I'm 70 years old and not really interested in bass thumping. But....I love this channel! You are always smiling Mr Parker and you are really into what you are doing! Thank you for bringing your knowledge to all of us and keep up the good work!
@@ParkerTheBasshead hey Parker, so I remember you thinking that DC woofer ya got was a bit overpriced when you consider the performance you get for the money lol-ol-ol well I just got a DC NEO ELITE 4-18in D1ohm delivered yesterday and man o man is she sexy!!! Apparently it is the biggest and baddest sub that DC makes and it certainly is wayyyy overpriced the damn thing cost $2,500+ for ONE WOOFER!!! Thankfully I actually won it from a DroppinHz waffle because I don't care if they plated it in 24k gold or pure platinum there is no way in hell I personally would ever spend that much on a single woofer I mean sure it's badass, weighs 80lbs of neodymium with 4in 8 layer PE flat wound coils rated 4.5k rms but man that's a whole lot of money when you consider I bought pair of Wolfram PT-18's that also have a 4in PE coil and 4k rms each for $650ea lmao I could buy 4 of them for the price of this one subwoofer and I'd bet you anything that the 4 Wolfram PT-18'S would be significantly louder than one NEO 18 ever could! But hey I'll take it for free 😝🤣🤷♂️ granted I'm likely stuck with it for life because I can't really see anyone spending what it's worth to buy it from me on top of the orig price it also has a custom colored basket and matching dust cap so I'm guessing it was somewhere close to 3 grand!!!
Dude, Dude. You have a passion that just rocks man. I love your builds. The best part of all of this is watching where you came from and where you’re at now. Keep building and bassing
When you connect a pack out of cells like that you need to have a BMS, to ensure proper charging and discharging, because if those cells become unbalanced, either over or under charged, it will cause a HUGE problem. I'm not a Car audio expert, But I do deal with Lithium Cells a lot, including Lifepo4, the type you are using. They wont explode like Lithium ION, but they will release unsafe gasses and get VERY HOT.
Actually for car audio a BMS limits the current of discharge and charge. For solar, trolley motors, and other things alike a BMS is recommended. For car audio the only thing needed is a Balancer. The regulator on the alternator keeps the charging within range.
I wish I had the opportunity to do like you do and share it with the world !! the main reason I always watch your vids is because you are genuinely excited and 100 percent honest about your love for bass .... keep it up my brother in bass 💯 keeping frequencies low and vibes high 🙌😃
Michael you do have the opportunity. We all do the best part about it you can get started with a little to no money and minimal efforts. We can do anything we put our mind to.
I've read all kinds of stuff on those single lithium cells how hard is that on your alternator and did you have to do anything to the regulator on it to keep from overcharging the lithium pack? If memory serves me correct those are 3.2 volt cells? as opposed to the lithium ion that are 3.7 volt cells. The reason I bring up the regulator and overcharging I used to build packs out of 18650 cells and if you put more than 4.2 volts into each one of those cells they will get hot and explode and when I say explode it's more like hooking a capacitor up backwards the case blowing off of it and it's going to dent something or put your eye out.
I just got that JP234 and I love it. The only downside of it is that the clip light is on the opposite side of the amp than the adjustment knobs. I ended up just using my DD-1 but if I didn't have that I would have been stuck using a mirror when making the gain adjustments
Awesome video! Been looking to go lithium for a while now but those prebuilt lithium batteries cost an arm and a leg. This has opened my eyes to much cheaper options. Thank you for this great content!!! 👍👍👍
You may want to spread out your power and ground wires to distribute the load across more cells. The way this is set up the cells closest to the power wires will see dramatically more stress than the cells farthest away.
I've also got a bunch of headways. The active balancers I've tried sucks. Bought an icharger x6 n just balance now and then to keep em healthy. Also, they get damage when used under 32 deg unlike other lithium chemistries. Just another toy to keep my cheap ass batteries healthy lol stoked for the next one Parker
You got that big bank energy! Man, I wish I knew what I was doing when I first installed my set up lol, I just need to get a newer head unit to properly run all my speakers into the 4 + 1 channel amp I'm running.
