Introducing: BRAID TWISTER KNOT
This simple and yet extremely strong knot comes in handy when situations require you to be fast!
Situations like those short window period of frenzy feeding and you burst your lines,and you knew you had to be fast!
Or you have problems tying FG knot on a rocking boat....
It takes me about 10 seconds or so to tie one!
This knot is excellent for vertical jigging, Hand line Fishing or even Casting (refer below)
As such, it has a wider diameter compared to FG knot or PR knot
.
The wide diameter made it unsuitable for distance casting when your braid twister knot was within your rod ring guides system!
It would hit your rod's ring guides at high speed when you cast!
ALTERNATIVELY FOR CASTING, you can choose to shorten your leader to a length where your BT is not within your rod system and yet still able to cast.
By doing so, you don't have to worry about the impact of your BT knot hitting your ring guides every time you cast!

Also xalled Yucatan knot and Mate's knot. Agree, wouldn't run it through guides, use in place of a swivel for leader less than rod length. Good video, as always

Don’t melt the tag ends. I use a small drop of super glue to lock down the knots.

@@gregoryburris6374 I think he said palomar knot and fg knot. Yet, I dont find palomar knot usefull for fluo or mono line leaders. I use it only for braid. And to connect main braid to fluo leader, i use this one from the video, it works best with the guides on the rods.

I tried this knot, braid 20 pounds to fluoro 5 pounds for baitcaster, the knot slips, I tried with 10 pounds fluoro, same slip, I think the overhand additional loop should be on the fluoro side, that’s where I notice this knots fails.

This 2nd is the improved Yukatan and I agree you have to close it off with either half hitches, but better yet a rizutto knot. The old sportsfisherman guys will argue this knot doesn't slip but it does if you cut the tags right to the end and use proper knot tighteners to cinch it down more. What you end up is a swirl at the end of the mono/fluro indicating line slippage. It's better to test this with at least 65lb braid and mono/fluro so the line doesn't break before the line slip. I've had a lot of guys say I don't tie my Yukatan knots right so I show them, then I get them to tie theirs. Those that cut the tag ends close to the knot will always have line slip failure. You have to burn the mono/fluro end as shown in this video and close it off with a finshing knot and burn that braid tag end too.

Both this ans Yukatan knot have a leader tag facing toward the guides when you cast, this means with heavier leader you will have something catching the guides

It s not recommended this knot to pass on the guides when casting as I mentioned on the details. In case you want for casting I only make 1 meter leader to make sure your knot connection will knot go through guides.

Why do you need 6 half-hitch at the end? Is the knot not good enough by itself? I also think it's bad to get heat near your line. It may weaken that spot.

its only an option to add half hitch at the end. you are correct when heating up you should be careful or else it might affect the knot
