I still genuinely cannot fathom how people believed Stories was 8.
It is called lying about your age, arguably half of the young population that owns internet does it. Stories was obviously 13 but the youngest youtuber to own a channel was 5 and they were infamous for tracing and feeding trolls. even i am guilty of doing it when i was just a little Z ゥ.

Here's one more thing to note: when it came to Spoctor saying he was groomed, he namedropped the person, which is an accusation. And with no evidence. But you're right, as you literally said, illegal behavior is still illegal behavior.

Spoctor was one of my favourite commentators but seeing all the new videos about him now is kinda shocking, Like I never would have expected him to do something like that.
But same thing as you- I’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, I’m sure he was young and didn’t know the weight of his actions, And just did a dumb thing (not downplaying the weight of it, it’s still VERY illegal.)
But idk what to think anymore, just hoping this has a happy ending .

Hey as an adult, you should absolutely not be giving him the benefit of the doubt. After his controversy at 16/17, he absolutely was aware and knew it was wrong to keep. It should have never been on a flash drive in the first place, and ESPECIALLY should not have existed at all after the false accusations levied against him by stories and pentagrin. But it didn’t stop there , even after that, he had the opportunity to destroy it and instead he lied about doing destroying it to the person whose nudes were on it. AND THEN, instead of still doing the reasonable adult thing to do when you realize you have deeply fucked up and destroying it for real and apologizing to the person they were of, he instead decided to confide about it to two other people and worry more about it getting out and ruining his reputation INSTEAD OF THE FACT THAT HE WAS HOLDING ON TO C P AS AN ADULT. that should tell you everything you need to know about his morals and who he is as a person. There is no benefit of the doubt. Spoctor made continuous bad decisions that he fully had a choice in and he still chose to make them.
It really doesn't matter at the end of the day if he comes back to explain his behavior or genuinely apologizes because he had that chance multiple times. Instead of own up to his actions he fuked around and lied desperately to avoid any form of accountability.
I used to be a fan of him too. I mainly just watched his videos for background noise when drawing. I feel uncomfortable knowing he joked about lying about crushing the drive. I feel about the same way I felt when the stuff about Creepshow Art came out.

Seriously. If I was a child, and some huge respected UA-camr made fun of my art, it would have either seriously stunted my growth or simply made me quit altogether.

Lets not forget how he went on a big tangent about how internet fame is bad for minors and don't bash them...Then he proceeded to throw a 16 year old girl under the bus beacuse "she made a bad video about him" :^)
I don't know if Spoctor being falsely accused and almost having his reputation destroyed only to be saved by Ponder just so he can throw it all out himself is tragic or hilarious. I'm leaning towards tragic but like... wow.

A big thing that concerns me about this situation is that he jokes about crushing the hard drive and how he could even fake it. It made me feel like he still has the nudes. This isn't solid evidence soo please don't spred this like truth it's just something thst I wanted to point out. Also is a big reason why I personally don't belive him.

Omg he said that? This just breaks my heart... He should've just deleted the photos long before that point. It makes me wonder why he kept them? Was it because he genuinely didn't think he'd get caught with them? Did he forget they were on his harddrive and he just happened to stumble on them while scrolling through the contents of the harddrive one day? Did he genuinely believe it wasn't a big deal, even after the Stories drama exploded?
I like how even though Spoc made videos on you, you didn't post a video like "Spoctor EXPOSED GROOMER THE TRUTH", Honestly the fact you come off so level-headed makes your commentary so much easier to sit through and agree with.

