"Fallen Angel" brings true tears to my eyes. Such a loyal criminological depiction, that relates to an unfortunate prosaic reality of our mankind. An amazing, priceless song. The interlude from 2:58 to 3:41 is like a sharp knife straightly to the heart, like a requiem composed for someone beloved. I feel the pain. Sort of an impromptu China Cymbal Bruford said in interviews and I believe it's in the Great book on Crimson by Sid Smith "In the Court of King Crimson". Remember in Rock/Prog China Cymbals weren't a Big thing in Drumming yet in 1973-74' even though the evolution of them was around for a long time !! China's were used by Zappa, Jethro Tull, ELP and Billy Cobham and other Jazz/Fusion Drummers in the early 70s : )
Recently discoverd this band I missed so long ago thanks to a little anime. First few rifts of in the court had me interested. This cemented it. Im in deep now lol Finding Red of all things in a flee market brought me near to tears as I was meaning to get a copy somewhere and there it was. Cant say any other cd ever brought about such emotion on sight. I knew Id like it. I was wrong, loved it. Especially this track and Starless.
4:01 Mr Fripp’s playing here is sublime, but then the tone of all the instruments on this track is perfect. This IS the 1970’s for me, a time of discovery, learning and transcendence.
My favorite riff has to be the one Frip plays at 4:20. Before going on stage I'd paly it over and over to get loose and warm up. I love how chromatic it is and repetitive it's almost on par with the main riff from Black Sabbath "After All The Dead".
all Red tracks described in 10 words or less: Red - Yeah **ascends scales** Fallen Angel - shit... my bro died... **cries in cornet** One More Red Nightmare - yo fuck the USA Providence - Man, honestly fuck it Starless - That one song every King Crimson album has. Perfection.

I dont know why but this beautiful song makes me think of Elden Ring, as I've been playing it lately. King Crimson's music goes very well with the iconography and settings of that game.
I spent So. Much. Time. on Three of a Perfect Pair and The Power To Believe that I don't remember the last time I listened to Red. Incredible. Probably listened to this song at least a hundred times and it never ceases to amaze me. Wonderful album.

And the famous "Broken" cracked Cymbal Bruford found at the recording studio that he used on this song and others on the "Red" album One more Red Nightmare !!
A good friend loved this song just as much as I do. Rest in Peace. My spirit wants more. See you soon, John Wetton?
The madlad, Fripp went and did it
Great song and album . Bruford had such a distinct style and sound . His snare drum is unmistakable
Probably my biggest claim to fame is my kid had a playdate with Bill Buford's grandson. Total happenstance. I nearly flipped my lid!
Bruford had the fullest sound of any drummer I ever heard!
My life makes sense now, I've been waiting for this moment for a long time
Recently discoverd this band I missed so long ago thanks to a little anime. Especially this track and Starless.
tears of Joy.. at the sight of an album
Never alone from that time~
the trumpet in this song is fire
Such a brilliant song. Never gets old.
4:01 Mr Fripp’s playing here is sublime, but then the tone of all the instruments on this track is perfect.
This IS the 1970’s for me, a time of discovery, learning and transcendence.
I listen to this anytime I feel sad or straight up depressed. It makes me feel better everytime
Always stay strong 💪🏻
One if my favorite songs from a favorite album. Everything Fripp does on this song alone has influenced my playing a lot.
that riff sound like i want you she is so heavy
I'm from a time when bands would cover this in bars...:)...Such a great song! A life spent with Crimso is a well lived life...RIP Wetton...
I wonder when they will close the comment section..
My favorite riff has to be the one Frip plays at 4:20. Before going on stage I'd paly it over and over to get loose and warm up. I love how chromatic it is and repetitive it's almost on par with the main riff from Black Sabbath "After All The Dead".
one of the most beautiful song of the 20th century!
fantastic!
on the 40th Anniversary release there is 'Trio instrumental version', Wetton's vocals are great on this original - but to hear Fripp's guitar is wild
Found this looking for modern/non-classical songs featuring the Oboe: can officially say I'm satisfied.
Let's suppose somebody have asked you about the greatest example of creativity , what would you tell ? STARLESS King Crimson !!!!!
all Red tracks described in 10 words or less:
Red - Yeah **ascends scales**
Fallen Angel - shit... my bro died... **cries in cornet**
One More Red Nightmare - yo fuck the USA
Providence - Man, honestly fuck it
Starless - That one song every King Crimson album has. Perfection.
One More Red Nightmare is simply about being on an airplane.
This is the best album Crimson ever made!
One of the best Song ever in music history Bro. Simply
Bruford at 4:27 fill is nice.
How can a song be so perfect
ke? no entendi
Size olan sevgimi sözcüklerle ifade edemem, şu 10-15 yıllık gençliğim boyunca sizler bana eşlik ettiniz ve edeceksiniz. Ölene kadar size kulak vermekten asla usanmayacağım King Crimson.
Russian lyrics before English lol
I dont know why but this beautiful song makes me think of Elden Ring, as I've been playing it lately. King Crimson's music goes very well with the iconography and settings of that game.
Risentita ancora, dopo 47 anni, sempre meravigliosa.
I spent So. Much. Time. on Three of a Perfect Pair and The Power To Believe that I don't remember the last time I listened to Red. Incredible. Probably listened to this song at least a hundred times and it never ceases to amaze me. Wonderful album.
Love the horns on this track, magnificent song.
This masterpiece is still vastly underrated. You hate to see it
Had the Red line gauge from the album cover in my 67 Catalina dash, where the clock goes. Worshiped these guy’s. Saw them (4) times. Always a fantastic experience. From Buffalo, N.Y.
Sublime
Definitely in my top three King Crimson songs. Up there with Islands and The Night Watch
thanks for the blessing fripp
Because Robert and Mel are leaders it is a work of art
This song brings this stellar collection of fine dance tunes into the realm of the paranormal.
I desperately need this song to become a stand.
Thank you, Fripp. Love to be able to ennjoy this on YT
Amo este disco !!!
I have just forked out a hundred quid on the Larks Tongues in Aspic box set. Interestingly it has a bootleg recording of one of Crimson very early shows. The riff to Fallen Angel is present in some of these early shows. Disc 2 the Frankfurt Zoom Club recording.
