  • Part 3 I start work on the engine and find something nobody wants to see inside it...Rust!

    thats an older donk, but give her a few modern touches & will push that thing along better than it ever did. when you do the risers, upgrade to the newer style, will save the engine later, find a harness, ecu & intake setup from a new 5.7 mpi and get yourself some better economy :P i got lucky with mine and found a 5.0mpi recently rebuilt at a great price in sydney.

      Yeah she's a 40 year old engine now! I'd love to put fuel injection on it. Might be on the cards down the track. We're going to see how it performs as standard first and work from there.
      I'm interested in the newer risers you mentioned. How are they improved? Have you got any more info/pics?

    Phosphoric acid for rust.
    Plastic bag over the end of the magnet easy to clean.
    Strong magnet on the oil filter to catch all the nasties