I started watching Spoctor from his Madame video(so around 2019) and his video helped me find Pounder's channel from her video popping up in my recommendations and I really subbed then when her Sashley video came out. This dude really connected me to a community I never thought as a artist needed to fill my ears while I draw. He was someone's in the community alot of young people around his age

Also, just a point against him while we’re talking about him, but he made a video about System Tik Tok and DID, in which he was extremely stupid, invalidating, ignorant, made the disorder seem like it’s a horror story and was just horrible to the people who’s clips he used.
I unsubbed from him when he posted it. He took it down, then not too long after that the drama came out and he deleted his channel..
I’m actually a system so seeing that video was like a big punch in the gut. I ESPECIALLY disliked that he didn’t even censor the usernames of the people because it got a lot of literal children harassed. And the whole argument that minors can’t have DID (I don’t remember if he argued this, I’m just stating this) is bogus because it’s not like you just don’t have DID until you’re an adult. It’s just more commonly diagnosed and more obvious at an older age :/
Another thing is saying fictives are uncommon is highly inaccurate. Systems that are neurodivergent (have a diagnosis for Autism, ADHD, etc.) tend to have fictives very often due to hyperfixations and special interests.

not related to anything else but I rewatch almost all of ponder sprocket's videos at least a couple times a year, usually more than that. She just has such a nice way of explaining things and detailing her counter-arguments
Another video that confronts Spoctors continuous lies is in the one by Aeron Tempest, showing that Spoctor also initially lied about deleting the controversial Dissociative Identity Disorder video, only unlisting it until confronted by Aeron about it

as someone who was in the art commentary community and the animation meme community in 2016 which kinda gave the art commentary community a huge boost of creators due to well EVERYTHING that went on during that era, The majority of the creators i watched from then till now have either, 1. got into such big drama that it completely killed their channel/career, 2. are groomers 3. have been victims of drama and have lost their career and 4. have been so utterly succumbed to constant conflicts with other creators to the point it sucks watching them. like the entire community is like just crumbling, so from someone who was a big spoctor fan and it sucks that he just yeeted off of the face of the earth and was super hypocritical in the face of accusations I'm honestly....not surprised like that doesn't surprise me anymore he was like one of the very last creators i still watched from that era

I hate seeing people from when I was younger, especially ones I still keep up to this day, go away like this. For me, it's really hard to dislike/hate whatever said person I enjoy does something morally wrong because I love them too much to have that replaced with hate. Instead, it's filled with sadness of losing someone, disappointment, and wishing things don't down fall into this

I avoided spoctor drama related content because I was previously a fan, but after hearing about all of this I want to completely forget about him. There are much better commentators nowadays that not moving forward is a waste of time.
tbh i always found spocter toxic and mildly shifty. He was always hyper aggressive for no reason and that tends to go into not knowing when a line is crossed.

They look really cool, clean and sharp, I just want to point out that in the one where your characters pulls her hand towards the viewer the thumb should be flipped (to have the bend towards the inside of the hand, not outside) and in the other with the finger resting against your face it looks like you have either 6 fingers or a really long thumb due to the amount of lines in the rest of the hand

I remember playing pony town with friends, and in one of his videos (its the "you're not the real spoctor" video, i was the mlp next gen character cotton candy) we can be seen in it in the background and once one of us told the other people in the same friend group, we all were so happy about it (I never watched spoctor besides a few videos maybe a year or 2 later ?)

Personally I find it hard to believe that he just forgot about the USB drive until he turned 18. Why wouldn't he have remembered the USB drive's existence and cleared it/destroyed it when he stopped being sexual with the other person? I can't speak for everyone, but I know that as soon as I've broken up with someone or stopped being sexual with them, I've rushed to delete their nudes if I had them. On top of that, he's lied so much about other things that I just find it hard to give him the benefit of the doubt when he says it was an accident that he kept them for so long.