What prevents you from dropping a wire, tool, etc. on top of that Lithium bank (creating a short) leading to a massive fire? You going to run a lid/cover over the top of that thing?
Also, those ground wires are laying on top of the next battery rail. If those things end up wearing through from the bass and/or from vibrations, that will be a direct short and will catch fire!
My CRV needs that sub! I hate stock audio and I just cant afford a sub right now with a baby on the way. LOVE this budget series though, great for bass heads who dont have thousands to spend on audio. I will just copy this build but cut everything in 1/4 lol
Thinking of trading out my memphis mini mojo 8 in the factory enclosure I put in the extended cab of my truck for a custom built box and one of those American bass 15s ....just wonder if it will preform as well ....the mini mojo 8 surprises everyone when I turn it up ....but I am running around 1100 watts to it sometime a tad more ....using a skar rp 1500.1 to run it but I may use a jp23 to run the 15 if I go that way ....just always like to build my own enclosure....first time in 20 years I didn't
When you ran that tape measure from the + to the - terminal I puckered up a little bit😂 careful with that bad boy, if my math is right that sucker is capable of 4,000 amps continuous discharge. ⚡️🤯⚡️
I'm banned on Facebook for another 6 days lol so gotta wait to like your Facebook page Loving the videos bro good inspiration for my build and I'm learning all the stuff I didn't know!!
Sick! I have 192ah of lithium and have been thinking of going Coventry but $500+ is steep for me especially this close to Christmas!! Link to bms you got?
Nice video! loved the spark but definitely need to protect/cover those plates man that makes me nervous. only takes 4 of those headway cells to start a car! those are no joke. BE CAREFUL BRO
I wanted to build a headway battery for my car, but the high output alternator I bought charges a little too high. 15v cold and 14.8v warm is a little more than I wanted to run since one of my batteries are bad and probably pulls it down more than a lithium bank would. AGM will work just fine for me though and should last until my next car, then we can go lithium! 340a alt on an xs d2400 (coming soon) and d1200 for a 5k and 600. I think it’ll handle it.
I've been doing some research on these banks. I'm curious to hear, how are you charging these batteries? I keep hearing they have a similar charge profile to lead acid, but then others say they are not safe to charge off the car alternator and if they're connected to the starter battery and there's a big voltage difference, there's some bad about that? Have you run into any issues or had any concerns? Seems like you've had good experiences? Have you experimented with a BMS at all or is that not viable for this application? I've ordered 36 cells to experiment with.
Hey parker got you subscribed on both my accounts love the videos I got a question I didn't see nobody ask did you ever think about building in selling these batteries for people or can people request for you to make one for them?
Parker what was the total cost of this build..and dis Coventry supply all the hardware.. And did you get all the cells from battery depo. I am looking to build basically the same battery as this..thanks
Love the build man, but PLEASE insulate those wires and don’t leave them sitting across the battery rails like that. It would not take much for the wire insulation to wear through and then you have a direct short which will catch fire!!! Lithium is amazing, but you have to respect the power and build it safely. I recently built a battery using 76 eight amp/hr pouch cells that are capable of up to 400 amps each! I took my watch and wedding ring off while I was building it. A 1/0 wire can flow a LOT of current before it melts!!! PLEASE be careful. I want to see how this turns out, and future projects too.
Are these the headway cells like in the super beast im thinking about ordering one and getting some bus bars for my setup ive been told if i get a supercap battery or bank and add with the headway it will complement each other and slow any voltage drain down in between bass drops do you know if there is any truth to that im new to lithium in car audio been gone for over 10 years and now everyone has massive lithium banks
Literally just bought the same 160 bars from Coventry. You still using the bank? How’s it? How many watts you getting out of it. How much voltage drop? I got it to run my md12k 1ohm model wired at 1.3 Have a 370 and a 270 alts with 4 runs 2/0 welding cable to rear

Do the 2 taramps 8ks on subs and the big jp on the mids and the smaller jp on the Highs with the taramps smart sp to tune them all

pretty happy with my jp234, and 33, but the bass knob is kind of sucking compared to the standard wired with clip light.
