  • Some of my Jouef and Lima EMUs and DMU. I have a bit of a collection ranging from Triang, Hornby, Lima and Roco EMUs and DMUs. I quite like them for their design and intended purpose, modernising the railways around the world.

HI steven, that's a nice Jouef Inox you have. I do like the Lima 117 DMU, been after one for a while. The Dutch model looks good, hope you manage to get some more cars to go with it. All the best butty. Carl.

@@carlgauntletttrains3026 Thanks Carl, I haven't seen anything resembling the Dutch loco before. They probably didn't sell that many in Australia. Steven.

Hi Steven, thats a great Jouef Inox Set you have, having 2 power cars makes it run very well. Its also much quieter than most Jouef motors and drives. The Lima 117 DMU is very smooth and quiet runner, and in quite good condition for its age, It will make a nice resto project. The Dutch DMU unit is also a good runner and looks in good condition, maybe some matching cars will turn up one day. Thanks again for mentioning my channel. All the best, Paul.👍👍🙏

@paulvozman842 Hi Paul, I thought you might be interested in the INOX. These sets bring ridiculous money, up to $100 per carriage on eBay. The 117 has been sitting patiently in my cupboard, just never got to it. But it is nicely detailed and worth having as it is. As for the Dutch loco, I didn't know Lima manufactured them. I had never seen one before. The motor and wheels were frozen with rust, definitely a flood victim. The lady selling it to me wanted to cancel the sale when she realised it was in such poor condition. I had to reassure her that I could fix it. Turned out to be a really quiet runner. I will run a few of my other multiple units in my upcoming vids. Steven.

@@stevenpeaketrainsandstuff3682 Hi Steven, I really am impressed how your Jouef Inox ran they normally have very noisy drive bogies.
I have decided to sell mine next month and let someone else find a suitable chassis for the lead unit if they wish. The 117 is great as is, some playwear is normal for its age. I have looked for your Dutch Lima Loco but couldnt find one, it must be quite rare. It does run very well considering the motor was very rusty. Looking forward to seeing your other DMUs.
I have bought a wagon that I have never seen before and will show it on Sunday.
      Cheers, Paul.👍👍🙏

@paulvozman842 Thanks Paul, I've got quite a few to show, I should have shown my Triang versions first, and then shown the others in order of manufacture. This might highlight how the detail and motors improved over time. Only just thought of it. I'll be interested to see your new wagon. Steven.

Well Steven, the Jouef INOX EMU has it on detail, the Lima Dutch EMU has it on quiet smooth running but my pick of the lot would have to be he Lima class 117. Am I showing my British heritage? lol. Three great items from your collection, thanks for showing them. David.

@trainsontuesday The surprising thing about Jouef David is the detail on some of their models, let down by poor motors. That Lima Ringfield in the Dutch loco came back to life surprisingly well, it is so quiet and smooth running. But yeah, the 117 is a good example, it runs so well. Steven.

5:27 formally these would be sold as a set of either a 2 or a 4 piece unit. These were dumped in the masses after Piko and Artitec released their updated version.
Relevant keywords are 'mat 54' and 'hondekop', but be alert for stranded projects. Due to the low price and poor availability of Dutch trains at the time there was a large aftermarket with various rebuilding kits.

@ivovanzon164 I haven't seen this type of Dutch train set before. They probably wouldn't have sold too many in Australia. From looking at ebay, there are quite a few in America and of course Europe. My example will just have to remain an oddity in my collect5, there is no way I'm paying the exorbitant postage costs to complete the set. Thanks for the information about Lima, I really liked their products when I was young. Steven.
