it would be a good combo with the ath msr7b?
At 36 ohms they might be a little under power the Hip-dac would be better for full size headphones

What’s a good DAC for the sennheiser IE900’s?
dx7 or k9pro