Hey, don't worry I do the same thing to, with those ponder sprocket videos . It has a great background noise when I am drawing.
I didn't watch Spoctor often, but he seemed like a nice person from the one or two videos I saw of him. When I heard about the drama, all I was hoping was for him to defend himself against the illegal photo accusations and prove he was still the nice guy I thought he was. He'd just gotten his name cleared of the grooming allegations for the most part, so I thought he was okay.
I get that the evidence of him destroying the USB could be easy to fake and you never know if he secretly has those photos backed up somewhere, but he didn't even try to prove his innocence. You would think that proving his integrity of character and clearing his name was way more important than bringing up the logistics of how he could lie to us again, much less making a light-hearted joke during such a serious discussion. That was his reputation on the line! Did he even care?
I feel sad and kind of betrayed that he didn't try to fix things at any point. A lot of his fans would have given him the benefit of the doubt if he just tried to redeem himself. I liked him, and I would've been happy for him if he wanted make things right, but the lies and distrust really came to bite him in the butt. More than that, he kept deflecting and running away with every chance he was given to fix things. Sad that you can't tell if your favorite creator will take accountability for their actions during a fiasco like this.
He also ran away, which lends me to the belief that he feels guilty. I would feel guilty in his shoes, too, but Spoctor... My guy, I wish you would take two seconds to empathize with your viewers and apologize for those you hurt, even by mistake. You may have forced a clean slate already by moving on, but your actions still hurt real people, and that guilt might still weigh in on your conscience for a long time. It's never too late to apologize, even if your social accounts are gone. Regardless, I hope you have a good life wherever you go, and I hope you learn to make honest decisions for yourself and other people. I'll miss you for what you were.

The whole thing with Stories was bullshit that should have never happened to him.
He was trying to transition his Channel into a business but latched on the company's most bad habits (hence the PR comment) and it didn't help he was friends with those persecuting Peeches and Hidan.
If u don't want to make videos about a situation that ur friends are involved in - than don't.
The pics.......that's bad but I can understand (to an extent). He received the pics when he was a minor and he was also sending pics from what I could understand (Kids Please Stop Its Still A Crime And It Will Haunt U WHEN U GET OLDER).

In my personal opinion, he should not be excused. This is actual p3dophillia as he was over 15 while the kid he recieved exploitative material from was under that age, he was the one who initiated sending of nudes which means he had to have some sort of attraction to the 13yo, that is by medical textbook definition p3dofillia. He was old enough to understand why behaviour like this is not ok and can absolutely hurt and traumatise the other person, and even if he was actually groomed into it (which is alleged) there is proof of him cracking jokes and speaking of the situation in a light-hearted manner in recent times which really proves he does not care about the harm done.

The person Spocter was dating at the time was 13, so technically he wouldn’t be considered a ped0phile. He is in the wrong for keeping the pictures (and even having and sending some in the first place) but saying he would be a ped0phile for dating someone 2 years younger than him is little much. The art contest EXPLICITLY said no NSFW, only suggestive things. No nudity or adult content. Buuuut he did encourage NSFW art and tried to commission it as well as a minor.
This is kinda unrelated but even though I never watched your content back then I did through Spoctor and your artstyle has improved so much!! I really like the variation between the sharp and curvy lines and your character's expressions are really charming :))

TL;DR: Spoctor said some poor taste stuff about other people, and realized his mistake too late during a time when his mental state hit rock bottom, and then was harassed constantly for that and some age old stuff he stupidly did when he was younger

Honestly after the DID video I just couldn’t follow him anymore, that comparison he made just was rough and it hurt bc I myself am a system and just fjsjfjjs ouchy
Few things:
- Saving Spoctors ass - yes, Ponder was on forefront of that, but also was PKRussl and some of the breakthroughs in the case was also his doing - stop cuting off PKRussl of whole thing. Yes, he don't like Hazbin Hotel and shown his ass on Twitter, but this does not change the fact he did play major role in whole thing
- Peaches drama is even more poignant than some might thing - since whole thing was manufactured by bunch of other UA-camrs - orchestrated by Creepshow Art and conducted via Discord group including creators like: PrisonMate Luke, Kaii, Omnia (proven when Kaii had his fall out with Omnia and started just droping this info with screenshots). Gee, person that was victim of someone on UA-cam trying to destroy them? Where did we heard that story before?
Yes. Spoctor found himself in position PKRussl and Ponder Sprocket were in. Heck, he even had it easier, because both Ponder Sprocket and PKRussl had to do some digging and Spoctor got whole thing handed to him. That's the biggest problem I see here. He's most likely not pedo, and that case with CP drive, while really sounding bad is also more a case of his overall character and morality rather than what he did as it can be excused by stupidity, forgetfullness etc. rather than being malicious pedo with terabytes of CP stored on USB drives that litter his room like candies.
The biggest fuckup of Spoctor is the fact he found himself in situation when he could repaid the karma by helping other person in almost same situation he was in, but chosing - to preserve current state of commentary community at the time and his position in it. His reasoning can be easily deciphered through how he defended Junkie. He did not care about what is right. He only cared about himself and maybe those he considered friends - which mostly were people who did something for him. During Stories drama people said among the other allegations that he is an arrogant asshole and too horny for his own good. He acknowledged that stuff and in his video where he defended himself he said he will change. He did not. CP drive debacle is outcome of those two traits persisting. And we also uncovered another trait after Peaches drama.
It is not Spoctor was not worthy of help provided by PKPonder and RussSprocket. Everyone who is victim of conspiracy aimed to make that person lose fruits of their hard labour is worthy of help. It is not that Pentagrin, Stories and Atari were right and Spoctor is a pedo, he is most likely not. People overlook that but biggest issue is Spoctor being in situation where he had a clear choice - do the right thing, or do the convenient thing. And he chose the latter. That's biggest problem here and most important lesson we all need to learn from that debacle. We all need to take that to heart, and when we find ourselves in similliar situation we need to lock back to this and think - am I being a Spoctor? Am I chosing convenient option, or am I doing right thing?

