Guys, I’m not sure how this is possible, but this series is even better than last season. Just wanted to say Merry Christmas to my favorite Aussie sailing couple. Cheers!
If the BBC or National Geographic, doesn’t pickup your filming and narrating skills. They are absolutely missing out. Nobody does it better than you two!
Again a great video Seal and all. If you don't have another video next week I wish you both a Merry Christmas and hell why not a Fantastic New Years as well. Yes that race that you and your mother are going on should be exciting. Hope to hear more on it as well. Cheers you two
Now, this was crazy good. I thought it was great when you said "I love you" to Slim as he dove into the Great White shark attractants, the seals. But he survived, so on with the show. Fur seals are not nearly as aggressive as sea lions, that's why they are called lions! If you had a few days more and some fish, that little fur seal would probably have befriended you. What a great video. Good luck and safe passage in the race.
Hahah, it could have been our last moments together...and I would have been in a very sticky situation...but alas, he did survive! I don't think he was very happy about it though 😂Maybe that's where we went wrong, we didn't have any fish on us!
Hanging with the seals and sailing with a very very friendly dolphin! (I think he winked at ya! 😂) Ain't sealife grand! Good luck with the race if we don't see you. Ready about, hard to lee! 🤙
Awesome episode, Merry Christmas and good luck with the Syd-Hobart, I always watch the race and the cricket on boxing day with 10,000 beers on hand. Good onya guys!
You make me feel happy I dived with seals at Baron Joey Tasmania east coast once best experience of my life so playful and friendly inquisitive Sadly a woman got taken by a great white there some years later Looking forward to watching you and the wonderful netty in the Sydney to Hobart
It would have been awesome to swim with these guys, but yeah, we had sharks on our mind...didn't exactly want to mix with them too much in the water. That's very sad to hear. Cheers, so glad to hear you enjoyed the video!
According to Troy, the best way to tell the difference between Australian and New Zealand fur seals - is the the kiwi ones have erected scaffolds around their rocks!
Your gonna love SA guys, looking forward to seeing your take on it. Streaky Bay has a great pub, good for a decent parmi 👍. Is a circumnavigation of Kangaroo Island on the cards?
What a special video this week. I never would have expected to see seals in Aus!! Are you aware that the Vendée Globe fleet of about 40 IMOCA 60s are crossing the waters south of you at the moment? The single handed sailors left France 5 weeks ago to sail the 24000nm race. Some of the lead boats have had 24hour runs over 600nm. Bloody amazing eh!! Merry Christmas from Perth, Ontario Canada.
That’s adorable!!! 😂❤ But you wouldn’t catch me in the water!! I’m sure there are about 10 white sharks just waiting for you guys to get in 😅 Love the seals, so majestic!! 🙌🏻 Beautiful place, hope you guys write a book about your journey, I would buy it in heart bit!!
Yep, for sure...I don't think Slim was very happy about having to get in 😅 So glad you enjoyed, and interesting thought on the book! Ya never know, maybe one day 😊
Wow, that’s beautiful. I’m surprised they are still allowed to use gill nets, although here in the US it’s complicated by state laws vs federal laws, they are being phased out. Of course there are also countries that ignore most laws, most closer to you guys.
Yeah, us too. In some parts of Australia, they are banned, but that doesn't seem to be the case down here. Yeah, the fishing industry is not one we can get amongst unfortunately
Saw a programme years ago where they lay down and crawled on all four and the Seals seemed to accept them a lot better than the upright, vertical version. Don't look too Sexy though.
So what Yaz Gunna do when ya finish your degrees , surely it's an impossible thought being stuck in the rat race !! I feel for you both , I certainly wouldn't want to leave the freedom 😊
Now how can Google Earth be "Satellite images" and yet a massive granite rock Island does not appear! what the hell! just goes to show these images are not what we are lead to believe!
Yeah, crazy, hey! It's the first place I've come across that hasn't been on the imagery. But for sure, can't rely solely on these programs, even Navionics!

@@SlimandSophSailingNakama You Betcha! And Merry Christmas to you both!
You two just keep me smiling every time. Thanks a lot.
Good luck with the race!!
If I was 50 years younger I would be following in your sailing tracks. Wow, what an adventure. Enjoy your time in paradise.
Thanks David, we’re glad to have you following along 😊
That new camera dropped at a great time. Loved all those long shots getting in there without disturbing the seals, really. You took it to a new level.
Inspirational stuff. Thanks very much.
And have an amazing Sydney to Hobart Soph!

Good luck in the race Soph. Give the Customs House a miss and head up the hill to the Shipwright's Arms. Better type of people up there.😉❤🤙

Why did you not suit up and go for a swim with the seals?

What was the smell like?

Did the seals make any noises?
No, we didn't really get any noises out of them. Maybe a grunt here or there
🙏🏻⛵🐬...
You guys are dressed like your on a hot sunny beech !
