Love the long videos with more detail. Don’t apologise for making great videos. If people’s attention span isn’t long enough to watch through 15 minutes of awesome information then let them skip forward. Great job coach!
Absolutely. Teach the way it comes naturally to you. You're a detail guy, and it's one of the main reasons why you're building a following. You and Neil Melanson are two of the big detail bjj coaches on youtube. Most coaches barely scratch the surface on techniques. You guys go deep, and it's awesome.
My Man! That was awesome. 530am tomorrow I will implement key changes at class. I like the set up. I really appreciate you listening to my request for this and just upgraded from the lower to the 25/month Patreon account (kinda want the shirt now lol). Keep it going and yes do not worry about video length. The content is amazing
Just as a note this am class alone I increased my submission rate on this via your detailed video by 300%. Everytime I tried it I hit it. Thanks so much and the Monson thing is beast
I love this choke but I have been struggling to finish it. Watched this video yesterday and hit it twice tonight without fail. Haven't dared tried the Charles Manson variation yet as I feel it's too overpowered! The grip detail is spot on and it's so satisfying to lock in and winch tighter and tighter. Love you.
Awesome details as usual. This vid has reinvigorated my desire to do this sub as I've kinda given up on unable to make it work. Seriously, your attention to detail is up there with Danaher. And that's without mentioning all the bells and whistles included with your show. You don't just visit this channel to pick up a move here and there, you come here to master moves. I'm gonna get this move then report back...
Love it coach, I've always had some difficulty finishing a north south choke so I tend to let go of it and try to get to another sub/position, I seem to find myself in the north south choke position a ton so now that I know these details it will help a ton in getting more finishes. Love the details on the Monson variety too I'm more lanky so I think that'll help tighten things up for me better.
Coach Brian, I have a very brief question regarding transitioning from side mount to north-south choke. If you are side mounting your opponent (you are to your opponent’s right side), when you transition to north-south, does it matter if your left arm is your choking arm (around your opponent’s left neck obviously) ? Or can your right arm be the choking arm instead (around your opponent’s right neck) ? Thank you!
hey Brian, when he goes for that underhook and you turn for the kimura, you said he can't bridge into you, that's fine, but what if he tries to roll you the other way, over his body? It looks like the same thing could happen when you adjust the head, but I guess you just have you left (same side as the choke) leg basing really far to the side to stop that?
How much shoulder flexibility do you need to feel comfortable going for this choke? After a few minor injuries, my shoulders are kinda stiff (working on it, getting better) but on a bad day I cab just barely do the chicken wing shoulder stretch. Is that all you need or do you need to be more flexible?

Jim Bobiddy, I couldn't agree more brother. Such awesome content and detail. Love the passion. Wish I lived out in Cali.

Emailed coach brian the other day just to tell him the exact same thing!
pro tip: you can watch movies on kaldroStream. Me and my gf have been using them for watching lots of of movies recently.
@Joel Thiago Definitely, been watching on KaldroStream for years myself :)
The more detail the better IMO
Just got a gold metal in a comp from this exact choke from the clean up on it from this exact video! Thanks man!
I love your format of teaching . Please don’t change your style. It helps beginner grow a lot faster. To have more fun rolling
Thanks you for sharing your experiences and expertise
Love the long videos with all the detail. It's the details that make it work.
Thank you!
Great job coach ...you’re amazing...!!!!!!
Great vid...watched this before training today and tapped a black belt with it (first time I've ever submitted anyone above purple)! Thanks!

Yes you basically just keep your balance with your toes in the mat. Rolling the other way is a lot harder than into you.
10:39 dude is giving a history lesson while his partner is slowly dying under lol
Love your videos man keep up the good work
Hi coach, nice, nice, nice...tks on this " long " video😃👍👍👍... can you, please give us more one idea for baratoplata from side and mount ?
Hopefully soon!
Was Jeff Monson not doing wrist on wrist with his NS choke?, for his youtube vids. I like this way too
Yes he shows wrist on wrist too. We were on the same Fila Grappling world team together.
Coach Brian . What do you mean by squeeze? You mean bringing elbows together or tensing up muscle isomatrically ?
Just long enough.
Shoulder flexibility matters very little. Mine are crazy tight.
I still struggle with this a lot. How do you get under the chin? I doing like jaw squeezes which is not what I want to get.
I'm super 'suspended'!
That jaw at @15:45 XD
I lose the choke when my partner bridges. Any suggestions or what im doing wrong
better with long videos then opposite!!
Long videos are better.
Timestamps! You. An keep a video long and let people jump ahead!
