Maurice everything you make is amazing. I just sit there completely content watching your videos. Inlay by hand with no C&C machine. Sitting there and hand planing until it fits just right. A true craftsman. I seriously am jealous of your shop. Using a forstner bit with the depth set to remove the center material I wouldn't have thought of that. I would have used a router and lost my fence going to deep into the wood. You're the man!
+joe brown Hi Joe! Wondered if and when you'd show up ;-) Nice to have you here! Yes, a cnc would have been a nice tool to use in a project like this. But, since I don't have one I have to use what I do have. (my two hands included) Thanks Joe!
+Maurice Blok Lol I am getting late alerts on your videos for some reason. Idk what's going on with it my email isn't alerting me anymore either. No worries I didn't miss it. Look forward to your next Video.
This is what I love about youtube, I build a brilliant idea in my head, then think now, someone better than me has already put 100 times more thought into it, let's go see what they've got, pure brillliance mate! What a world we have
Dear Maurice: Thanks a lot for let us all to watch you working. Is a real pleasure to see the passion and perfection you live while working. Thanks a lot for let us learn just watching. A hug from South America.
I always get that tingle when I see someone who is obviously passionate in their work... your concentration cannot be overlooked. I mean, look at his eyes when he's doing it!
I've got a deep appreciation for what you do. I'm no woodworker but it looks as if you put a lot of passion into your work and its apparent from the attention to detail you put. Just wanted to say thanks for uploading these videos!
you have no idea how much i love this piece. ive been obsessed with woodworking my entire life. absolutely love the piece. I absolutely love the workshop too. Its magical place.
Nice to see at 2:14. I have the same sanding machine .... and i must say that i am not really happy with it. My machine is from Bernardo and it is exactly the same. I even have the identic "rollers". You do a real good job. Looks great.
I finally understand why anything with real wood, crafted by hand, is so bloody expensive. Totally worth the money, now that I see the amount of effort put into it. Great craftsmanship! Is this available for sale? And is it customisable?
+Debbie Chen quite a few wrote me and asked if it's for sale and or customisable. I made this one for myself and consider it a novelty item/ project. So far after two hands full of inquiries no one actually ordered one. And besides, there would be safer ways ( due to expansion and contraction of the wood in different climates and seasons) to make a protective case
Maurice, I just stumbled upon your channel and your videos are great. I love the feel of your shop and your style in your projects. The case looks excellent, keep up the good work.
How the hell does this get any thumbs down? Nice woodwork and well-done video. As of today, there are 73 people have identified as the north end of a south-going pig. Nicely done. I'd love to give this a go myself.
Maurice Blok I like it. It's like going to the barber shop and seeing their electric razors with vacuums. It makes me wonder why these aren't standard everywhere.
I found that a really relaxing video to watch. Nice case, very well crafted. Great vid, thanks for sharing. Oh, can I have your shop and machines please!?
+knives&stuff Hoi Maarten! The Birch I've used is flamed. (gevlamd Berken) This was harvested locally and has been air dried for a decade. Then I had it in the shop for three years.
Maurice hope all is well Happy New Year. I check every week for a new project video from ya in case youtube hasn't alerted me. Also I want your table saw lol. Looking forward to new projects from you in the coming year.
Wow! Such fine handiwork! You are such a perfectionist and you put such care into every step of that process. The end product is beautiful. You make me appreciate woodworking and handmade items more and more! Subscribing now!
Awesome piece of work Maurice! How well does it stay closed when you are carrying it? Maybe a pair of magnets may help? You chose some gorgeous timber to make it too :)
+Henrys Workshop I did plan on installing a latch of some kind, opting for neodymium magnets but as all is such a nice fit, snapping the lid closed, there is no need. Thanks for the compliments Henry!
Great work, clean shop and a nice video with no talking, just work. I am afraid the laptop would overheat in the case though. But....you can buy parts to make your own laptop and just install them into a similar box...sell for massive cash :)
Great job. I spent half the video looking at your beautiful workshop and coveting your tools.

Nice to see at 2:14. I have the same sanding machine .... and i must say that i am not really happy with it. My machine is from Bernardo and it is exactly the same. I even have the identic "rollers". You do a real good job. Looks great.

;-)
I do like that vacuum hose you have placed above the saw blade. That's brilliant.
+Alexander Childs To my knowledge this is standard on European saws.
Maurice Blok I like it. It's like going to the barber shop and seeing their electric razors with vacuums. It makes me wonder why these aren't standard everywhere.
Absolutely beautiful case and appreciate the professionally done video.
Fantastic, man.
Exactly what I was looking for. I will try to make one. As soon as it be finished I send you the result. Greetings from Brazil.

Dominic Talerico Hitman or assassin is a potentially highly lucrative line of work....
(plz don't, it's a joke)
Amazing, but I think its gonna be very difficult without professional tool like you got
tools*
It would take me more time to complete one, but it is very doable with just handtools!
Beautiful workshop, do you sell the pieces you make?
Some are commissioned pieces, some I do for fun
Maurice hope all is well Happy New Year. I check every week for a new project video from ya in case youtube hasn't alerted me. Also I want your table saw lol. Looking forward to new projects from you in the coming year.

+Pierre Stromae It is intended for travel indeed. I had, but lost, a neoprene sleeve and made this as a personal alternative.
