You can listen to Brian each week on the 6:05 Superpodcast at 605pod.com.
Jim is a good interviewer, knows when to step out of the way.
Agreed! I wish Jim did more interviews on his show.
I really hope he interviews Ric Flair someday. I feel like just like Jim, Flair has so many stories and it’d be interesting to listen to it!
A goldmine of wrestling knowledge and history right here. 2 of my favorite storytellers. Love this.
this was without a doubt simply fantastic! Going to get this book (Hopefully there’s a Documentary or bio picture on John Arezzi the man has had a unreal career (such a interesting guy) could listen to his stories for hours
What a lovely segment. I didn't know basically anything on Arezzi, but after this interview I'll start digging and looking for his works and involvement in pro wrestling. This podcast always delivers
Only saw John Arezzi on the dark side of the ring talking bout Herbs Abrams and the UWF love hearing bout the good old days of wrestling being discussed sure as shit better than worrying of corny blood pressure over WWE and AEW
I think Brian should let these two guys do this more often
Jim "Midas" Cornette!
Because everything he touches turns into f'ing G O L D
The complete opposite of Vince Russo. Everything shitstain touches turns to shit.😀😀😀😀😀😀
Yep 😂
that must be why corney's been fired from every job he's ever had and his promotion DIED. RIP. 26yrs ago.
Then I guess he never "touched" SMW, because no gold at all came from that (unless one of the gangstas got a gold tooth as part of the gimmick)
@@bladestormviking I miss Smoky Mountain Wrestling.
Just cheered for the 200K+ subscribers! CAKE FOR JIM!
Jim said he wont ask for a cake until he reaches 250k. Which is unfair because he deserves a cake for every 100k which is very hard to get for a wrestling podcast.
Just to see the old footage. I hope John gets a documentary.
Pro wrestling history is so endlessly entertaining, I wish modern wrestling was too!
*points thigh*
*slaps finger*
they focused more on the individuals behind the scenes, no wonder fans and marks are the ones inside the ring nowadays
I get it .....dive, but if most people would take off there rise colored glasses and stop reminiscing about the old days nothing is going to live up to that and it's unfair and unreal to ask today's talent to give you that warm nostalgic feeling you got when you were a kid just accept that the business moved on so you know why wcw died in early 2000 was because they still had Hogan beating up giants and people were sick of it now I'm not saying I didn't enjoy that stuff in the early 90's but but the late 90's the shtick got old but then wrestling sucked again for a real long time. I mean like ten years it wasn't from lack of trying wrestling just tried to regress back to an old formula (i.e. cena beats everyone for ten years straight) I mean yes you could make the argument for tna well tna at its best was Sunday night heat for a long time. Maybe roh but roh wasn't readly available for a long time. Sorry not sorry
Edit: to summarize my long rant today's talent are just as talented as any generation the product just changes and I think it's short sighted to say all they do is ....dive, there is plenty of stuff out there for every kind of fan mat wrestling(zsj Johnathan grishem ) high flying (well you know) hardcore(moxley, callahan, janela ) character/funny(colt cobana/ toru yano) big man( wardlow/braun strowman); whatever you want it's out there it's a great time to be a fan
Rock on!!;
AEW is making history every day. Kenny omega and his group like the young bucks are as entertaining as any of the 60s 70s or 80s era wrestling inside and outside the ring. Watch their vblogs or twitch to know how entertaining an real they are
@@Utellglass Kenny Omega is a goof, Twinkle Toes McFinger Bang
It's cool hearing detailed stories like that about this era that I never experienced unfortunately. Class!
Excellent conversation gentleman! I think I'm gonna have to order that book
Maybe this will be what is on my tombstone: ""Greg Oliver ... your co-author. We need to give him some love here. He does some great stuff as well with The Hall of Fame books, and etcetera."
You deserve all the love and accolades one can give. I couldn’t have even begun to do this without Mr. Greg Oliver
@@ProWrestlingSpotlight keep up the great work Mr Arezzi. Love everything you bring to the table.
Glad you got your props mr oliver. Looking forward to reading the book.
Absolutely great stuff (as always): I could have listened to these two chat for hours. There hasn't yet been a dead-weight interview either on the Experience or Drive Thru: please can we have more?
