  • In the video I mention the odd buffers fitted to German locomotives and rolling stock.
For the full story you can watch this excellent video: • Why not just make them...

Very nice train, the Schicht wagons are lovely. I have three Hechtwagen from Lima, as it is your first in this train; except the ends of the roof (a free interpretation from Lima, as you said), they are quite a good reproduction of the original Hechts. (Which were in CFR service for many years in the 3rd and even 4th era). Cheers, thanks for the video!

Yes, it's a very nice model and very versatile for interpreting other Central and Eastern European railways. Also for Western European ones as Germany had to hand over quite a lot of rolling stock as war reparations and other pieces simply got "lost" along the way.

That's taught me something new - I didn't know that the flat and curved buffer heads was prototypical. I have a few locos with that combination and just thought they were fitted randomly. I won't change them now!

@@attuslebeard5133 I had noticed the buffer detail on the first Piko locomotive and coaches I bought. I looked up photos on internet and noticed this buffer detail. This video explains it all:

@@patricksmodels Thanks Patrick - I noticed it first on my Roco br114 a similar loco to the br140 in the video.
