I have the same gun as you, I live in North Carolina. I half to say it loves turkeys up to 60 yards. I shot federal premium no- 9s 3' shells. I really like these guns so much I talked my friends in to getting one and they love them. never tried slugs in them but I will half to give it a try. Thanks for your video. Enjoyed it
It is a nice sounding round. There is a great echo at this location - off the high surrounding mountains and cliffs. Sometimes whales will breach, or make loud noises, and the sound will echo around the mountains.
Having hunted 20 gauge for decades, I think really underrated by 12 gauge hunters. Nice single you have there. Screw in chokes? May need to pick one up, thanks!
I have not had 1 single problem. Honestly the little shotgun has really grown on me over the last months. It is my go to gun for just outings. Anytime we go out for an outing, hike, dog walk, family adventure, I carry the little shotgun. Super Handy Gun
I’ve watched 100’s of videos on the 301 both in 20 and .410 and have yet to find a bad review… the only gripes were with the stock red dot… other than that, 4-5 stars all day long and I will be purchasing one for sure!
Hi Buddy So far I have had zero issues - all good. It is still a really new rifle thought - has not been fired all that much yet. Thanks for commenting Buddy Sterling
Big Bears, double barrel 12ga slug, I’d feel a bit safer, or semi, things will happen fast I’d figure. Single shot is a 1& done, then it’s a Club, Best~Regards
This is the shooting "range" area in the small community Tenakee Springs, Southeast Alaska. It is an informal affair, but everyone in town shoots out here at this same spot. I do not believe the city owns the beach below the tideline, so maybe actually a mix of city and state lands. We have been super happy with 20 gauge savage. It is a fun little capable shotgun - It feels great in your hands, and is just easy and Fun to Shoot. Thank you for commenting buddy!!!
Thanks Mike That is Great - I have an older stevens, single shot 12 gauge, and I thought it would be real fun to try a smaller 20 gauge. It is a fun size shell to shoot. Thanks for Commenting Buddy
Great video my friend. People should learn to appreciate the simple things that make life worth living. Telling you what you need to do? So easy to talk about something that they don't know shit about, living in a real rural area with no luxury of gun stores or limited access to firearms is not easy. To all of you with a degree of ignorance please move to Alaska and tell us what is going to happen to you.
Your Turkey choke is pretty well useless for what you want to use the shotgun for. The modified choke will do all you want it to do using shot or slugs. Now if you are hunting ducks or geese you might want to use the Turkey choke. Good luck on your hunts and learn fast reloads if confronted with an enraged bear.🇺🇸✌🏻🙏🏽

@Bringyourquivertotheriver single shots great , I got alot of shotguns here and my singles are my favorite especially my over and under double barrel, but I definitely wouldn't want to go to war with one lol
😮o yes I'm a retired Veit Nam vet, & a single barrel shotgun _ is ok for defense and attacks if you got hands on back up weapons on hit and run 🥷🏿🏃 servivel tactics, boys you got to be careful and on the move around 🤔, toxic masculinity practical normal straight guys 🤔

Nice video, how is the ejector holding up with the spring assisted mechanism?

Light weight Shotgun and 3" magnum tend to bark! Lol Great video
Cool video!
Hey - Thanks Yak!!! -
It was a nice day out there
ANY shotgun will shot slugs, as long as it is not too tightly choked. Use an Improved Cylinder or wider choke for best results.
Or a rifled choke!
Buy a Rifled choke tube for it. Shoots great.
Hey
I will have to try that. I have never had a rifled choke tube.
Thanks for Commenting Buddy
Will a rifled choke do anything for an already rifled slug?
@@gregb6469 Better for sabot slugs but mine shoots better with rifled slugs than without
Seems to on mine@@gregb6469
@@gregb6469it's should shrink the groups
With proper sights or a scope the rifled slugs are pretty accurate to 150 yrds

Gorgeous area.
I love Southeast Alaska - Mountains, rivers, forests, and inland waterways.
Great shotgun. Is that a shooting range or your land?

You need 2/34 less recoil
Get a12 bore
A single shot 20 gauge for bear protection? You're going to end up as bear poo.

The dog needs hearing protection or it will become deaf. Same as you.
Thank for commenting this.

I know a guy who has open ear shotgun hunted for 50 years and he is remarkably not deaf. You will lose bottom hearing range over time though
i think you'll regret buying a single shot if you need to use this for bear protection. Consider a pump gun friend. Cheers
Single shots the best.