Jim’s shows are the only podcasts I really listen to or care about, but gosh I really need to start listening to Brian and John’s show. This was extremely interesting and entertaining!
Fantastic. Thanks gents for a great show.
I felt bad for Arezzi talking about how the business and guys like Jake and Russo “Worked” him till the point that he was broke without health insurance. The Wrestling business is really one unto itself,if you arent careful you’ll lose all your mind and money in it. Most stories of outsiders coming in and getting “The Boys” in their ear seem to never end well. It kinda shows you why Vince McMahon never gets TOO close to talent in terms of befriending or emotionally investing in them.
@LastDropFalls I’ve heard of him having bonds with certain talent but if a wrestler tries to push his back against the wall, its rare you hear that Vince concedes and just gives em what they want. Its why JR says “Converse, never Confront” with him, especially about money.
As someone who grew up watching in the 70s, 80s and 90s (I lost interest during the attitude era) this stuff is gold. More of this and less about complaining about the current product will do Jims mental health wonders.
I learned something from watching this
I Helped Lay TheTile in The "Busch's Beans" Guy's Bathroom...Allegedly.
(It was in a Gated Community in GreenSulphurSprings WV.)
Love the show!
Great video! 💯
Great stories! 👍👍
Great show!
That was very interesting!
I hope someone makes a book called Rat Memories lol
Man Wrestlers will shake you down for everything you got if you let them. Especially back in the day, these guys entire lives were one big lie so preying on Marks like Arezzi or Herb Abrams or even Meltzer and im sure many we dont know, was so effortless to them. I got a feeling Tony Khan will have a similar story in 10yrs.
Please...Arezzi was just as big of a carny as anyone.
@@Rjensen2 I mean, there are carny aspects all through the wrestling business....there always have been. But the stuff guys like Roberts pulled on Arezzi....he agreed to do shows for a specific amount and then waited until they were at like the day of (might have been overseas as well) and demanded more money or he wouldn't go on.....there's always a "sell the sizzle not the steak" aspect to the business (similar to old exploitation movies or something), but the kind of thing Roberts was pulling was several degrees worse......he's lucky he didn't just happen to get knee-capped going to the parking lot after pulling that. There are stories of him doing it to other people on other occasions as well.
Nice interview it gave a different insight to the wacky world of Pro Wrestling.
59:35 I would like more clarity on that
To those who commented about Jim and Brian having more guests and interviews; I wholeheartedly agree!!
Is the artwork based on Seinfeld ?
Jim you have to fix these idiots at Peacock I’m want everything for unedited that’s not fair for us wrestling fan please do something God Bless
If NBC were smart anout it, they would charge extra for Peacock users to watch uncensored archival footage of various wrestling matches, but I don't think that's going to happen.
He can't do anything unfortunately. He doesn't own, work for or run the WWE, and they made the deal.
25:22 LMAO
Did Jim Cornette received cable TV in the 1970 s that received Channel 9 Wor TV from New York City
For WWWF Championship Wrestling ??
No, a friend of his did from another state. They went to his friends house and they watched it there.
@@maxxdahl6062 Very Good Maxx do you have or know anyone that's has VCR tapes or DVDS for sale from

Howdy friends
No mention of Paul Heyman....
So John doesn’t like today’s modern artists. Probably because the artist wants control of the work they create. That drives leaches in the record industry crazy. Makes sense🧐
Exactly this.
Say what you want to about Taylor Swift, but the fact that she's going out of her way to screw with the record industry now that she has a lot of power is awesome.
Jimmy!
Wrestling is so shite now its such a fucking shame! The attitude era was amazing! It was a completely different show
First second third fourth fifth sixth seventh and eighth.
I think Rhea is gorgeous but I may change my mind...not a big fan of overly tattoo women and Rhea has said she plans to tattoo her whole body but couldn't get the OK from WWE and only had them on her legs but looks like they OK it cause theyre staring on her arms
Skipped right over the Russo stuff. Obviously trying to get the man to talk bad about Vince.
This bullshit took too long, and I'm not even close to being as busy as Cornette. I respect the hustle but I'm not listening to an hour-long book plug or two senior citizens reminisce.
The doors that way, prick.