I already know my 2 cents about this topic is so inflated it might not matter but i still want to say this. after whatever happened in 2018 or maybe 2020, 7 years (2016-now), i’ve tried my best to lean away from commentary channels because you can never trust anyone. obviously people know not to trust people on this website but i feel the need to remind everyone, no one is your friend here, they might speak ideals you agree with but at the end of the day you can’t get too attached. Every old commentator coming out with some terrible allegation solidifies this belief and i know there is outliers and good people probably but it’s not worth finding especially if you are impressionable. Although nothing to do with this topic when i think of this community i occasionally think about how it played a large role in destroying birdie (obv they are responsible with anything they did or posted) and commentary youtubers seem likely to target people. i want to believe the community has gotten better but at this point it’s not worth it. i agree with your idea of just explaining yourself and living with whatever happens instead of running away, but in the end we are just outsiders who have no extreme need to know about what happens. i know im generalizing and people should know when someone is a predator but there is a fine line and i can’t help but feel it had been crossed so frequently.
When it comes to things like this, you never know if maybe something involving the legal system was happening behind the scenes and he was forced to remove all content from social media and was banned from using it. I'm not saying that's what happened, just that it's a possibility.

Hilarious thing, I completely forgot I was subscribed to any commentary channels till now and I have not been keeping up with stuff like this, I'm genuinely upset to find out what Spoctor did, he was always my favourite commentary channel. Very disappointed in him >:(

If I’m being completely honest-? I think there was just a lot of miss communication-… I feel like a lot of, or atleast some stuff he said could’ve been worded incorrectly. But again, I’m not him, I don’t know. That’s just my opinion. Like when he told peaches to stop telling people they were suicidal. I interrupted it as him telling peaches to stop telling others that they were gonna kill themselves because that does scare people. Again, I may be wrong here, but I thought peaches use to say they WERE gonna unalive themselves- again, I may be wrong. But I believed Spoctor meant that they should seek a therapist and stop telling the internet that we’re gonna unalive themselves, because it was scaring them. Like, they should tell close friends instead, not the whole internet. Again, I could be wrong. But I feel like a lot of this could be misunderstood, or just bad wording, I’m just playing devils advocate again.
Dont forget about how spoctor did some grape apology/victim blaming/insisting the victim was lying in a few videos too. Spoctor has thrown up an insane amount of red flags over time and really shouldnt be trusted - plus saying stuff like that around impressionable kids that watch him is *profoundly harmful*

This whole time I thought Spoctor was just kind of an asshole which i accepted since we all have our Achilles heel and he didnt seem malicious. This is just so dissapointing, i loved listening to him while i drew as a kid and i actually sent my step dad spoctors video on therians when he asked me what they are lol (i figured his attention would be held better by a video of someone clowning on them)
